Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) is an initiative where students contribute to society by applying technological and scienti?c knowledge through cross- sectoral and comprehensive approaches. In 2024, one  of the KKN-T programs from  Pohuwato University was conducted in Siduan Village, Paguat District, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo. Siduan Village consists of three neighborhoods: Lembetue, Central, and Oyiledaa. Surveys and direct observations revealed the absence of road boundary signs between neighborhoods, which  are essential for identifying territorial boundaries and providing navigation information for residents and visitors. To address this, the KKN-T team, comprising 16 members, implemented a program to design and install neighborhood boundary street name signs in Siduan Village. This initiative aimed to improve the community's awareness of neighborhood boundaries and serve as a practical guide for navigation. The program was successfully executed on time, with strong support from  the local community and village o?cials. This project is expected to deliver  long-term bene?ts in enhancing neighborhood identity and navigation in Siduan Village.ABSTRAKKuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) merupakan program pengabdian mahasiswa kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan memberikan pengalaman penerapan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi secara lintas sektoral dan komprehensif. Pada tahun 2024, salah satu lokasi pelaksanaan KKN-T Universitas Pohuwato adalah di Kelurahan Siduan, Kecamatan Paguat, Kabupaten Pohuwato, Provinsi Gorontalo, yang mencakup tiga lingkungan: Lembetue, Sentral, dan Oyiledaa. (1) Berdasarkan hasil survei dan observasi, ditemukan bahwa Kelurahan Siduan belum memiliki plang nama pembatas jalan antar lingkungan, yang penting sebagai penanda wilayah dan identitas lokasi. Sebagai solusi, (2) Tim KKN-T Universitas Pohuwato yang beranggotakan 16 mahasiswa melaksanakan program pembuatan plang nama pembatas jalan antar lingkungan. (3) Program ini bertujuan memudahkan masyarakat mengenali batas wilayah serta berfungsi sebagai penunjuk jalan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan berjalan lancar, tepat waktu, dan sesuai sasaran, dengan dukungan tinggi dari masyarakat dan aparatur Kelurahan Siduan. (4)  Program ini diharapkan memberikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi identitas dan kemudahan navigasi di wilayah tersebut.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the damage or leakage of the concrete roof structure in the Pohuwato Regency DPRD Building based on the priority scale and investigation method. The location of the Pohuwato Regency People's Representative Council located in the Marisa Office Plan Block, Marisa District, Pohuwato Regency was used as the object of study in this study. This research survey was conducted in June. Several methods used were interviews with the DPRD Building Head Manager and interviews with the Head of the PU Service. This research was conducted in the Pohuwato Regency DPRD Building, with an emphasis on the concrete roof roof structure. The building is intended as one of the legislative institutions within the Pohuwato Regency Government. Based on the results and analysis, it can be concluded that the level of damage based on the weighting of the concrete roof roof of the Pohuwato Regency DPRD Building is 83%. This conclusion is based on the results of the analysis carried out by the author using the SAW method and the weighting parameters of the results, which indicate that the data can be used as a reference in analyzing or repairing the concrete roof roof of the Building.

