Abstract

Writing gives us unique opportunities to explore ideas andinformation. By writing, we care to subjects well and make them our own.In relation to using instructional media in learning writing, the use ofpictures series can be a choice as one of many alternative ways to helpstudents learn writing. Pictures and all of their form for instance pictures ofstory, There are a lot of language activities that can be done using picturesseries. This research used experimental research. The researcher used onegroup pretest posttest design which one of pre experimental research. Thesubject of the study is the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Ngantru in theacademic year of 2014/2015. There were 33 students. The technique usedfor collecting data is pre-test and post-test and interview. Based on theresult of data, mean of pretest score is 73,03 and mean of Post Test score is84,5. It means that posttest score was higher than pretest. The result of thestudy was that the students’ progress during teaching and learning activityby using picture series in teaching writing narrative texts to effect writingskill was good. In the T-Test result, T-value = 6.424 2.0369 (T- table).The significance level 0,05. So, the Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted.KEY WORDS: Picture series and Narrative text

Abstract

ABSTRAK Hingga saat ini, Indonesia terus berjuang untuk memerangi korupsi yang terus merajalela dan menghambat kemajuan negara. Seperti gurita, korupsi semakin kuat mempengaruhi dan melilit berbagai aspek kehidupan di negeri ini. Meskipun telah dilakukan berbagai upaya untuk menahan dan memerangi korupsi, belum terlihat tanda-tanda kesuksesan. Tidak hanya terjadi di lingkup pemerintahan pusat, tetapi korupsi juga terjadi di tingkat pemerintahan desa juga sekalipun terdapat empat penyebab tindak pidana korupsi dalam level desa: pertama kepala desa kerap dijadikan sebagai ujung tombak dan melebihi dari ujung tombak, kedua kepala desa yang terpilih dari segi elektabilitas yang baik namun dari segi modalitas ekonomi sangat rentan sehingga terdapat dorongan niatan melakukan tindak pidana korupsi, ketiga posisi kepala desa menjadi pundi pundi partai politik di akar rumput, keempat kurangnya segi pengawasan dan transparansi dalam konteks penyelenggaraan pemerintahan di desa. Ada juga pengaruh eksternal yang mengakibatkan dapat terjadi korupsi tersebut yang meliputi adanya tekanan dari pihak pihak tertentu, kebijakan yang kurang jelas serta adanya celah hukum yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh oknum kepala desa untuk melakukan korupsi. Dampak dari korupsi dana desa oleh kepala desa adalah merugikan masyarakat desa, menghambat pembangunan desa, serta merusak tata kelola pemerintahan yang baik. Korupsi oleh kepala desa merupakan masalah serius di Indonesia yang memiliki dampak negatif terhadap pembangunan desa dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya yang serius untuk mencegah dan memberantas korupsi dana desa oleh kepala desa melalui peningkatan pengawasan dan transparansi dalam penggunaan dana desa, penguatan hukum, serta pemberian sanksi yang tegas terhadap pelaku korupsi. Upaya tersebut perlu dilakukan bersama-sama oleh masyarakat, pemerintah, dan pihak-pihak terkait untuk menciptakan tata kelola pemerintahan yang bersih dan efektif dalam mewujudkan pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan. Abstract

Di era digital ini, guru dituntut untuk meningkatkan literasi digital, khususnya dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran. Untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan literasi digital para guru di SDN I Notorejo, Gondang, Tulungagung, telah diadakan pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran menggunakan Canva. Pelatihan ini terdiri dari tiga tahap: pra pelatihan, pelatihan, dan pasca pelatihan. Pada tahap pra pelatihan, dilakukan persiapan seperti penyusunan acara, pengurusan izin, serta persiapan materi dan kuesioner. Tahap pelaksanaan meliputi pemberian kuesioner pra pelatihan, penyampaian materi, serta pelatihan dan pembimbingan dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran digital menggunakan Canva. Terakhir, pada tahap pasca pelatihan, dilakukan evaluasi melalui kuesioner pasca pelatihan dan juga wawancara langsung, penugasan/pembuatan proyek oleh peserta, serta penerapan media pembelajaran tersebut dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa 90% guru memberikan tanggapan positif dan tertarik menggunakan Canva untuk membuat media pembelajaran digital. Selain itu, 90% guru juga berpendapat bahwa Canva mudah digunakan dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan pelatihan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan Canva ini mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi digital guru serta menambah variasi media pembelajaran untuk memotivasi siswa. Pelatihan Canva ini berdampak positif terhadap pembelajaran, di antaranya guru menjadi lebih kreatif dalam membuat media pembelajaran, pembelajaran menjadi lebih beragam dan tidak monoton, serta terdapat perubahan yang signifikan dari pembelajaran yang biasa saja menjadi lebih menarik dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies used by teachers to increase the motivation of 10th-grade students in learning English and the factors influencing these teaching strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive methodology, this research targets English teachers and 10th-grade students at SMKN I Boyolangu. Data collection involved interviews with the 3 teacher and 10 students. The data analysis process included data reduction, data display, drawing conclusion. From the interviews to the teachers, it was found that in teaching listening skills, the teacher uses Online Videos, Podcasts, Dictation. For teaching speaking skills, Role Plays, Debates, Group Discussions, Presentations, Storytelling are applied. In reading skills instruction, Reading Circles, Guided Reading strategy are employed. For writing skills, Graphic Organizers, Peer Review, and Collaborative Writing strategy are used because students often struggle to develop their writing. The use of these strategies has shown to increase students' motivation in learning English. This is evidenced by the student difficulty index, which indicates that the exercises are of medium difficulty, making them manageable for the students without being too easy or too difficult.

