Abstract

ABSTRACTHypertension is the most commonly encountered problems experienced by the elderly with sometimes unknown cause. One effort to lower blood pressure in the elderly is to provide yoga exercises, where yoga exercises can stimulate endorphin hormone expenditure. The purpose of review was to determine the effectiveness of yoga exercises for decreasing blood pressure in the elderly. An initial search for articles was done on Google Scholar and PubMed. Studies obtained about exercise therapy for hypertension elderly have 4,560 articles / journals but only 5 articles meet the search criteria. According to the search results, yoga exercises can reduce blood pressure in the elderly. Besides, it is also very important to be applied as a non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly who have a medical history of hypertension. It is expected that health professionals can recommend this as a therapy for lowering blood pressure in the elderly.  ABSTRAKHipertensi adalah masalah yang paling sering ditemui yang dialami oleh lansia dengan penyebab yang terkadang tidak diketahui. Salah satu upaya menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia adalah dengan memberikan senam yoga, dimana senam yoga dapat merangsang pengeluaran hormon endorphin. Tujuan review adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan senam yoga dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia. Pencarian awal untuk artikel dilakukan di Google Scholar dan PubMed. Studi tentang terapi senam lansia hipertensi didapatkan 4.560 artikel / jurnal tetapi hanya 5 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria pencarian. Menurut hasil pencarian, senam yoga dapat menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia. Disamping itu juga sangat penting diterapkan sebagai terapi non farmakologi bagi lansia yang memiliki riwayat kesehatan hipertensi. Diharapkan tenaga kesehatan dapat merekomendasikan hal ini sebagai terapi penurunan tekanan darah pada lansia.

Abstract

Background: The elderly are individuals who have entered the age of 60 years (Hurlock, 2004). One of the most common elderly problems that is more commonly found is depression. Currently increasing research and reviews support the efficiency of psychotherapy treatments for depression. Based on traditional interventions Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) therapy is recommended for geriatric depression. MBSR therapy focuses on is one type of mindfulness-based therapy that focuses on training awareness through meditation techniques. By practicing observing body sensations (body scan meditation), individuals can achieve a mindful condition in their daily lives, including when carrying out routine activities such as walking, eating, standing. MBSR aims to change individual relationships with stressful situations and thoughts. This is achieved by decreasing emotional reactions and increasing. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of MBSR therapy on the level of depression in the elderly. Methods: Literature searches conducted through Google Scholar and PubMed studies published in English, there were 778 articles obtained but only 5 journals met the search criteria.Results: The results of this review show that MBSR therapy has an influence to reduce the level of depression in the elderly and MBSR therapy has no side effects compared to pharmacological therapy.Conclusion: It is hoped that health workers can implement MBSR therapy to reduce the level of depression in the elderly

Abstract

Kecamatan batujajar merupakan salah satu kecamatan dengan jumlah kasus terkonfirmasi COVID-19 paling banyak di kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pelayanan kesehatan primer di Indonesia seperti Puskesmas, Poskesdes, dan Posyandu masih perlu untuk terus ditingkatkan. Permasalaan layanan di tingkat primer ini menjadi semakin memburuk dikarenakan wabah COVID-19, banyak puskesmas yang membatasi layanan dikarenakan kebijakan lockdown sehingga masyarakat yang mengalami masalah Kesehatan terdampak tidak bisa mencari pertolongan. Solusi yang berkaitan dengan pemanfaatan teknologi yaitu pelatihan tentang literasi digital untuk kader dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga, embinaan dan pendampingan dalam penggunaan IoT di posyandu dan posbindu melalui Mobile Apps akan dilakukan pendampingan dengan cara instalasi system IoT terintegrasi dengan sistem di puskesmas sehingga dapat dilakukan pemantauan dari jarak jauh melalui bantuan kader kesehatan. Metode pelaksaanaan yaitu penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pembinaan yang dilakukan melalui metode blended yaitu virtual dan tatap muka langsung. Selain itu juga dibentuknya Gerakan sehat bebas wabah penyakit Kecamatan Batujajar akan menjadi promotor untuk pencegahan dan penanngulangan wabah penyakit. Dibuatnya aplikasi posyandu dan posbindu online sehingga dapat meningaktkan pelayanan Kesehatan ditataran primer.Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku kader dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga terhadap pecegahan dan penanggulangan COVID-19. Pengingkatan level aktifitas masyarakat serta menurunkan angka kecemasan pada kader dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga terhadap wabah penyakit.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the practice of dengue prevention among school-aged children in IndonesiaMethodology: This study is quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach and conducted in May 2020. The total of 230 subjects school-aged children recruited in the study by using a convenience sampling. Data collection using the Self Efficacy Questionnaires (Practice For Dengue Fever) with Cronbach’s alpha > 70.Results: Most of the respondents cleaned the area around the house (92.2%), wear long sleeves and long pants to prevent mosquito bites (82.2%). A small percentage (31%) use mosquito nets while sleeping, put abates or chemicals to kill mosquitoes in water storage (32.4%), and spray dark places with insect vendors and half of them (59.4%). use mosquito nets while sleepingApplication: The need for support and assistance from healthcare professionals in primary school to practice dengue prevention.

