Abstract

Abstract The translation of the Koran by orientalists often gets a negative response. However, Arberry's translation of the Koran as part of the orientalists countered the corrupted image through his work. This acceptance of his work wants the author to express through Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis approach which focuses on text, social cognition and social context. The results of this study indicate that Arberry sees the Qur'an as a supernatural work that must be interpreted in an original way. In social cognition, Arberry was also influenced by the great concept of Reynold Alleyne Nicholson for his anxiety about the translation of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, in the social context, Arberry's life journey began with his desire to translate the Qur'an objectively.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Thomas Kuhn's paradigm of the scientific revolution in presenting the discourse of re-syarah hadith which has been less objective in addressing the social problems of the people. The description of Kuhn's framework of thought on the revitalization of the hadith scribe is quite extensive, including the stages in providing an overview to give birth to a breakthrough in the science of hadith from the time of the companions to the rapid development of hadith in the 2nd to 3rd centuries. By starting from the questions, first, what is the framework of Thomas Kuhn's scientific revolution, second, what are the basic assumptions of the need for rewriting hadith in the current era, third, how is the application of Thomas Kuhn's scientific revolution paradigm in the discourse of rewriting hadith. The type of research used in this analysis is idea analysis with a library research approach. Typically, this research centers on two data models, namely primary data and secondary data. By applying the study of the interpretation of thought, this article can show that Thomas Kuhn's scientific revolution paradigm is a good reference in discussing the re-syarah of hadith in the present era, in addition to the discourses of re-writing hadith, this is the basis in showing that Islam through the Prophet's hadith has strong integrity to discuss the issue of contextual re-writing of hadith, because in its history Islam is full of knowledge, not only in terms of religion but also in terms of social life.[Artikel ini berbicara penggunaan paradigma revolusi ilmiah Thomas Kuhn dalam menyuguhkan wacana re-syarah ­hadis yang saat ini kegunaannya mulai tidak begitu objektif untuk menjawab persoalan sosial umat. Penggambaran kerangka berpikir Kuhn mengenai revitalisasi syarah hadis cukup ekstensif, termasuk tahapan-tahapannya dalam memberikan gambaran untuk melahirkan dobrakan baru terhadap science hadis dari mulai masa sahabat sampai perkembangan hadis yang pesat di abad-2 sampai 3 H. Dengan beranjak dari persoalan, pertama, bagaimana kerangka pemikiran Thomas Kuhn terhadap revolusi ilmiah, kedua, apa asumsi dasar perlunya re-syarah hadis pada era saat ini, ketiga, bagaimana pengaplikasian paradigma revolusi ilmiah Thomas Kuhn dalam wacana re-syarah hadis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam analisis ini merupakan analisis gagasan dengan pendekatan kepustakaan (library research). Secara distingtif, penelitian ini berpusat pada dua model data yakni data primer dan data sekunder. Dengan menerapkan kajian interpretasi pemikiran, artikel ini mampu menunjukkan bahwa paradigma revolusi ilmiah Thomas Kuhn merupakan acuan yang besar dalam mendiskusikan re-syarah hadis di era saat ini, di samping itu memang terdapat wacana-wacana penggagasan ulang terhadap syarah hadis, ini menjadi landasan dalam menunjukkan bahwa agama Islam melalui hadis Nabi mempunyai integritas yang kuat untuk berdiskusi persoalan perombakan syarah hadis kontesktual karena dalam historinya Islam penuh dengan ilmu pengetahuan, tidak hanya dari kacamata keagamaan, namun juga dari bagian sosial kehidupan.]

Abstract

This article outlines an epistemological formulation of Islamic scholarship from a Muslim historian, literati, sociologist, and scholar named Kuntowijoyo. Islam seems incapable of matching science. This is coupled with subjective ideologies still raised by Islamic figures or organizations. Kunto provides a paradigm to explain the phenomena that occur (factually) and achieve the transformative ideals of Islam. This research is library research (literature review) with data collection using documentation. Metode descriptive-analytical analysis that outlines the basic meaning of Islamic science and ilmu social profetik then sees its implications for the caliphate of Islamic thought. The result of this article is that the Islamic Science thrown by Kuntowijoyo seeks that Islam is not seen as ideological because it will cause subjectivity among its adherents. Islam is formed in scientific theory that all human beings, especially Muslims, can recognize. This problem departs from Kunto's anxiety about the phenomenon of Indonesian society upholding myths and ideologies but forgetting the awareness of science. The implications for Islamic thought must be an effort to formulate Islam systematically in the form of science.

