Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Physical Education (PE) learning in instilling and familiarizing positive character values in elementary school children. Character education is becoming increasingly important in the challenging era of globalization, where the flow of foreign cultures and the influence of social media can hinder the development of children's character. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 students, 5 parents of students, 2 teachers, and 1 principal at Elementary School Angkasa I Lanud Sutan Syahrir Padang. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that PE activities are an effective medium in instilling character values such as discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. Teachers act as role models in teaching these values, while parental support strengthens character habits outside of school. Although effective, there are several challenges in its implementation, such as time constraints and lack of training for teachers. This study conveys that PE has great potential to contribute to the formation of a young generation that is not only physically healthy but also strong in character.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, reliable and effective physical education learning assessment instrument for use in physical education learning. This instrument is designed to measure various aspects such as cognitive, apactive and psychomotor of students comprehensively. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D), which involves 3 experts, consisting of physical education experts, measurement test experts and language experts, for the field trial group involving 20 small groups and 30 large groups, after the data is obtained and analyzed using statistical analysis with the SPSS application with the r correlation method. The results of the study showed that the resulting instrument had a "very good" level of validity and reliability. Physical education teachers assessed that the instrument created helped in conducting objective assessments. But it still requires further development such as combining with digital technology to make assessment data more efficient and accurate.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of training motivation in improving the under-the-ring shooting ability of adolescent basketball players. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design, involving 15 players aged between 15 to 18 years. Data were collected using a training motivation test with a Likert scale instrument, and the under-the-ring shooting skills were assessed to obtain data on shooting ability. The results of the study indicate that motivation has an influence on under-the-ring shooting, as seen in the significant relationship (0.009 < 0.05), meaning there is a positive correlation between training motivation and under-the-ring shooting ability with a moderate correlation. Therefore, it can be concluded that high training motivation leads to improved shooting performance. To enhance motivation, various forms of support, such as social support and personal achievement, should be provided, as they can contribute positively to players' on-court performance. Future research may consider additional variables such as technique, sports psychology, environmental conditions, and varied training facilities to gain a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a tool for measuring catching-throwing skills using modern, effective, and efficient sensor technology. This tool is designed to increase accuracy in measuring catch-throwing skills. This type of research uses (R&D). This research involved three experts in their field: an electrical expert, an evaluation and measurement expert, and a physicist. A total of 30 participants participated in testing in a small group of 12 people and a large group of 18 people with an age range of 15-20 years. Testing is carried out with questionnaires and direct tests. The statistical analysis used is r-correlation with the help of the SPSS application. The test results show a high alpha coefficient, confirming that this tool is consistent and reliable in collecting data. Three experts carried out practicality testing: Electrical Experts, Evaluation and Measurement Experts, and Physicists. The results show that this tool is efficient, with practicality levels of 98%, 92%, and 89%, respectively. In addition, an excellent level of effectiveness is demonstrated by expert assessment results, which reach 99%, 89%, and 85%. With this tool, researchers and teachers can evaluate object control skills more efficiently and accurately and assist in collecting more comprehensive data. Overall, this tool for measuring throwing and catching skills provides significant innovation and is expected to support research and education in measuring and developing children's motor skills.
