Abstract

This research presents a study analyzing the transitivity process of several descriptive texts in the English textbook or Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) for sixth-grade elementary school. Few researches have focused on the transitivity process in students' writing, while the transitivity process has been identified in textbooks in this research. The purpose of this research is to investigate how transitivity process are used in textbook (LKS) and to identify the most frequently used. This research analyzed eight textbook descriptive texts using a descriptive quantitative method. To analyze the data, the researcher used Halliday's systemic functional grammar theory of transitivity. The analysis revealed that there were only four transitivity process that appeared in the textbook, there were relational process (42.23%), material process (32.31%), existential process (15.38%), and mental process (1.54%), also behavioral process and verbal process did not appear. This shows relational process used in descriptive text to describe function. Material process also used in descriptive text to give physical movement.

Abstract

The main and most frequent impact of social media is cyber crime or crimes that occur around social media using internet networks. Cybercrime that often occurs is cyberbullying. The formulation of this problem includes what factors cause social media users to commit criminal acts of cyberbullying, and how effective the implementation of the ITE Law is on the role of criminal acts of cyberbullying on social media. The aim of this research is what factors cause a person or perpetrator to commit cyberbullying crimes, and to determine the effectiveness of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law in cases of cyberbullying on social media. The method used is the Normative Law method. The theory to assist this research uses differential association theory from Legal Criminology. This research obtained 5 (five) factors that cause a person/perpetrator to commit cyberbullying including, individual factors, school factors, peer factors/playmate factors, family factors, and factors using social media. Apart from that, the effectiveness of the ITE Law on social media has its pros and cons, there are those who respond that the ITE Law is effective, but there are also those who respond that it is not yet effective. However, if you look at the existing regulations, they are said to be effective because they have resolved problems using electronic media, but it comes back to law enforcement.Keywords: Effectiveness, Cyberbullying, Social Media

Abstract

Background. With the rapid development of information technology, the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia is increasing. However, the legal regulations governing the use of these platforms are still limited and often inadequate. This poses a variety of challenges, including data security, copyright, and access equality issues. Purpose. This study aims to identify the challenges faced in the regulation of the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia and to formulate solutions that can be implemented to overcome these challenges. Method. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods and in-depth interviews. The literature study was conducted to collect secondary data from various literature related to legal regulations and online learning platforms. In-depth interviews were conducted with experts in the fields of law, information technology, and education to gain deeper insights. Results. The results of the study show that the main challenges in regulating the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia include the lack of data security standards, weak copyright protection, and limited access for students in remote areas. In addition, the lack of coordination between relevant government agencies is also an obstacle to the effective implementation of regulations. Conclusion. This study concludes that to overcome the challenges in regulating the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia, comprehensive regulatory updates and better coordination between government agencies are needed. In addition, there is a need to increase awareness about the importance of data security and copyright among users and providers of online learning platforms. The implementation of these solutions is expected to increase effectiveness and fairness in the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study was a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature of Academic Writing in various higher education contexts and mapped the current state of the trend as well as identified gap for future research. 991 documents were retrieved on Academic Writing in Higher Education from database citation index Scopus (2013 to 2022) under certain conditions. The documents were then analyzed using OpenRefine version 3.5.2, VOSviewer version 1.6.17 from Leiden University, Microsoft Excel and Tableu Desktop from the perspectives of the number of yearly publications, countries, authors, citation numbers, and keywords. The findings show that the number of publications on Academic Writing is generally growing.The research topics shows that academic writing instruction across classroom contexts reflect the 21st century life skills and learning through students’ active participation, i.e. peer assessment, peer learning, and self-regulation. Likewise, information, media and technology are instilled through e-learning and computer-aided instruction. Last, the functional view of grammar in academic writing establishes new research focus.

