Abstract

ABSTRACT: The present study aims to determine the effect of conwy fertilizer concentration on the growth of Gracilaria sp. cultivated on a laboratory scale. This research was conducted at the Multitrophic Laboratory of the Hasanuddin University Research Activity Center, Makassar. A completely randomized design was applied for 3 treatments: PC1 treatment (0.5 ml of conwy fertilizer); PC2 treatment (1 ml fertilizer conwy); and PC3 treatment (1.5 ml of conwy fertilizer) and 3 replicates for each treatment. The growth, performance, pigment and water quality were recorded. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed. The results obtained were PC 1 treatment was the treatment that had the highest growth with an average of 13.41%, followed by PC 2 treatment at 12.48% and the lowest treatment occurred in treatment to PC 3 with an average growth of 12.09%. ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi pupuk conwy terhadap pertumbuhan rumput laut Gracilaria sp. yang dibudidayakan dalam skala laboratorium. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Multitrofik Pusat Kegiatan Penelitian Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental RAL (Rangkaian Acak Lengkap) 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan, antara lain perlakuan PC1 (0,5 ml pupuk conwy); perlakuan PC2 (1 ml pupuk conwy); dan perlakuan PC3 (1,5 ml pupuk conwy). Parameter uji yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu pertumbuhan, pigmen dan kualitas air. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA). Data yang menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut W-Tukey. Hasil yang diperoleh perlakuan PC 1 merupakan perlakuan yang memiliki pertumbuhan yang paling tinggi dengan rata-rata 13,41%, diikuti pada perlakuan PC 2 12.48% dan perlakuan yang terendah terjadi pada perlakuan ke PC 3 dengan pertumbuhan rata-rata 12.09%.

Abstract

Salah satu tantangan dalam pemanfaatan kawasan ekosistem mangrove adalah pemanfaatan yang mampu meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekaligus mempertahankan atau meningkatkan kualitas ekosistem mangrove agar tetap lestari dan berkelanjutan. Pengelolaan kawasan mangrove dengan konsep ekowisata memadukan unsur wisata, peningkatan perekonomian, edukasi dan konservasi di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi dan menghitung nilai potensi penawaran ekowisata di kawasan Gonda Mangrove Park; dan (2) mengidentifikasi dan menghitung nilai potensi permintaan ekowisata di kawasan Gonda Mangrove Park. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif melalui observasi, wawancara dengan responden pakar, dan studi dokumentasi. Kuesioner disusun menggunakan modifikasi pendekatan Kriteria Pengembangan ADO-ODTWA Dirjen PHKA (2003) dan Kriteria Pengembangan Ekowisata menurut Damanik dan Weber (2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  potensi penawaran ekowisata Gonda Mangrove Park sebesar 2.785 (klasifikasi tinggi). Pada aspek permintaan, karakteristik pengunjung berusia 21-30 tahun; didominasi pelajar SMA/SMK; jenis kegiatan yang paling disukai yaitu menikmati pemandangan; tipe kunjungan lebih banyak bersama teman; frekuensi kunjungan umumnya jarang dengan jumlah minimal kunjungan lebih dari 1 kali dalam setahun; harapan pengunjung lebih banyak pada penyediaan fasilitas toilet dan air bersih; tingkat kemudahan aksesibilitas cukup mudah diakses oleh pengunjung; dan waktu kunjungan lebih banyak dilakukan pada pagi dan sore hari.

Abstract

Rumput laut Gracilaria sp. merupakan salah satu rumput laut yang memiliki potensi sebagai penghasil agar, yang banyak dimanfaatkan dalam bebagai industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan rumput laut Gracilaria sp. dalam beradaptasi dan tumbuh secara optimal pada skala laboratorium dengan meniru kondisi lingkungan alaminya. Metode penelitian menggunakan tiga wadah styrofoam berisi air laut yang telah disaring dan diaerasi, diisi dengan substrat pasir dan potongan karang, serta bibit rumput laut sebanyak 200 gram per wadah. Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 28 hari dengan pemantauan harian terhadap parameter kualitas air seperti suhu, salinitas, pH dan oksigen terlarut (DO), sedangkan nitrat dan fosfat diukur pada awal dan akhir penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan negatif pada semua wadah (A1: -82; A2: -61; A3: -100), yang disebabkan oleh stres adaptasi, kualitas air yang buruk dan pencahayaan tidak optimal. Parameter kualitas air seperti suhu sore hari (28,74–29,25°C) melebihi kisaran optimal (20–28°C), sedangkan kadar fosfat (0,526–1,210 mg/L) dan nitrat (10–25 mg/L) jauh melebihi batas optimal (fosfat: 0,051–0,100 mg/L; nitrat: 1–3 mg/L). Meskipun salinitas (32,82–33 ppt) dan pH (8,08–8,29) berada dalam kisaran yang sesuai, tingginya kadar nutrien dan ketidakstabilan suhu menjadi faktor penghambat utama. Keberhasilan budidaya Gracilaria sp. memerlukan pengendalian ketat terhadap parameter lingkungan, terutama suhu, pencahayaan dan kadar nutrien.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pakan ikan bandeng melalui pemanfaatan limbah lokal seperti ampas tahu dan rumput laut Padina australis di Kelurahan Baurung, Kabupaten Majene. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, demonstrasi pembuatan pakan, serta pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan pakan alternatif, pengaturan nutrisi, serta manfaat ekonomi dan ekologis dari pemanfaatan limbah lokal. Peserta juga terlibat aktif dalam sesi tanya jawab dan demonstrasi, menunjukkan kesiapan mereka untuk mengadopsi inovasi ini. Kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan solusi ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan bagi pembudidaya ikan bandeng, sekaligus mendukung praktik budidaya yang berkelanjutan. Kata kunci: ampas tahu; budidaya; ikan bandeng; padina australis; pakan. Abstract This community service activity aims to improve the quality of milkfish feed through the utilization of local waste such as tofu dregs and Padina australis seaweed in Baurung Village, Majene Regency. The methods used include socialization, feed production demonstrations, as well as pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in participants' understanding. The results show a significant improvement in community knowledge about alternative feed production, nutrient regulation, and the economic and ecological benefits of utilizing local waste. Participants were also actively involved in Q&A sessions and demonstrations, indicating their readiness to adopt this innovation. This activity successfully provides an economical and environmentally friendly solution for milkfish farmers, while supporting sustainable aquaculture practices. Keywords: aquaculture; feed, milkfish; padina australis; tofu dregs.