Abstract

This study explores the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English learning, examining its advantages, challenges, and future opportunities. Through a systematic literature review (SLR) of 20 studies published between 2020 and 2024, the findings reveal that AI tools such as chatbots, grammar checkers, and speech recognition systems have significantly enhanced language acquisition by enabling personalized learning, immediate feedback, and engaging educational experiences. However, challenges persist, including limited accessibility in underdeveloped regions, cultural biases in AI systems, and ethical concerns about data privacy. Moreover, the lack of teacher training and disparities in AI adoption further hinder its effectiveness. This study highlights future opportunities such as hybrid learning models and immersive technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), which offer authentic simulations for language practice. By addressing these challenges and leveraging opportunities, AI can revolutionize English learning globally, making it more inclusive, accessible, and effective for learners of diverse backgrounds.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengajaran dan faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi penggunaan Canva sebagai media pengajaran keterampilan menulis pada siswa kelas X AKL-1 SMKN 1 Bandung. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas X AKL-1 yang terdiri dari 30 siswa dan 1 orang guru, penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif. Kemudian metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah proyek ini merupakan praktik terbaik dalam menggunakan Canva untuk pembelajaran menulis siswa. Dalam pengajaran menggunakan Canva sebagai media membuat siswa mudah dalam membuat desain tulisan, efisien dan bagus karena banyak template dan fitur yang tersedia. Kesulitan yang biasanya dialami siswa dalam menulis adalah kosakata, tata bahasa, dan juga menyusun kalimat menjadi paragraf. Dengan menggunakan Canva siswa lebih kreatif dalam mengerjakan tugas dan lebih percaya diri dalam mempresentasikan hasil tulisannya. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai menulis siswa yang lebih tinggi dari Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM).

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in education, changing how students learn and how teachers teach. This essay explores both the opportunities and risks of using AI in schools. On the positive side, AI supports personalized learning by adjusting materials based on students’ needs, helps teachers by automating routine tasks, and improves access for students in remote areas or with special needs. When used effectively, AI can make education more inclusive, efficient, and flexible. To examine these issues, this essay applies a descriptive–analytical–argumentative method. It begins by explaining how AI is used in education, then analyzes both its benefits and drawbacks, and finally presents a reasoned position supported by academic literature and real-world examples. The essay draws on sources from both international and Indonesian contexts to ensure relevance and balance. This topic is significant because AI adoption in education is growing rapidly, yet many institutions and educators are not fully prepared to face its ethical, pedagogical, and technological challenges. Therefore, it is suggested that schools, policymakers, and teacher-training institutions work together to create clear guidelines, ensure ethical data use, and equip teachers with the necessary skills. A thoughtful, human-centered approach is essential to ensure that AI enhances, rather than replaces, the irreplaceable role of educators.

Abstract

Tongue twister is one method of learning pronunciation that students find interesting and fun. Tongue twisters are phrases that are hard to say quickly, usually because they sound similar yet different. This research aims to find out how the implementation of tongue twister in learning pronunciation at SMKN 1 Bandung, especially in the extracurricular English Club. researchers in this case used a qualitative descriptive analysis method. three research tools, namely observation and teacher interviews and student questionnaire sheets, were used to collect data. 1 teacher as well as 8 student of the English Club of SMKN 1 Bandung in the academic year 2024/2025 were used as research participants. Findings show that using tongue twisters-combined with repetition, gradual speed increase, and rhythmic patterns-helps students articulate words more clearly, gain confidence, and enjoy the learning process. The teacher's integration of music and student creativity also played a role in enhancing engagement.

Abstract

English songs can be a fun and effective medium for learning English pronunciation. This study aims to explore students' perceptions of the use of English songs in learning pronunciation at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung, specifically in the extracurricular English Club for the 2024/2025 academic year. This study used a descriptive qualitative method involving questionnaires and interviews with 10 students as participants. The results of the questionnaires and interviews showed that most of the students 8 out of 10 had positive perceptions. Students stated that songs made learning pronunciation more fun, easy to remember, and increased confidence in speaking. However, 2 students preferred other methods such as movies or live teacher practice. Overall, however, it can be concluded that English songs in pronunciation learning are still seen as a motivating and helpful medium in pronunciation learning.

Abstract

This program aimed to enhance the digital competence of elementary school teachers through training on the use of digital technology in English language teaching. The training was conducted at MI Nurul Huda Semarum on July 24–26, 2025, involving six teachers as participants. The activity adopted an andragogical, hands-on training approach consisting of orientation, demonstration, simulation, and evaluation stages. The applications introduced were Wordwall, Wayground, and Duolingo. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and digital skills, with an average increase of 38% between the pre-test and post-test scores. The average score for the participants’ digital media projects was 21.2 (categorized as Good–Excellent), and the satisfaction survey revealed an average score of 4.6 out of 5 (Very Satisfied). Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and were able to create interactive teaching materials independently. Overall, the program effectively improved teachers’ ability to integrate digital technology into English language learning in a more interactive and contextual manner.
