Abstract

This research is based on the high risk of accidents faced by SMK students in the engineering and vocational fields, as well as the need to understand K3 principles before entering the world of work. This research aims to develop Android-based learning media to improve Vocational High School (SMK) students' understanding of occupational safety and health (OHS). This research is descriptive quantitative research using Research and Development (R&D) research design with the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.  The research subjects were 72 grade XI students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Tempel, selected based on their involvement in industrial work practices. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, with instruments in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, questionnaires, and test sheets. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially to assess the effectiveness of the media, with a t-test to determine the difference in students OHS understanding before and after using the media. The results showed that this Android-based media significantly improved students OHS understanding, indicated by an increase in the comprehension test score from 60% to 85%. As many as 92% of students felt that their understanding of OHS materials had improved, and 88% of students stated that this media was easy to use. The impact of this research contributes to improving the quality of vocational education, especially in preparing students for safety risks in the work environment, as well as improving students' digital literacy. The findings provide practical implications for the development of technology-based learning media relevant to industry needs and are expected to serve as a model for other educational institutions in improving students OHS understanding.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is an important aspect for creating a safe and healthy work environment. K3 is a competency that all prospective workers, especially vocational school graduates, must have. K3 learning tools are needed that play an important role in presenting industry-based knowledge, as well as emphasizing K3 practices in an interactive and interesting way in learning. This research aims to develop K3 learning teaching aids and test their effectiveness in improving student competence. This research is research and development (R&D) which adopts the Four-D development model consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The object of the research was carried out at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Sleman with the research subjects consisting of 34 students, 2 teachers and 2 industrial practitioners. Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests with research instruments in the form of interviews, questionnaires and practical performance tests. The development of industry-based K3 teaching aids was carried out well and effectively increased K3 competency during two trials. The achievement of K3 competency can be seen from the increase in the average score of the competency test in the limited trial stage with a score of 68 and the score in the expanded trial of 88.

Abstract

In recent years, graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMK) still dominate the unemployment rate in Indonesia. Unemployment which is the main problem can be overcome by increasing the work readiness of vocational students with support from industry. The aim of the research is to develop a work-ready-oriented work-based learning model (WBL-WoRe) that is feasible and effective to use to improve the work readiness of vocational students. This research design adopted the Richey and Klein research and development (R&D) design with the stages of model development, internal validation and external validation. The research subjects used were students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam concentration of automotive engineering expertise, totaling 137 students. The research object is the Ultratune, Astra Daihatsu Magelang and Toyota Nasmoco Magelang workshops. The technique of collecting work readiness data uses observation sheets of attitudes, knowledge and skills. Further analyzed by quantitative methods. This study shows that from the results of external validation (limited and expanded trials) the WBL-WoRe model is feasible and effective in increasing the work readiness of SMK students with a very good category. Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of gasket thickness on motorcycle engine performance, focusing on its role in maintaining pressure and temperature within the engine, which directly influences efficiency and power output. Employing a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews with mechanics, racers, and engine experts, the research explores the impact of gasket thickness on engine power, fuel efficiency, and durability under various conditions. Thematic analysis of the data reveals that thinner gaskets enhance power but compromise long-term durability, offering valuable insights for practitioners and manufacturers in optimizing gasket thickness for high-performance applications.

Abstract

The quick development of digital learning ecosystems after educational reform in the post-pandemic era requires an increase in intelligent monitoring systems that assess student engagement and predict academic performance. Traditional learning assessment techniques frequently have flaws when detecting early disengagement signals and initiating corrective actions for at-risk students. This research proposes an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Driven Learning Analytics method that aims to improve student engagement monitoring and academic performance prediction in digital learning environments. A fabricated LMS-based educational dataset was used, which includes behavior analysis, engagement factors, academic factors, interaction factors, and temporal learning behavior obtained from LMSs like Moodle, Google Classroom, and Canvas. Several machine learning models, including Random Forest, XGBoost, Support Vector Machine, Artificial Neural Network, and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), were tested. The results revealed that the LSTM model had the best performance with an accuracy rate of 95% and a ROC-AUC value of 0.98, highlighting the importance of temporal learning behavior in educational prediction systems. Some of the essential engagement factors found to be most effective were assignment submission, quiz score, inactivity period, session length, and login number. The findings make a theoretical contribution to Artificial Intelligence in Education and Learning Analytics by combining multidimensional engagement analysis, temporal behavior modeling, and explainable AI into a unified framework. In practice, the suggested framework can aid adaptive learning, early warning, individualized intervention, and evidence-based education decisions in intelligent digital learning ecosystems.

Abstract

The decline in discipline, honesty, and responsibility among elementary school students demonstrates the need for a more focused approach to character education. This study examines the practice of character education management as an effort to address students' moral problems through the POAC management function approach. The study was conducted using a qualitative method using a case study design at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in the Colombo Complex. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and document reviews, then analyzed interactively using triangulation to validate the data. The research findings indicate that character strengthening is implemented through planning based on students' moral needs, organizing the roles of all school members, implementing value inculcation in learning activities and school life, and ongoing supervision through monitoring and follow-up of student behavior. The implementation of these management functions creates a more systematic and sustainable character education pattern, thus contributing positively to reducing students' moral problems in elementary schools.

Abstract

The unemployed from vocational high schools (SMK) is still high. Several factors, including the low job readiness of vocational students and the small availability of jobs, cause the high unemployment rate for vocational schools. This study aims to develop a learning model of Integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL-T) and test the effectiveness of the PjBL-T model in preparing vocational students' job readiness. The design of this study adopted the Richey and Klein model stages. This research was carried out in three stages: model development, internal validation, and external validation. This study used research subjects consisting of 10 vocational teachers, ten industrial practitioners, and 54 Automotive Engineering SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Tempel students. The research objects used were SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Tempel, Jogjakarta Automotive Center (OJC) Auto Service, Barokah Auto Service, Astra Daihatsu Armada, and Gadjah Mada Auto Service. The data collection techniques used were focus group discussions (FGD), questionnaires, and practice assessment sheets. Data were analyzed descriptively. The PjBL-T model is feasible and can be applied according to the learning objectives. The effectiveness of increasing student work readiness tested limited and expanded and improved very well with a score of 3.27.