Abstract

Research Background: English language education has evolved significantly in recent decades, especially with the increasing use of visual resources in teaching. The use of visual resources such as images, videos, and infographics has become an integral part of modern pedagogy, known as multimodal pedagogy. This research was conducted to understand how teachers utilize visual resources in their teaching practices in English classrooms. Research Objective: This study aims to explore and document multimodal pedagogical practices used by English teachers in utilizing visual resources to enhance students' learning experience. Research Method: This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and analysis of teaching documents. Observations were made at several junior high schools in major cities, and interviews were conducted with ten experienced English teachers. Research Results: The results show that teachers use a variety of visual resources to support their teaching. The use of relevant images and videos helps students understand the subject matter better. In addition, infographics and visual sketches are used to explain complex concepts. Teachers also incorporate digital technologies such as multimedia presentations to make learning more interactive and engaging. Research Conclusion: This study concludes that the use of visual resources in multimodal pedagogy practices is very effective in increasing students' understanding and involvement in the teaching and learning process. Teachers who use this strategy succeed in creating a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, which ultimately improves student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Lesson Study for Learning Community is very important be implemented in schools considering that it will have many positive impacts to  teachers who still need professional development. Lesson Study for Learning Community training was held at SMK Bhinneka Karawang using in a workshop. The material presented is divided into 3 parts, namely 1) Planning Stage (Plan), 2) Reflection Stage (See), and 3) Implementation Stage (Do). By implementing the Lesson Study for Learning Community Training at the Bhinneka Karawang Vocational School, it can improve the quality of learning that prioritizes student-centered learning, as well as the establishment of learning communities among teachers and students that are useful for increasing the effectiveness of academic communication in order to improve the quality of learning. Lesson Study for Learning Community sangat penting agar bisa dilaksanakan di sekolah karena akan memberikan banyak dampak positif. Selain itu, guru masih memerlukan pengembangan keprofesionalannya. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan Lesson Study for Learning Community ini diselenggarakan di SMK Bhinneka Karawang dengan menggunakan pendekatan workshop. Materi yang disajikan terbagi menjadi 3 bagian yaitu 1)Tahap Perencanaan (Plan), 2) Tahap Refleksi (See), dan 3) Tahap Pelaksanaan (Do). Dengan telah dilaksanakannya Pelatihan Lesson Study for Learning Community di SMK Bhinneka Karawang, para guru dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang mengutamakan layanan hak belajar siswa, serta terbangunnya komunitas belajar antar-guru, antar-siswa, dan antara siswa dengan guru yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan keefektifan komunikasi akademik dalam rangka memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi Komunikasi (TIK) dalam dunia pendidikan memiliki peranan yang penting. Salah satu amanat Undang-undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 tentang Dosen dan Guru adalah untuk memiliki kompetensi sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman, termasuk menguasai TIK. Guru harus memahami hak asasi digital seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi pembelajaran dan prioritas pemerintah untuk program digitalisasi pendidikan. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendukung para guru RA At-Taqwa Kelapadua Tanjungbungin di Kecamatan Pakisjaya, Kabupaten Karawang menguasai TIK dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan serta demontrasi tentang hak asasi digital dan keamanan siber. Program pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan metode Experiential Learning melalui demonstrasi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru tentang hak asasi digital dan keamanan siber. Kegiatan terdiri dari tiga tahap: persiapan, pelaksanaan (sosialisasi, pembelajaran, demonstrasi), dan evaluasi menggunakan kuesioner skala Likert. Kegiatan PkM di RA At-Taqwa Kelapadua, Karawang, diikuti 45 guru RA. Pelatihan meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang hak asasi digital dan keamanan siber. Evaluasi menunjukkan guru memiliki kompetensi digital kategori "baik," terutama dalam kesadaran risiko dan perlindungan data pribadi. Namun, aspek terendah adalah membagikan informasi pribadi secara aman. Diskusi interaktif membantu guru mengenali ancaman dunia maya dan membimbing siswa. Hasil ini sejalan dengan penelitian global tentang pentingnya kesadaran digital dalam pendidikan. Oleh Karena itu, pelatihan Hak Asasi Digital berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman guru dan menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi dalam meningkatkan literasi digital.