Abstract

AbstractThis study focuses on the story of Yajuj and Majuj in Al-Azhar's Tafsir which was studied in depth using Julia Kristeva's theory of semanalysis and intertextuality. The purpose of this study is to find a relationship between Tafsir Al-Azhar Buya Hamka and Tafsir Fi Zilalil Qur'an Sayyid Qutb. The method used is descriptive qualitative. This research is included in the category of heirloom studies (library research), which collects data through books, articles, and writings related to research. The results showed that the Al-Azhar interpretation had a transposition of the text's relationship with the Tafsir Fi Zilalil Qur'an which was included in the modification, existence, and parallel categoriesAbstrakPenelitian ini berfokus pada kisah Yajuj Majuj dalam Tafsir Al-Azhar yang dikaji secara mendalam dengan menggunakan teori semanalisis dan intertekstualitas Julia Kristeva. Penelitian ini masuk dalam kategori kajian pusaka (library research) yang mana pengumpulan data melalui buku-buku, artikel, tulisan yang terkait dengan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tafsir Al-Azhar memiliki transposisi hubungan teks dengan Tafsir Fi Dzilali Al-Qur’anyang masuk dalam kategori modifikasi, eksistensi, dan parallel.

Abstract

AbstractThe Book of At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi by H. Oemar Bakry is a pedagogical book of interpretation at a leading Islamic boarding school, Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (and its branches). This book was taught at the very beginning of the founding of the Kulliyatul Muallimin Al-Islamiyah Gontor, Ponorogo. With the experience of KH. Imam Zarkasyi (one of Gontor's Trimurti caregivers) during his stay in Padang Thawalib during the colonial era, then sent him to meet H. Oemar Bakry to make them both Sahib al-Hamim (best friends). His closeness as a friend then had implications for the birth of At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi which was taught for years in the Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). Furthermore, this research is a qualitative type using library research and studies (formal objects) which are used as the epistemological analysis of Abdul Mustaqim's interpretation. The results of this study indicate that the source of the book At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi is dominated by the Tafsir Al-Manar by Abduh and Rasyid Ridho which is considered the driving force for the modernization of the Islamic world. While the method used is ijmali with the al-Adab al-Ijtima'i pattern on the one hand and the other hand the At-Tarbawi pattern. Finally, the validity of H. Oemar Bakri's interpretation can be seen based on coherence theory and pragmatic theory.Keywords : At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi, epistemology of interpretation, H. Oemar Bakry. AbstractKitab At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi karya H. Oemar Bakry merupakan kitab pedagogis tafsir di pesantren terkemuka yakni Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (beserta cabangnya). Kitab ini diajarkan persis awal berdirinya Kulliyatul Muallimin Al-Islamiyah Gontor, Ponorogo. Dengan bermodalkan pengalamannya KH. Imam Zarkasyi (salah satu trimurti pengasuh Gontor) selama mengenyam di Padang Thawalib pada era penjajahan, kemudian menghantarkannya bertemu dengan H. Oemar Bakry hingga menjadikan keduanya sebagai Shahib al-Hamim (sahabat karib). Keakrabannya sebagai sahabat kemudian berimplikasi pada lahirnya At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi yang diajarkan secara bertahun-tahun di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). Selanjutnya, Penelitian ini adalah berjenis kualitatif dengan menggunakan sumber kepustakaan (library research) dan kajian (objek formal) yang dijadikan kacamata analisis epistemologi tafsir Abdul Mustaqim. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kitab At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi sumbernya didominasi oleh Tafsir Al-Manar karya Abduh dan Rasyid Ridho yang dianggap sebagai penggerak modernisasi dunia Islam. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan adalah ijmali dengan corak al-Adab al-Ijtima’i di satu sisi, di sisi lainnya bercorak At-Tarbawi. Terakhir, validitas penafsiran H. Oemar Bakri dapat dilihat berdasarkan teori koherensi dan teori pragmatis.Kata Kunci : At-Tafsir Al-Madrasi, epistemologi tafsir, H. Oemar Bakry.

