Abstract

Traffic congestion in Ubud, Bali, is a significant issue affecting both the quality of tourist experiences and the daily lives of residents. The Teman Bus program, a public transportation initiative, is expected to alleviate congestion by providing a more efficient mass transit alternative. However, the program's implementation faces challenges, particularly regarding the bus sizes that are unsuitable for Ubud's narrow roads, as well as criticism from local residents who feel its contribution to reducing congestion has been minimal. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Teman Bus program on traffic congestion in Ubud from the perspectives of local residents and tourists. Data were collected through surveys and interviews with Ubud residents and tourists who use the Teman Bus service. The findings indicate that while Teman Bus has the potential to reduce congestion, its effectiveness is limited by the mismatch between bus sizes and road conditions, as well as the lack of awareness and information about the service. Recommendations include the use of smaller buses, improvements to routes and schedules, and enhanced outreach to both local communities and tourists. The study concludes that achieving the goal of reducing congestion requires adjustments to the implementation of the Teman Bus program to better align with the needs of Ubud's local and tourism sectors.

Abstract

Introduction: While art museums are ubiquitous cultural institutions, their role in enhancing psychological well-being remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by investigating how art museum visits influence multidimensional psychological well-being, offering novel insights into their societal purpose beyond education and tourism. Methodology: A survey was conducted with 40 visitors at Bali’s Pasifika Museum, utilizing an adapted version of Ryff’s (1989) Psychological Well-Being Scale (α = 0.889). Descriptive statistical analysis was applied to assess six well-being dimensions: autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relationships, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. The sampling technique used in this research is incidental sampling technique. Findings: Results revealed significant improvements in psychological well-being, with an average score of 102.75 (range: 70–126), Personal growth and positive relationships emerged as the most impacted dimensions, highlighting art museums’ capacity to foster self-discovery and social connection. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that art museums function not merely as repositories of culture but as accessible spaces for mental and emotional flourishing. Practically, the findings advocate for museums to design exhibits prioritizing interactive engagement and cross-cultural narratives, positioning museums as wellness destinations. However, the study’s limitations include the modest sample size, non-representative incidental sampling, and single-site focus restricting generalizability across cultural contexts.

Abstract

This research explores strategic approaches to optimizing the management of the Half Day Sunset Over Uluwatu and Kecak Dance tour package at PT Destination Asia, aiming to boost tourist satisfaction—particularly by highlighting the artistic significance of the Kecak dance. A qualitative methodology was adopted, incorporating POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) and SWOT analysis frameworks. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and questionnaires distributed to tourists who took part in the tour. The results emphasize that successful tour operations depend on meticulous planning, including the appropriate selection of tour guides, effective destination communication, and streamlined logistics. The SWOT analysis identified core strengths in cultural components, especially the Kecak dance, a distinctive Balinese performance rooted in Hindu epics, known for its hypnotic chanting and dynamic choreography. However, some challenges persist, such as discomfort for the audience during the show and technical inefficiencies in ticketing and crowd control. As the emotional and artistic centerpiece of the tour, the Kecak dance provides not only entertainment but also a deep cultural experience. To further enrich this experience, improvements in storytelling, stage aesthetics, and audience interaction are recommended. By implementing POAC strategies and drawing on insights from the SWOT analysis, PT Destination Asia can enhance its tour service quality, resolve current limitations, and deliver a more engaging and culturally enriching experience for visitors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how to make decisions of Gen Z influence of the current COVID-19 public health crisis on consumer risk perceptions, and what is more significant is how risk perceptions have the potential to influence tourist post-crisis recovery travel behavior. The research sample had 250 respondents. Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millennials value input from their Gen Z kids. Gen Z is an individual from the most recent generation born between 1995 and early 2012. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed in this quantitative study. The result was: (1) Perceived Risk has no effect on Gen Z Travel Decision which a coefficient value is 0.061 (2) e-WOM Argument Quality (Online Review) has significantly influenced Gen Z Travel Decision which a coefficient value of 0.394 (3) Price has no effect on Gen Z Travel decision which the coefficient value is 0.375. The goal of the growth strategy is to increase sales, assets, earnings, or a combination of the three. This can be done through reducing costs, creating new items, improving the quality of existing products or services, or gaining access to a larger market. That approach may be used in other places that could become popular tourist destinations.
