Abstract

Participation is an important factor in achieving maximum learning in achieving learning goals. However, the level of student participation in learning is still relatively low. Therefore, efforts need to be made in the form of innovation in learning to increase student participation in learning, such as implementing LSLC based on the Jigsaw learning model. This research is a descriptive study with a sample of class XI IPS 1 SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. This research aims to see the impact of LSLC on student participation in learning using the Jigsaw learning model. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that for each meeting there was a significant increase in student participation. So it can be concluded that learning using LSLC and the Jigsaw learning model has a positive impact on student participation in learning.

Abstract

Based on the results of PISA, the numeracy literacy ability of Indonesian students is very low. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve numeracy literacy both in formal learning institutions such as schools and in non-formal learning institutions such as tutoring and orphanages. One of the orphanages that is used as a place of service is the Al Hidayah Padang Orphanage. There are various limitations in both facilities, infrastructure and experts (teachers) who can guide/accompany children in the dormitory, causing children's numeracy literacy skills to be still relatively low. In addition, motivation to read and learn mathematics needs to be increased again.  Therefore, the service team seeks to help the foster children of the Al Hidayah Padang Orphanage to be able to improve their numeracy literacy skills through mentoring activities and creative games.

Abstract

Abstract

Writing scientific articles is crucial for a professional teacher. However, the reality shows that very few teachers are willing, able and accustomed to producing scientific articles. Based on the results of observations and discussions with teachers and heads of the Mathematics Teachers Association of Junior High Schools in the Northern Region of Solok Regency, it was found that teacher is facing two problems including motivation and techniques in scientific writing. Therefore, a solution to this problem is to hold data processing and scientific article writing training. The training was carried out in four stages, namely presentations and discussions, data collection, data processing with Microsoft Excel, and writing the results of data processing into a scientific article and learns how to publish it. The results of the teachers' personal self-evaluation showed that from this training there is an increase in their motivation and ability in processing data and writing scientific articles.

Abstract

A number of frameworks have been proposed to help students become more adept at solving mathematical problems, including Problem Based Learning (PBL), Research Skill Development (RSD), Blooms' Taxonomy, and Optimising Problem Solving (OPS). One of the most recent frameworks created by professionals in issue solving is the Optimising issue Solving (OPS) framework. It has been demonstrated to enhance students' ability to solve engineering-related problems. Consequently, the OPS framework might potentially be a different framework for mathematics teachers and tutors. This research aims to analyse teachers’ and tutors’ impression on the concept and structure of the OPS framework. The study are categorised into an ethnographic by using a thematic content analysis approach. It resulted in two concepts and two structures of the OPS framework that impress the mathematics teachers and tutors. The concepts are related to the non-sequential facets and the facet titles. While, the structure of the framework that impress the teachers and tutors are related to the pentagon shape, and the word and colour format. Keywords.