Abstract

Edukasi lingkungan sejak dini memiliki peran fundamental dalam membentuk generasi yang peduli dan bertanggung jawab terhadap kelestarian alam. Namun, metode konvensional seringkali kurang efektif dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna. Melalui kegiatan read-aloud cerita bertema lingkungan, program ini menghadirkan pendekatan interaktif yang tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi, tetapi juga membangun keterlibatan emosional siswa sekolah dasar. Diharapkan, metode ini dapat menginspirasi aksi nyata pelajar sekaligus memperkuat literasi baca, dengan dukungan kolaboratif guru dan komunitas lokal. Tujuan: Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan pada siswa sekolah dasar melalui metode read-aloud, yaitu membacakan cerita anak dengan tema lingkungan secara ekspresif dan interaktif. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SDN 02 Karangreja, di Kabupaten Bekasi, melibatkan siswa kelas 1 sebanyak 40 orang. Tahapan pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan materi, sosialisasi kepada guru, pelaksanaan sesi read-aloud dan aksi nyata penanaman pohon, serta evaluasi dampak melalui observasi dan wawancara terhadap siswa, guru dan orang tua. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa metode read-aloud tidak hanya memperkuat pemahaman, tetapi juga memotivasi aksi konkret seperti membuang sampah pada tempatnya dan mengurangi penggunaan plastik. Antusiasme siswa terlihat dari tanggapan positif seperti "seru" dan "menyenangkan", membuktikan pendekatan ini efektif menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan sekaligus menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang berkesan. Program yang menggabungkan metode read-aloud cerita "Monster Plastik" dengan aksi nyata berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang dampak sampah terhadap lingkungan, termasuk penyebab banjir dan longsor. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan literasi berbasis cerita dapat menjadi sarana efektif dalam pendidikan karakter lingkungan.

Abstract

The facts in the field, there are a number of customers who do not use Mobile Banking services, the problem is that banks have provided services but customers do not use Mobile Banking services and prefer manual transactions. This study aims to determine the effect of perceived ease of use, knowledge, and trust on the decision to use Islamic bank Mobile Banking services. The research discussion relates to banking services, namely services that discuss ease of use, knowledge, trust and decisions to use Islamic bank Mobile Banking services. This research is a quantitative research with multiple linear regression analysis, the data source used is primary data through questionnaires. The population of this study was the Padangsidimpuan community, the sample in this study used an accidental sampling technique, with 98 respondents. knowledge and trust have an influence on decisions to use Mobile Banking services. And simultaneously (F test) ease of use, trust and knowledge have a significant influence on the decision to use Mobile Banking services.Keywords: Determinant, Decision, Mobile Banking Service

Abstract

Gender awareness is an important aspect of education that is often under-emphasized in the curriculum. Gender inequality and stereotypes still occur in various environments, including schools. Picture stories with the theme of feminism can be an effective tool in increasing gender awareness among students, especially in language classes that often use literature as a learning medium. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using feminism-themed picture stories in increasing students' gender awareness in language classes. The study also aims to see the extent to which illustrated stories can change students' views on gender roles and gender inequality. This study uses a classroom action research method (CAR) which involves two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The participants in this study are students of a language class at a high school in Indonesia. The results of the study show that the use of picture stories with the theme of feminism can significantly increase students' gender awareness. Students become more critical of gender stereotypes and better understand the importance of gender equality. In addition, illustrated stories help students to be more involved in class discussions and voice their views on gender issues. Picture stories with the theme of feminism are an effective tool to increase gender awareness in language classes. This method not only improves students' understanding of gender issues, but also encourages their active participation in class discussions. The use of this media is expected to be adopted more widely in education to reduce gender inequality and form a more gender-conscious generation.