Abstract

The development of environmentally friendly concrete materials is a response to the construction industry’s growing demand for sustainability and reduced environmental impact. Pohuwato Regency holds significant potential for coconut fiber (coco-fiber) waste utilization, with coconut production reaching 21,572 tons in 2023. This study aims to analyze the effect of a 10% addition of coco-fiber on the compressive strength and weight efficiency of normal concrete. The research was conducted through an experimental approach at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Pohuwato University, using 20 concrete samples divided into two groups: standard concrete (SNI) and concrete mixed with 10% coco-fiber. Compressive strength tests were carried out on days 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 of the curing period. The results showed that the 10% coco-fiber concrete reached an average compressive strength of 18.572 MPa on day 28, only 6.3% lower than standard concrete at 19.828 MPa. Additionally, the coco-fiber concrete exhibited a 10.7% reduction in weight, making it a viable alternative for lightweight construction applications. These findings are validated by previous studies indicating that coconut fiber enhances concrete ductility and supports the development of sustainable construction materials. Therefore, coco-fiber shows promising potential as an eco-friendly concrete additive, particularly for lightweight structural components.Pengembangan material beton yang ramah lingkungan merupakan respon terhadap kebutuhan industri konstruksi yang berkelanjutan dan minim dampak lingkungan. Kabupaten Pohuwato memiliki potensi besar dalam hal limbah serabut kelapa (coco-fiber), dengan produksi kelapa mencapai 21.572 ton pada tahun 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penambahan 10% serabut kelapa terhadap mutu kuat tekan beton normal serta efisiensi beratnya. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental di Laboratorium Teknik Sipil Universitas Pohuwato, dengan menggunakan 20 sampel uji yang dibagi dalam dua kelompok: beton normal (SNI) dan beton campuran 10% coco-fiber. Pengujian dilakukan pada masa curing 3, 7, 14, 21, dan 28 hari. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa beton dengan penambahan 10% coco-fiber memiliki kuat tekan rata-rata sebesar 18,572 MPa pada hari ke-28, hanya berbeda 6,3% dari beton normal sebesar 19,828 MPa. Beton campuran coco-fiber juga menunjukkan pengurangan berat sebesar 10,7%, menjadikannya alternatif material konstruksi yang lebih ringan. Temuan ini divalidasi oleh berbagai penelitian terdahulu yang menunjukkan bahwa serabut kelapa dapat meningkatkan daktilitas beton serta berkontribusi terhadap keberlanjutan material bangunan. Dengan demikian, coco-fiber memiliki potensi sebagai bahan tambah beton ramah lingkungan untuk aplikasi struktur ringan.

Abstract

Waste is the residue of human activities, which can be in solid, liquid, or gaseous form. Waste problems are still common in various areas, including Karangetang Village, which boasts a beautiful environment but still finds scattered waste. This condition can degrade environmental quality and impact community health and comfort. This community service activity aims to provide a suitable and environmentally friendly waste incinerator to prevent waste from polluting the surrounding environment. The activity was carried out in February 2024, involving students and the local community. Implementation was carried out through the stages of observation, planning, construction of the incineration facility, and socialization of the facility's use to residents. The results of the activity showed an increase in public awareness of environmental cleanliness and a more orderly use of waste management facilities. Through this activity, it is hoped that Karangetang Village can maintain environmental cleanliness sustainably and foster public awareness of responsible waste management.ABSTRAKSampah merupakan sisa hasil aktivitas manusia yang dapat berbentuk padat, cair, maupun gas. Permasalahan sampah masih sering dijumpai di berbagai daerah, termasuk di Desa Karangetang yang memiliki lingkungan asri namun masih ditemukan sampah yang berserakan. Kondisi ini dapat menurunkan kualitas lingkungan dan berdampak pada kesehatan serta kenyamanan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan tempat pembakaran sampah yang layak dan ramah lingkungan agar limbah hasil pembakaran tidak mencemari lingkungan sekitar. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2024 dengan melibatkan mahasiswa dan masyarakat setempat. Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui tahapan observasi dimana diikuti oleh 11 Mahasiswa KKLP, 15 Warga desa Bumbulan dan 3 orang aparat desa. Dalam pembangunan fasilitas pembakaran, serta sosialisasi pemanfaatan sarana tersebut kepada warga desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kebersihan lingkungan dan penggunaan fasilitas pengelolaan sampah secara lebih tertib. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan Desa Karangetang dapat menjaga kebersihan lingkungan secara berkelanjutan serta menumbuhkan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah yang bertanggung jawab. Indikator keberhasilan kegiatan ini dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya perilaku masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan, seperti kebiasaan membuang sampah pada tempatnya dan memanfaatkan fasilitas pengelolaan sampah secara tertib. Selain itu, berkurangnya titik-titik sampah liar, meningkatnya partisipasi warga dalam kegiatan kebersihan, serta bertambahnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah yang bertanggung jawab juga menjadi tanda bahwa kesadaran lingkungan mulai tumbuh dan program berjalan efektif.
