Abstract

Abstract The translation of the Koran by orientalists often gets a negative response. However, Arberry's translation of the Koran as part of the orientalists countered the corrupted image through his work. This acceptance of his work wants the author to express through Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis approach which focuses on text, social cognition and social context. The results of this study indicate that Arberry sees the Qur'an as a supernatural work that must be interpreted in an original way. In social cognition, Arberry was also influenced by the great concept of Reynold Alleyne Nicholson for his anxiety about the translation of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, in the social context, Arberry's life journey began with his desire to translate the Qur'an objectively.

Abstract

Salah satu mufassir lokal yakni Teuku Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqiey dikenal dengan corak fikihnya. Hal ini menunjukkan ketegasan Hasbi dalam memutuskan hukum pada tema pembahasan ayat yang dibahas. Kendati demikian, karakteristik kenusantaraanya menjadi indikator untuk melenturnya hukum yang ada, sebab menyesuaikan pada kondisi dan situasi masyarakatnya. Oleh karena itu, menarik untuk kembali digali dengan tema sosial yang diambil penulis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan model penafsiran tematik yang secara keseluruhan akan menganalisa ayat-ayat bertemakan musyawarah (QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 233, QS. Ali Imran [3]: 159, QS. Asy-Syura [42]: 38). Penelitian ini menghasilkan bahwa (1) titik tumpu dalam musyawarah bukanlah mengenai hasil akhir melainkan proses saat hal itu terjadi; (2) peleburan sikap dan ego merupakan tujuan yang lebih penting dari hasil yang di hasilkan dalam musyawarah; (3) pemikiran Hasbi dalam musyawarah cenderung diwarnai oleh kondisi dan situasi masyarakat Indonesia.

Abstract

There are differences in the translation of Surah al-Mu'awwidzat between the translations of the Ministry of Religion Team and Muhammad Talib. The reason is that the difference occurs because of the use of different touchable methods between the two. This is important considering that the Indonesian translation of the Quran is the main reference for the general public in understanding the content of the Quran, especially Surah al-Mu'awwidzat is a letter that is widely known, memorized and studied by various groups of people in Indonesia. This research focuses on library research with a descriptive-comparative method, namely explaining the translation of Muhammad Talib and the Ministry of Religion Team in Surah al-Mu'awwidzat. Then compare the interpretations of the two by revealing the similarities, differences and the writer's criticism. The results of this study indicate (1) translation similarities have occurred between the two in QS al-Ikhlas: 1, 3 and 4, QS al-Falaq: 1 and 5 and QS. an-Nisa: 5-6; (2) the difference between the two occurs in QS al-Ikhlas in the word al-shamad, the Ministry of Religion Team translates asking for everything, while M. Talib translates Guarantee all the needs of His creatures, QS. al-Falaq in syarr, the Ministry of Religion Team translates crime while M. Talib translates bad nature and al-naffasat, the Ministry of Religion Team translates women who are sorcerers while M. Talib translates magicians. And QS an-Nisa in the word al-nisa, the Ministry of Religion Team translates humans, while M. Talib translates humans and jin; (3) M. Talib found narrow meanings and inconsistencies in translating, while the Ministry of Religion's translation team tended to be more broad and contextual in translating each vocabulary.

Abstract

This study re-examines Ahmad Hassan’s Tafsir al-Furqan in order to address the recurrent accusations of intolerance leveled against its author. Employing a qualitative design and content-analysis techniques, all verses concerning Muslim–non-Muslim relations in the 1988 edition are isolated as units of analysis and coded according to thematic categories (freedom of belief, autonomy of worship, dialogical ethics) and linguistic features (negation patterns, parenthetical insertions, lexical restrictions). The findings reveal a close dialectic between Hassan’s puritan ideology and his adherence to Qurʾānic linguistic discipline. The three pillars of tolerance—freedom of worship, prohibition of coercing faith, and prohibition of insulting other religious symbols—emerge as direct implications of the Qurʾānic wording, whereas the terms kufr and ṭāghūt are deliberately narrowed to underscore the superiority of Islamic law. Through this model of “conditional tolerance,” Hassan affirms the existential rights of non-Muslims without relativizing Islam’s truth claims. The study thus revises the prevailing “anti-plural puritan” stereotype in the literature and offers a new analytical framework for Indonesian tafsir studies that integrates ideology, language, and social context.

