Abstract

This research was addressed to study the effect of plant growth media composition and nutrients concentration on yield of Cucumis melo L. The research was designed in complete factorial test of 4x4 with three replicates. Mixed growth media of bokashi:cocopeat:husk charcoal were tested in four compositions, i.e. 90%:5%:5% (M1), 80%:10%:10%(M2), 70%:15%:15% (M3) and 60%:20%:20% (M4) respectively. The other tested factor was nutrients concentraion that consists of four levels, i.e. control/no nutrient given (K0), 2 g/L (K1), 4 g/L (K2) and 6 g/L (K3). The Action 434 variety of Cucumis melo L. seedlings were then transplanted into 10 kg’s polybag and allowed to grow till harvested. The results showed that Chlorophyll content of M1 plants were higher than others, but the highest sugar content was resulted by M3 plants, and the highest thick of flesh fruit was resulted by interaction 60% bokashi:20% cocopeat:20% husk charcoal with 4 g/L nutrient concentration.

Abstract

The main objective of this training program is to train community groups in the production process and branding packaging (packaging) of brown sugar for the products produced by the group of beneficiaries. The training location is in Gumuk Agung Village, Gintangan Village, Banyuwangi Regency. The method used is the method of lecture, discussion and practice. This socialization (training) was given to Sinar and Tunas Jaya Gintangan Banyuwangi groups. The results achieved in this community partnership program are partners who understand about the production process of good brown sugar with hygienic conditions of materials and tools so as to produce healthy and quality products, besides the diversification of products in the form of ant sugar can be an additional producer for Gumuk Agung, and with the packaging of attractive products for brown sugar and ant sugar the products sold are bought to consumers becoming more attractive and value-added.

Abstract

 The research was aim to study the effect of NaCl on callus of sugarcane varieties Bululawang. This experiment has been conducted in Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Faculty of Agiculture, University of Jember from December 2012 to Mei 2013. The experiment which consists of four levels concentration of NaCl : 0 g/l (K0), 4 g/l (K1), 8 g/l (K2), 12 g/l (K3), and 16 g/l (K4). Each treatment consists of four replications. The experiment consisted of three stages: callus induced, salinity strees of callus, and shoot regeneration of sugarcane on various rate NaCl. Observations conducted qualitative description of the parameters of the color of callus , callus structure and shoot regeneration. The results of this experiment indicated that the callus of sugarcane varieties Bululawang experienced salinity stres of NaCl at 4 g/l showed symptom degradation of color to yellow with sticky crumb structure. Increasing consentrations of NaCl 8-16 g/l lead callus color being tawny until black with sticky crumb structure. Salinity stres with consentrations of NaCl at 4 g/l caused callus is not able to regenerate to form buds and increase callus cell death.

Abstract

Tanaman padi hitam memiliki ciri yaitu warna gabah kuning, warna beras hitam, tekstur nasi lebih pulen dengan rasa nasi enak. Tanaman ini berumur genjah yaitu umur panen 120 hari setelah tanam (hst) memiliki anakan produktif 9-13 batang. Beras hitam tergolong pangan fungsional karena mengandung senyawa yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Beras hitam memiliki kandungan antosianin tinggi yang terletak pada lapisan perikarp, yang memberikan warna ungu gelap. Sayangnya, tingginya kandungan nutrisi yang dimiliki oleh beras hitam tidak diimbangi dengan ketersediaan beras hitam yang cukup di pasaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah bibit perlubang terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman padi hitam. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan yaitu : L1 ( 1 bibit per lubang) , L2 ( 2 bibit per lubang), L3 ( 3 bibit per lubang). Perlakuan L1 menunjukkan hasil berbeda nyata pada semua variabel yang diamati. Semakin banyak jumlah bibit perlubang memberikan hasil yang kurang bagus terhadap pertumbuhan dan jumlah anakan pada tanaman padi hitam.

