Abstract

Religious moderation is one of the themes that has been frequently researched in recent years. This topic is examined from various perspectives, including a Christian perspective. In the context of Christian education, studies on this topic generally focus on efforts to build a biblical foundation for moderate religious perspectives, attitudes, and practices. These studies are essential as a form of religious literacy. But so far, there has yet to be research on strengthening the character of religious moderation through the religious literacy movement in Christian education so that the values of religious moderation are internalized into the nature of students. This research aims to fill this gap. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results show that strengthening the character of religious moderation will be effective if religious literacy is carried out as a participatory movement through learning activities, developing school culture, extracurricular activities, and activities at home/church/community. The results of this study enrich the literature on moderation and religious literacy. They are helpful as an essential input for educators committed to forming the character of religious moderation in students.

Abstract

This research describes the implementation of the Workshop on Strengthening the Capacity of Innovative and Dedicative Principals in the Forum of Senior High School/Vocational High School Principals in West Manggarai using the Problem-Solving Simulation Model (PSSM). This activity was designed to address the gap in education quality in West Manggarai. The objectives of the workshop were to improve principals' leadership skills, develop contextual solutions to educational problems and build collaborative networks among principals. The workshop was conducted through four systematic stages: Problem Identification, Reflection, Evaluation, and Follow-up. Through the PSSM approach, the principals analyzed problems, developed contextual solutions, and simulated their implementation. The workshop successfully increased the capacity of 42 principals with a 68% increase in understanding of transformational leadership. Participants produced 10 innovative action plans based on the local context and formed five peer mentoring groups for program sustainability. The level of participant satisfaction reached 87% based on the end-of-program evaluation. The collaboration with Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng plays a strategic role in providing academic assistance and creating a sustainable learning ecosystem to improve the quality of education in West Manggarai.

Abstract

Educational changes present significant challenges and opportunities for organizations to grow and develop in response to evolving demands. These changes become opportunities when accompanied by appropriate behaviors at both individual and organizational levels. This study aims to examine the impact of transformational leadership on innovative behavior based on previous studies. A meta-analysis method was employed to analyze research data using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software. The findings indicate that 89% of studies meeting the inclusion criteria reported a significant effect size. The placement of square boxes in the forest plot, which do not align in a straight line, suggests variation in the results among these studies. Furthermore, the average effect size of 0.338 represents the overall influence of transformational leadership on the innovative behavior of teachers or lecturers. The heterogeneity test of effect size confirms that the estimation model applied follows a random-effects model. The highest average effects were observed in five categories: international teachers (ES = 0.55), junior high school teachers (ES = 0.39), senior high school teachers (ES = 0.32), lecturers (ES = 0.30), and elementary school teachers (ES = 0.16).).

Abstract

Background: The development of a School Strategic Plan (SSP), based on internal and external environmental analysis and aligned with the National Education Standards, is a crucial component for improving the quality of education, including in Special Needs Schools (SNS). However, many principals and teachers in SNSs have a limited understanding of strategic planning concepts. They also lack the skills to use analytical tools such as SWOT and to apply National Education Standards instruments in school planning.Aims: This community service activity aimed to enhance the competence of principals and teachers in four SNSs in Manggarai Regency through intensive and structured mentoring. Methods: The methods used included mapping surveys, material presentations, guided document revisions, and SSP evaluations. The instruments employed were pretest-posttest questionnaires on SSP, which assessed six key aspects of planning competence, existing SSP documents from the schools, and National Education Standards mapping questionnaires used to evaluate the initial implementation of quality culture. A T-test was applied to analyze differences in pretest and posttest scores, while the SSP document analysis was conducted qualitatively. Results: The mentoring results showed a significant improvement in participants’ competence in developing SSPs, as indicated by the increase in pretest-posttest questionnaire scores. A T-test confirmed a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest results (T = -62.63; P < 0.05).Conclusion: This mentoring model is both replicable and sustainable for improving the quality of educational management in Special Needs Schools and strengthening school accreditation.