Abstract

The need for food fulfillment at the national level is currently the government's concern, community forests have a role in contributing to efforts to increase food potential, the implementation of MPTS is a good strategy for food oriented community forest management. Paku Village, Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency is one of the areas that has an area of 1000 Ha, which also produces MPTS. The aim of this research was to determine the frequency of MPTS in the community forest of Paku Village. The method used in this research was the descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the percentage of MPTS and forest wood in the community forest of Paku Village was 63,32% and 36,68%. The highest percentage of MPTS presence in Paku Village is cocoa as much as 41,46% and the lowest is coconut, sugar palm, guava, oranges, kedondong as much as 0,61%, MPTS frequency from 12 plots obtained the percentage of presence of one hightest frequency is 80,4% with the attendance value of one to five MPTS.

Abstract

Realizing the importance of the necessities of life that come from natural resources, a solution is needed to combine ecological and economic aspects to that they cas work together and in balance. Local wisdom plays a role in managing the natural resources of the environment. This study aims to determine local wisdom in the management of mangrove forest ecosystems in Gonda Mangrove Park, Campalagian District, Polewali Mandar Regency. This research was conducted from May to June 2021. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method using observation data colletion techniques, interviews using interview guides, and documentation. The result of the research show that local community wisdom in the management of mangrove forest ecosystem in Gonda includes: Diposara’ mappaleo’ and there are mystical stories of the community, as well as the use of mangrove forest products by the community such as the use of Salaq’-salaq’ (Bruguiera gymnorhiza) and Lawo-lawo (Xylocarpus granatum) fruit.

Abstract

Conversion of forest land is one of the phenomena of changing forest land into agricultural land. This research was carried out in Manyamba Village, Tammerodo Sendana District, Majene Regency, from September to November 2020. The aim of this research was to knowing the factors causing forest land conversion and to find out the socio-economic impact of forest land conversion on the income of farmers in Manyamba Village, Tammerodo Sendana District Majene Regency. The benefit of conducting this research is as information material and input for the government and farmers in Manyamba Village, Tamerodo Sendana District. Determination of the population and sample in this study was carried out using the snowball method. The types and sources of data are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study showed that the main factors behind the respondents conversion of forest land were daily needs and the number of dependents of family members which tended to be large, thereby increasing the household income of farmers as well. The socio-economic impact the conversion of forest areas carried out by the people of Manyamba Village, namely changes in livelihoods that were originally produces from durian and rattan but after conversion of forest land can generate new income from fields of paddy, cloves, corn, lemongrass and bananas. Changes in post-conversion land-owning farmer household income, there are two categories, namely (1) the income of land-owning farmers who have increased and succeeded in meeting the daily needs of their families. (2) changes in household income after forest area conversion.

Abstract

River Basin Areas (DAS) are part of regional development in Indonesia, which are interconnected with ecological concepts and involve reciprocal relationships among actors within an ecosystem. The increasing natural disasters experienced, such as floods, landslides, and droughts as a result of watershed damage, have become a serious concern. Therefore, there is a need for integrated watershed management that must involve stakeholders in natural resource management, which consists of various elements such as the community and the government, with principles of integration, equality, and a commitment to implementing sustainable natural resource management. The purpose of this research is to identify the roles and what the community has experienced in the Liawan sub-watershed, as well as to understand the performance perceived by the community in the management of the sub-watershed. This research is a qualitative study using stakeholder analysis. The results of this study indicate that several stakeholders involved in the management of the Liawan Watershed include the Provincial Forestry Office of West Sulawesi, the Tourism Office, the Karama Watershed Management Agency, the Central Mamasa Forest Management Unit, the Head of Tadisi Village, the Community of https://www.adenomyosisadviceassociation.org/hysterectomy Tadisi Village, Academics, and the Community of Tadisi Village. The assessment of watershed management performance perceived by the community based on interview results indicates that the community experiences economic benefits through social forestry programs, assistance with agricultural tools and seeds, as well as training in sustainable farming techniques. The good performance of Sub-Watershed management is perceived to provide economic benefits, improve environmental quality, and strengthen community participation in decision-making related to natural resource management in their area.

Abstract

Ulidang Village, part of the Tameroddo Sub-district, has excellent potential in the fisheries and marine sector, although it still faces significant economic challenges. The potential of seaweed as a marine resource that has yet to be fully utilized is the focus of this activity. The main objective is to provide comprehensive counseling on the potential of seaweed, including cultivation methods, nutritional content, and business management aspects. This activity's implementation stage starts with planning, program implementation, and evaluation. The research results showed that socialization efforts, including explanations of seaweed potential, business management, and farming profit simulations, have provided the community with a deep understanding. The pretest and post-test evaluations illustrated the improvement in participants' understanding after the socialization activities. Thus, the development of seaweed farming in Ulidang Village can be a solution to improve community welfare, create jobs, and care for the marine environment. Strategic steps include strong partnerships, community empowerment, and adoption of innovations to ensure the sustainability of seaweed farming at the local and national levels.