Abstract

FMS technology is a digital platform designed to collect environmental information on plant growth, microclimate monitoring and automation of fertilization and irrigation of cultivated plants. The FMS application has 4 main functions, namely land digitization, soil nutrient condition monitoring system (agrooscane), climate monitoring system (agrooclimate), monitoring and automation of fertilization and irrigation (agroomation). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using agroscan, agroclimate, and agroomation tools on cultivated land in Kumendung Village, Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. This research method uses the experimental method. The results of the study, namely the FMS agroscan technology, are effectively used to recommend improving soil pH, adding N, P, and K fertilizer inputs according to the needs of cultivated plant commodities. FMS agroclimate technology, effective for monitoring microclimate (temperature, humidity, rainfall, irradiation duration, and wind speed). The data displayed in the FMS agrooclimate can be used for consideration in determining crop timing, using varieties resistant to pests and diseases that develop in cultivation environments, crop rotation, fertilizing and irrigation times. FMS Agroomation technology is effectively used for setting fertilization and irrigation schedules.

Abstract

Kecukupan nutrisi dalam tanah menjadi faktor penting dalam mendapatkan hasil panen terbaik. Penerapan metode smart farming membantu mengidentifikasi kondisi tanah yang berpengaruh pada kebutuhan nutrisi tanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian pendahuluan ini adalah mengetahui respon perkembangan buah terhadap dosis penambahan asam humat, sehingga dapat dijadikan acuan dasar untuk data penerapan metode smart farming pada budidaya tanaman semangka di lahan sub optimal Desa Kumendung. Penelitian menggunakan faktor pemberian asam humat empat konsentrasi berbeda (0, 2, 4, 6, dan 8 g/L) dengan varietas semangka Amara dan Seri F1. Pengamatan meliputi pengukuran terhadap tinggi tanaman (21 hst), berat buah (kg), volume buah (cm3) dan nilai total kandungan gula (Brix). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian asam humat secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap berat dan total gula buah. Perbedaan dosis tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap volume dan tinggi tanaman, ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji ANOVA nilai R square respon tinggi tanaman, berat, volume dan total gula buah secara berturut-turut adalah 0,231, 0,644, 0,383 dan 0,547. Angka tersebut menjelaskan bahwa peningkatan dosis asam humat tidak memberikan perubahan nyata pada hasil panen buah semangka. Dengan demikian, penggunaan asam humat sebagai suplemen hara tanah dapat diminimalisir dengan pemberian dosis paling rendahnya yaitu 2 g/L. Kata kunci: asam humat, smart farming, semangka

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan tentang optimalisasi penggunaan lahan pekarangan di sekitar Desa Genteng Kulon, Kecamatan Genteng, Kabupaten Banyuwangi, meningkatkan pemahaman kader PKK dan ibu rumah tangga mengenai pentingnya pekarangan dari segi sosial, ekonomi, dan ekologi, melatih kader PKK dan ibu rumah tangga dalam manajemen intensif pekarangan dan analisis ekonomi hasil usaha, dan mengajarkan teknik budidaya sayuran dan buah yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan ceramah dan praktik langsung di lapangan, dengan peserta terdiri dari 31 anggota tim PKK desa. Hasilnya mencakup peningkatan pengetahuan peserta tentang pengoptimalan penggunaan lahan pekarangan, kesadaran yang lebih baik mengenai pentingnya pekarangan dari segi sosial, ekonomi, dan ekologi, serta dimulainya manajemen intensif pekarangan, analisis ekonomi usaha, dan penerapan teknik budidaya yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Chili pepper is a high-value horticultural crop that has significant nutritional and economic value. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) play a vital role in enhancing plant growth and productivity while supporting sustainable agriculture. This study evaluated the effect of PGPR derived from sugarcane roots and mimosa roots applied to chili pepper plants. The study was conducted using a factorial randomized complete block design. The first factor was the concentration of sugarcane root PGPR (0, 10, 20, 30 mL L-1), and the second factor was the mimosa root PGPR (0, 10, 20, 30 mL L-1). Observation variables included nitrogen uptake, plant height, flowering age, and fruit weight. The results showed that the application of sugarcane root PGPR had a significant effect on plant height and nitrogen uptake, with a concentration of 20 mL L-1 producing the highest nitrogen uptake (1.66 g). PGPR from mimosa root significantly affected flowering age and fruit weight, with a concentration of 30 mL L-1 significantly increasing fruit weight. However, the combination of both types of PGPR did not have a significant effect on all the variables observed. Thus, the application of PGPR from sugarcane root and mimosa root separately effectively increased the growth and yield of chili pepper plants, while the combination of both did not show a synergistic effect.