Abstract

The ritual of reading the verses of the Qur'an in a tradition in society is an interesting phenomenon to study. The reason is that in the study of the Living Qur'an, the Qur'an as the main source of teachings is not only understood as hermeneutical. This research focuses on the functional reception of the Dusun Tundan community towards the ritual of reading certain verses of the Qur'an in the Nyadran Tradition. The type of research is qualitative-descriptive, namely research that aims to understand what phenomena are experienced by research subjects. In this case, the author uses functional reception theory to understand the various reactions and responses of the community to the ritual. The results of the study indicate that there is a functional reception in the ritual of reading certain verses of the Qur'an which is described as follows; First, the reading of the verses is intended to calm the soul and forgive all its sins. Second, pragmatically, reading verses for participants is considered good, correct, and useful because it makes people's hearts calm and can feel the presence of spirits. Third, reading the verses awakens a person to respect and appreciate other people, especially parents who are still alive. Fourth, the sowing of flowers in another ritual The Nyadran tradition is analogous to the planting of two wet date palms by the Prophet Muhammad as a symbol of the forgiveness of the soul. Practically, the Nyadran Tradition is also a place to build social interaction.Keywords :

Abstract

Hubungan antar keluarga hendaknya ditunjukkan dengan saling menyayangi dan merangkul karena di dalamnya terdapat ikatan darah. Meski demikian, fenomena yang terjadi saat ini justru menunjukkan hal sebaliknya dengan banyaknya kasus pembunuhan atau tindak pidana yang dilakukan oleh sesama keluarga. Kejadian ini kembali mengingatkan kita pada dalil Al-Qur'an Q.S. Yusuf  [12]: 9-14 yang menceritakan proses pembunuhan berencana terhadap saudaranya sendiri. Penelitian inipun berbeda dengan penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya yang cenderung menggunakan sudut pandang komentator dalam analisisnya, sedangkan pada artikel ini penulis menggunakan semiotika strukturalisme Ferdinand de Saussure agar ditemukan makna yang lebih luas. Pada tahap ini penulis melihat bagaimana hubungan tanda-tanda yang terdapat dalam ayat-ayat tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa cara membunuh seseorang tidak hanya dengan merenggut nyawanya saja, namun bisa juga dengan melumpuhkan mentalnya atau menyesatkan orang yang dituju hingga terjerumus ke dalam kesalahan (melakukan pelanggaran), keluarga yang seharusnya menjadi sosok pelindung. sedangkan mengingatkan kebaikan bisa berubah menjadi serigala yaitu seseorang yang menusuk atau membunuh dengan keji.

Abstract

 Pandemi Coronavirus Disease atau dikenal Covid-19 telah berhasil mengubah lini kehidupan bermasyarakat. Kehidupan yang biasanya interaksi masyarakat dilakukan dengan mudahnya, berubah dengan adanya transformasi perilaku menuju digitalisasi. Dunia digital berimbas pada munculnya istilah influencer yang memiliki tiga peran penting yakni to inform, to persuade, dan to entertaiment. Influencer tidak hanya memiliki peran biasa dalam dunia digital, otoritas yang dimiliki influencer dipraktekan juga pada kalangan anak (kid). Praktek kid influencer kerap kali menjadi sumber rezeki dan memunculkan pada praktek ekspolitasi anak. kajian ini menggunakan library research  dengan menggunakan Tafsir Maqashidi guna mereinterpretasi QS. Al-Furqon [25]:74 mencari maqasid dan ide moral yang terkandung di dalamnya. Kajian ini menghasilkan bahwa QS. Al-Furqon [25]:74 bukan hanya sebagai cita-cita kosong belaka dan hampa namun perlu dipraktekan dengan berbagai peran dari orang tua terhadap sang buah hati dan ayat ini mengandung unsur maqasid mengarah pada hifs nafs.