Abstract

The coffee industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth, leading to an increasing demand for professional baristas with specific skills such as espresso extraction, latte art, and manual brewing techniques. However, available barista training programs are not yet fully integrated with the needs of the industry. This study aims to analyze integrated course management in enhancing the specific skills of professional baristas at two training institutions, namely LKP Sugeng Sejahtera (West Bandung Regency) and LKP Karya Duta (Bandung City). This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that both institutions implement training management based on G.R. Terry's theory, which includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. These are complemented by industry-adjusted curricula, involvement of business partners, and competency-based evaluations. The challenges encountered include limited facilities, gaps in instructor competencies, and the suboptimal sustainability of post-training programs. Solutions are pursued through strengthening industry partnerships, updating curricula, and continuous evaluation. It can be concluded that integrated course management plays a vital role in bridging skill gaps and enhancing barista professionalism, and it is relevant as a model for the development of other vocational training programs.

Abstract

Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) merupakan penentu utama kesehatan dan pertumbuhan optimal anak, khususnya pada usia sekolah dasar. Namun demikian, pengetahuan yang kurang memadai dan penerapan PHBS yang belum optimal masih sering ditemukan di banyak lingkungan sekolahProgram pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan praktis terkait PHBS pada anak sekolah dasar melalui intervensi pendidikan kesehatan interaktif berbasis sekolah. Program dilaksanakan pada Mei 2025 di SD Negeri Neglasari, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Sekitar 100 siswa kelas II dan IV berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini. Strategi edukasi meliputi ceramah interaktif, video edukasi animasi, permainan edukatif, serta praktik langsung seperti teknik cuci tangan enam langkah, pemilahan sampah, dan identifikasi makanan bergizi seimbang. Efektivitas program dievaluasi menggunakan metode observasi serta penilaian pra–pasca terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa. Intervensi menghasilkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan PHBS siswa, dari 40% sebelum program menjadi 85% setelah intervensi. Selain itu, 90% siswa mampu melakukan teknik cuci tangan enam langkah dengan benar, 80% menunjukkan praktik pemilahan sampah yang tepat, dan 88% memahami konsep gizi seimbang dengan baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan kesehatan interaktif berbasis praktik efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat pada anak sekolah dasar. Pendekatan ini direkomendasikan untuk implementasi lebih luas sebagai bagian dari program promosi kesehatan sekolah yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Background: Childhood 0-6 months is a crucial time period in human development. Data on developmental delays in West Java in 2024 show that around 30% of children in West Java experience developmental delays, with around 80% due to lack of stimulation. Stunting, which is a form of development delay, is also targeted to decrease significantly in West Java, from 21.7% to 14-15% in 2024. The relationship between mother and child is a context of maternal sensitivity. A sensitive mother will respond quickly and appropriately to the needs of the child, provide warm attention, and create a strong emotional bond between mother and child which is an important foundation for the child's future social and emotional development. Objective: to find out what factors can influence maternal sensitivity in babies aged 0-6 months. Method: this research uses quantitative research methods,With a total sample of 113 respondents, the sampling technique in this study used a non-probability sampling technique and the criteria for respondents were mothers who had babies aged 0-6 months using the NACTS (Nursing Child Assessment Teaching Scale) questionnaire. The CVI of maternal sensitivity scale ranged between 0.80 to 1.00. After reviewing the items (N = 36), the S-CVI was 0.87 for clarity and the S-CVI was 0.9 Results: The results show a p-value <0.05 for the variables number of children and family income. From this, it can be concluded that the factors that influence maternal sensitivity are these two variables. Conclusion: Of the several factors that influence maternal sensitivity, namely the number of children and family income are the most influential.

Abstract

Background: Hospitalization can be a distressing experience for children and frequently triggers anxiety, particularly among preschool-aged children who have limited cognitive and emotional coping abilities. Anxiety during hospitalization may disrupt the healing process, reduce cooperation with medical procedures, and potentially lead to long-term psychological trauma. Therefore, effective non-pharmacological interventions are essential to minimize anxiety in this age group. Animated educational videos have been proposed as a distraction-based intervention to help children cope with stressful hospital environments. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of animated educational videos in reducing anxiety levels among hospitalized preschool children. Methods: A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design was conducted involving 60 preschool children aged 3–6 years who had been hospitalized for more than two days. Participants were selected using convenience sampling. Children with mild anxiety whose parents provided informed consent were included, while those in critical condition or receiving intensive care were excluded. Anxiety levels were assessed using the Spence Children’s Anxiety Scale (SCAS). Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Mann–Whitney test. Results: The findings revealed a statistically significant reduction in anxiety levels among preschool children following exposure to animated educational videos (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Animated educational videos are effective in reducing anxiety among hospitalized preschool children and may be implemented as a simple, safe, and non-pharmacological intervention in pediatric nursing practice.

Especially in preschool children, this anxiety often occurs which can result in several undesirable things happening such as less than optimal healing process during hospitalization, and can even cause deep trauma for preschool children. Trauma from the pain that children have suffered makes children afraid to do it again, so nurses must be able to provide a technique to prevent this, for example, animated video distraction can be used as a medium to overcome this. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of animated videos in reducing the level of anxiety in preschool children during hospitalization. Method: This study was Quasy Experiment.