Abstract

This research focuses on the concept of khusyu' contained in Tafsir Al Jāmi' Li Ahkām Al-Qur'an written by Imam Al-Qurtubi in depth and comprehensively. The method used is descriptive analytical. This research is based on a literature review using various books in the library and digitally that can be accessed easily. The results of this study indicate that khusyu' interpreted by Al-Qurtubi can be implemented into various activities such as Gaining peace of mind, Strengthening soul and mentality, Always remembering the hereafter, Avoiding a hard heart, Gaining an attitude of Tawadhu' to God as well as to others, Gaining Attitude Tawadhu 'to Allah as well as to others, and Leads to luck and success in life.

Abstract

The position of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd by Abdurrauf al-Singkili as a precedent for interpretive literature in Indonesia has ontological problems. Accusations circulated that Tarjumān al-Mustafīd was just a translated copy of al-Baiḍāwi's commentary on Anwār al-Tanzīl wa Asrār al-Ta'wīl. In comparison, other groups consider it a translation of Tafsīr Jalālayn. These two claims seem to cast doubt on Tarjumān Al-Mustafīd as an authentic interpretation work. Every work of interpretation always involves the subjectivity of the interpreter. Through an analysis of the epistemology of interpretation, this research reveals the genealogy, method, and validity of al-Singkili's interpretation in Tarjumān al-Mustafīd. The findings of this research highlight three essential aspects: First, Tarjumān al-Mustafīd is not merely the result of translation (vernacularization) of one particular interpretation as has been alleged so far. Several other tafsir, such as Tafsīr Jalālayn and Tafsīr al-Khāzin, also influenced the presentation pattern of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd. Second, al-Singkili's interpretive method is similar to al-Baiḍāwi but not wholly the same. Al-Singkili also adopted the pattern of writing the Indonesian turath books, which use keywords such as fāidah, tanbīh, the word mufasir, and others. Third, Tarjumān al-Mustafīd qualifies as a valid or authentic interpretation of consistency and correspondence. This research offers a novel contribution by positioning Tarjumān al-Mustafīd as a unique synthesis of classical Islamic exegesis and the scholarly tradition of the Nusantara, demonstrating its originality as an interpretive work that bridges global Islamic scholarship with localized epistemological frameworks.

Abstract

Religious tolerance has contributed to a national campaign related to religious moderation through the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs which continues to be promoted to a wide audience in Indonesia. All elements take part in the realisation of religious tolerance to fight radicalism, extremism, and ideas that refer to disintegration. Furthermore, the narrative of religious tolerance aims to build peace in diversity. In an increasingly sophisticated world, religious narrative campaigns do not only occur in the religious institution but also occur in the social media space, as happened on Instagram such as @toleransi.id. There are around 38 thousand followers on this account and their followers continue to grow so that the nuances of the narrative of religious tolerance become colourful and rich. This research utilises library research using qualitative methods and the lens of virtual ethnography theory. By posting content from the @toleransi.id account, the research results show that community interaction in the media space in discussing religious tolerance shows a strong correlation between the real and virtual worlds. Second, it shows the interaction of virtual communities with a wider scope than in real communities. Third, the discussion of the theme focused on adjusting the context of the media account of tolerance.

