Abstract

This research is entitled The Effect of Doses of Chicken Manure and Rabbit Urine Liquid Organic Fertiliser on the Growth and Yield of Cowpea Plants (Vigna unguiculata L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of chicken manure and rabbit urine liquid organic fertiliser on the growth and yield of cowpea plants. This research was conducted in Tambakwetan Rt 03 Rw 07, Tambakmerang, Girimarto, Wonogiri, Central Java. This research design used a 2-factorial randomised complete blok design (RAKL). The first factor of chicken manure dose (A) consisted of 3 levels A0 (0 tonnes/ha), A1 (20 tonnes/ha), A2 (40 tonnes/ha). The second factor of rabbit urine POC (K) consisted of 3 levels K0 (0 ml/ha), K1 (40 ml/ha), K2 (80 ml/ha). The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, wet stover weight, dry stover weight, number of pods, pod weight, wet seed weight, dry seed weight. The results of the study are the Dosage Treatment of Chicken Manure gives results that are not significantly different from all observation parameters. The treatment of Rabbit Urine POC gives results that are not significantly different from all observation parameters. The combination of treatments between chicken manure doses and rabbit urine POC gave significantly different results on the observation parameter of plant height A0K0 (104.83 cm). But not significantly different from the parameters of the number of leaves, the weight of wet stalks, the weight of dry stalks, the number of pods, pod weight, wet seed weight, seed weight. Abstract

Rice is a major food commodity in Indonesia and plays an important role in people's daily lives. The increase in rice prices can have a complex impact on farmers' incomes. Although it sounds like a profitable thing, the increase in rice prices can also mean higher production costs for farmers, such as more expensive fertilizer and seed prices. In addition to having an impact on farmers' income, the increase in rice prices can also affect the economic welfare of farmers. The economic welfare of farmers is not only related to the income earned but also to the farmer's expenses in each harvest period. The study aims to determine the impact of the increase in rice prices on the income and welfare of rice farmers in Klaten. Data collection was carried out using the interview method with rice farmers in the Sri Makmur Dk. Tempel Farmer Group, Jogosetran Village, Kali Kotes, Klaten. Data analysis was conducted by analyzing costs, revenues, income, and welfare analysis by comparing income and expenditure of farmer households. The results indicate that although farmers' income has increased, their welfare has not improved significantly due to rising production and household costs. This study emphasizes the importance of policies that not only regulate commodity prices but also improve production cost efficiency to enhance farmers' welfare.

Abstract

One of the important problems in soybean production is the weed growth. This study was conducted to observe the growth of weeds in the growth of soybean plants that are given compost. Anjasmoro soybean varieties were planted in Surakarta, on April 14, 2020. There are four types of treatment, namely given compost fertilizer made from tobacco leaves, soursop leaves, a mixture of tobacco leaves and soursop, and without fertilizer. Weeds were allowed to grow together with soybeans in 15 polybags, per treatment. Observation and identification of weeds were carried out twice, 4 weeks after planting and at harvest time. The results found 9 kinds of weeds consisting of 5 species of Monocots and 4 types of Dicotiles. The total wet weight of weeds was every treatment: 1,539 grams, while the wet weight of the soybean crop at harvest was 858.4 grams. Wet weed weight in the control treatment was 284,8 grams. The wet weight of weeds in soybean plants was the largest mixture fertilizer treatment that is 514,8 grams. The number of pods ranges from 17 to 26. The sum of seeds per soybean plant in giving mixed compost is at most 98 grains. Mixed fertilizer treatment can increase the yield of Anjasmoro soybean, although weed growth up.

Abstract

Rice farming is the dominant farming business in Java, one of which is Central Java. Rice is still the primadonna commodity because the staple food of most Indonesian people is rice. Currently, there is starting to be a shift from previously conventional farming techniques to organic farming to maintain soil fertility and environmental safety. This research aims to analyze the income and feasibility of organic rice farming and conventional rice farming in Mojogedang District, Karanganyar Regency and was carried out in June-August 2023. This research was carried out using a quantitative approach and descriptive analysis. The research location was determined purposively in the Tani Mulyo 1 Group, Mojogedang District, Karanganyar Regency, involving 25 organic rice farmers and 25 conventional rice farmers. This research uses cost, revenue, income analysis, and also feasibility analysis using the R/C ratio and Break Event Point (BEP). The results of the analysis show that the total cost of organic rice farming is IDR. 9,960,600,- and costs for conventional rice farming are IDR. 10,117,375,-. Average revenue from organic farming is Rp. 47,094,000,- and the average revenue from conventional rice farming is Rp. 40,414,400. Based on these results, the difference between revenues and costs is known so that the income obtained in organic rice farming is Rp. 37,133,400,- and conventional rice farming income is Rp. 30,297,025,-. The R/C ratio value for organic rice farming is 4.73 and for conventional rice farming is 3.99. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that organic rice farming and conventional rice farming are both feasible to run, but organic rice farming will provide a higher level of profit.

Abstract

Production risk management is important for production optimization. The objectives of this study are to 1) Examine the factors that affect the production of salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency 2) analyse the magnitude of the production risk and what are the factors that influence the production risk of salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency, and 3) develop appropriate risk management to be applied in salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency. The respondents of this study were 30 salak pondoh farmers in Bangunkerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency. Interviews with respondents were carried out in October 2021. This study were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model, while the risk level was analyzed using the coefficient of variation method. The results showed that the variables of organic fertilizer, number of workers, farming experience, plant age, and number of clumps significantly affected production. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi dosis pupuk guano fosfat dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang hijau (Vigna radiata L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Januari hingga Mei 2025 di Kebun Benih Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura Tohudan, Karanganyar, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) dengan dua faktor perlakuan, yaitu pupuk guano fosfat (0, 24, 48, dan 72 g/tan) dan pupuk NPK 16-16-16 (0, 3, 4,2, dan 5,4 g/tan), yang dikombinasikan menjadi 16 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat brangkasan basah dan kering, muncul bunga, jumlah bunga dan polong, panjang polong, berat biji kering, dan berat 100 biji kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk guano fosfat dan pupuk NPK masing-masing berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, berat brangkasan basah, berat brangkasan kering, muncul bunga, jumlah bunga, jumlah polong, panjang polong, berat biji kering, dan berat 100 biji kering. Interaksi signifikan antara kedua jenis pupuk terjadi pada tinggi tanaman, berat brangkasan basah, jumlah polong, dan berat 100 biji kering. Kombinasi pupuk organik dan anorganik memberikan pengaruh sinergis terhadap ketersediaan unsur hara, sehingga mendukung pertumbuhan vegetatif dan generatif tanaman kacang hijau. Dengan demikian, penggunaan kombinasi pupuk guano fosfat dan NPK 16-16-16 dapat menjadi strategi pemupukan yang efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang hijau secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of goat manure and NPK Phonska fertilizer on the growth and yield of black potato (Plectranthus rotundifolius). Black potato has potential as an alternative food source, but its productivity remains low due to limited cultivation information and the intensive use of chemical fertilizers. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors in a 4 × 4 factorial scheme: goat manure (0, 10, 15, and 20 tons/ha) and NPK Phonska (0, 400, 600, and 800 kg/ha), resulting in 16 treatment combinations with three replications (48 experimental plants). Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed a significant interaction between goat manure and NPK Phonska on tuber diameter, with the best result obtained from 15 tons/ha of goat manure combined with 600 kg/ha of NPK Phonska, producing a tuber diameter of 51.07 mm, significantly higher than the control. Goat manure at 20 tons/ha increased leaf number, flower number, tuber number, tuber length, and tuber weight, while 15 tons/ha was more optimal for tuber diameter and weight. NPK Phonska at 800 kg/ha enhanced plant height, leaf number, and flower number, whereas 600 kg/ha improved tuber diameter and length. This result confirms that the combination of goat manure and NPK Phonska can optimize the growth and yield of black potato. Keywords: Black Potato; Goat Manure; NPK Phonska.

Abstract

Masyarakat perkotaan di Gulon RT 01/RW 19, Kelurahan Jebres, Kota Surakarta, menghadapi keterbatasan lahan pekarangan serta rendahnya pemanfaatan ruang rumah tangga untuk mendukung kemandirian pangan dan estetika lingkungan. Kondisi ini mendorong perlunya solusi alternatif yang sesuai dengan karakter wilayah perkotaan. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan warga dalam menerapkan urban farming tanaman buah dan tanaman hias sebagai upaya swa sembada rumah tangga. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan praktik penanaman, serta pendampingan berbasis partisipasi masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya perubahan positif berupa meningkatnya partisipasi warga dalam pemanfaatan pekarangan, dengan 17 rumah tangga peserta mulai menanam tanaman buah dan tanaman hias secara mandiri. Selain itu, terbentuk kebiasaan baru dalam bercocok tanam yang mendukung ketahanan pangan dan kualitas lingkungan rumah. Kegiatan ini dinilai efektif dan relevan dengan kondisi masyarakat perkotaan serta berpotensi untuk direplikasi di wilayah lain dengan karakteristik serupa

Abstract

Waste is a complex societal problem. The current waste management paradigm has resulted in piles of waste in various areas and poses a threat of fire and health problems for the community. Existing waste management must be carried out wisely, including separating organic and inorganic waste and utilizing organic waste that can be converted into eco-enzymes. The purpose of this community service activity is to help the community manage organic waste at home so as not to add to the environmental waste pile. Community Service Activities were carried out at the PKK of Suruh Pabrik Village, RT/RW 03/02, Jatisobo, Polokarto, Sukoharjo, starting from May-August 2025, with 30 participants. The community service activities consisted of providing training to PKK women in Suruh Pabrik Village. The community service activities carried out by the target community have optimized the use of organic waste at home for processing into eco-enzymes, the results of which are used for floor cleaners and as organic liquid fertilizers for plants in the yard. The success rate of this community service activity reached 66.67%.