Abstract

AbstractUnderstanding the figurative meaning of majaz al-Qur'an in the context of ulum al-Qur'an entails some effort. The author will explore allusions from the majaz in terms of meaning and wisdom. The position of majaz al-Qur'an differs from that of the discourse on proverbs, which deals with concrete examples. Therefore, this study explains how the position of majaz influences the cognitive development of its readers from the perspective of educational psychology. Furthermore, this study also explores the educational value of majaz al-Qur'an. The author employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to address the concern mentioned above. The findings of this study lead to features of the formation of thought in terms of educational psychology in general and the complete meaning of educational values in particular.Keywords: Education; Majaz Al-Qur'an; Psychology; Thinking.AbstrakPembahasan majaz al-Qur’an dalam studi ulum al-Qur’an membutuhkan usaha yang keras dalam memahami makna kiasannya. Kiasan-kiasan dari majaz tersebut akan penulis telusuri makna serta hikmahnya. Posisinya majaz al-Qur’an berbeda dengan diskursus Amsal yang membahas secara kongkrit tentang permisalan.  Selanjutnya, untuk mengungkap hal tersebut maka tulisan ini akan memaparkan bagaimana posisi majaz mampu membentuk konstruksi berfikir pembacanya melalui perspektif psikologi pendidikan lalu bagaimana nilai pendidikan yang terkandung dalam majaz al-Qur’an. Kemudian, untuk menjawab kegelisahan diatas maka penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan deksriptif-analisis. Hasil penelitian ini selanjutnya mengarah pada aspek-aspek pembentukan berfikir yang ditinjau dari disiplin psikologi pendidikan secara umum dan secara spesifik terkandung di dalamnya makna yang penuh dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan. Abstract

Religious activities in Indonesia suffered such massive turmoil that social media was used as a container. Then, the devotion performed by one individual is an obligation for Indonesian Muslims and the world. The spread of religious content in the virtual world seemed to upset Muslim viewers about the authenticity and validity of the source of the content distributed by an account on social media of various platforms. However, through the Book of Mercy, the author sees that there is an offer of innovation about the virtual authority of prophecy so as not to cause a faulty expansion of science. What's more, the diverse understanding of content creators has the potential to complain to the sheep and spread propaganda to the general public. Through a library-based study using the intertextuality glasses that were designed by Julia Kristeva, the message and substance of H. Oemar Bakry's offer to look at the problem will be depicted. Thus, this paper aims to respond to the new offer by creating an agency under the government's auspices of virtual authority. The aim is to counteract the provocative, tendentious, biased, subjective, and evocative messages that float in the virtual universe. Starting from this research, it will be illustrated that this study has produced a new finding that H. Oemar Bakry offers the meaning of forming a strong, honest, and orderly group of preachers. The function of the jury is to be a source of reference for the treasures of Indonesian Islamic sciences.Abstrak: Kegiatan dakwah di Indonesia mengalami gejolak yang begitu besar, dimana sosial media digunakan sebagai wadahnya. Kemudian, dakwah yang dilakukan dari satu individu merupakan kewajiban muslim Indonesia dan dunia. Penyebaran konten dakwah dalam dunia virtual seakan meresahkan para viewers muslim tentang keaslian dan keotentikan sumber konten yang disebarkan oleh sebuah akun di media sosial dari berbagai flatform.  Namun, melalui Tafsir Rahmat penulis melihat bahwa ada tawaran kebaharuan tentang otoritas dakwah virtual agar tidak terjadinya ekspansi ilmu yang cacat. Terlebih lagi, pemahaman yang beragam dari para content creator berpotensi mengadu domba dan menyebarkan propaganda di khalayak luas. Melalui kajian yang berbasis kepustakaan (library research) dengan menggunakan kacamata intertekstualitas yang dipelopori oleh Julia Kristeva akan tergambar pesan dan substansi tawaran H. Oemar Bakry dalam melihat problematika tersebut. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini bertujuan merespon tawaran baru dengan membuat sebuah lembaga di bawah nauangan pemerintah tentang otoritas dakwah virtual. Tujuannya untuk menanggulangi pesan-pesan dakwah yang sifatnya provokatif, tendensius, bias, memihak, subjektif, evokatif yang berseliweran di jagad maya. Hasil dari penelitian ini akan tergambar bahwa kajian ini telah menghasilkan temuan baru bahwa H. Oemar Bakry menawarkan makna akan dibentuk kelompok juru dakwah yang kuat, jujur, dan teratur. Fungsi dari juru dakwah yakni menjadi sumber referensi khazanah keilmuan Islam Indonesia.
