Abstract

Degenerative diseases are chronic diseases that affect a person's quality of life and productivity. Degenerative diseases include hypertension, asthma, cancer, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and so on. Indonesia's current health problems are influenced by lifestyle, work environment, and stress. The purpose of the study was to determine the differences in laboratory examination results of blood chemistry profiles (blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, creatinine, urea, and SGOT levels) at productive age in the Jambi City Health Center Working Area in 2022. The cross-sectional research method with the population is the community in Posbindu in the working area of 3 Puskesmas (KONI, Pakuan Baru, and Putri Ayu) with purposive sampling technique, where the research sample is the Posbindu group who are productive age (16-64 years) which amounted to 140 respondents. The data obtained were then analyzed by independent t-test. The results of laboratory examinations of blood chemistry profile levels, where each variable has high levels, namely 25% prediabetes blood sugar levels, and 10.7% diabetes. Cholesterol 30%, uric acid 20.7%, creatinine 4.3%, ureum 6.4% and SGOT 10%. Conclusion There is a significant difference between the average levels (blood sugar, cholesterol, creatinine, urea, and SGOT) in the productive age group with blood pressure. While uric acid levels have no significant difference because the pvalue> 0.05. Suggestions for the community, it is hoped that they can pay more attention to health conditions by routinely doing Medical check-ups to minimize the occurrence of degenerative diseases at a productive age.

Abstract

An increase in blood pressure above the standard threshold is categorized as hypertension. A few variables that are such as age, genetics, unhealthy habits, and foods high in fat, salt, or cholesterol, may impact the appearance of hypertension. Increases in blood triglycerides and cholesterol may occur due to hypertension. Atherosclerotic plaque, produced by excess cholesterol and triglycerides interacting with other chemicals and depositing in the arteries, causes the heart to work harder to deliver blood to all tissues. This research aims to determine how hypertension patients at the UPTD Regional Health Laboratory in Jambi City react to their triglyceride and cholesterol levels. This study used an analytical descriptive research methodology. In this study, 50 hypertension patients were asked about triglyceride and cholesterol levels measured using the GPO-PAP method and the CHOD-PAP enzymatic colorimetric cholesterol test method. According to the study's results, hypertension patients had a mean cholesterol level of 275.76 mg/dl and a mean triglyceride level of 236.64 mg/dl. Statistical analyses showed a strong correlation (p<0.05) between triglycerides and cholesterol in hypertension patients at the UPTD Regional Health Laboratory in Jambi City. Patients with hypertension need to maintain a healthy lifestyle and get periodic tests for triglycerides and cholesterol to reduce the risk of problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between lipid profiles and the incidence of hypertension in the POSBINDU group at the Jambi City Health Center. The research method used in this research is observational analytics using a cross-sectional design involving 100 respondents who were randomly selected and met the sample requirements. This research was carried out from April to July 2023. Research data analysis used the chi-square test, where the statistical test results show a p-value < 0.05. The research results showed that of the 100 data samples, the most significant number of respondents based on gender were men (26.0% and women (74.0%). The results of the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between cholesterol and triglyceride levels and the incidence of hypertension (p-value = 0.000). In contrast, BMI status, cholesterol levels, HDL levels, and LDL levels were not significant with the incidence of hypertension. The research conclusion was that the incidence of hypertension was related to triglyceride levels and not related to BMI status, cholesterol levels, HDL levels, and LDL levels. Abstract

DM is a disease caused by high blood sugar levels due to disorders of the pancreas and insulin. However, 1 in 2 people with DM do not know that they have DM. To control DM, the Ministry of Health itself has established 13,500 Integrated Development Posts (Posbindu) to facilitate citizens' access to early detection of DM. Apart from that, the Minister of Health appealed to the public to take CERDIK action, in the form of diligent physical activity, a healthy and balanced diet, adequate rest and managing stress. The aim of this Community Service is to increase the implementation of CERDIK action as an effort to prevent and control DM disease in the Penyengat Olak Village community. The activities carried out were in the form of counseling about diabetes mellitus, CERDIK action and blood glucose checks in the Penyengat Olak Village community. The results of the activity show that public knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus has increased, where before the outreach the public only knew that Diabetes existed but did not know how it could be affected and how to treat, prevent and control the disease, after the outreach the public became more knowledgeable about Diabetes Mellitus. The community also did not know that the CERDIK action program existed, after the activities the community learned that there was a CERDIK action to control DM disease. The results of blood glucose examinations show that the majority of people have normal blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Background: Urinary tract infections are still a health problem because the morbidity and mortality rates are still quite high. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the second most common infectious disease after respiratory infections. UTI can also occur in all ages, from children to adults. UTI can be caused by gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria as well as fungi. This research aims to identify the germs that cause UTI and find out which types of antibiotics are sensitive and resistant through examining urine cultures of UTI sufferers and to find out the factors that cause resistance. Method: This research design is analytical descriptive. The research was conducted in the Bacteriology laboratory, medical laboratory technology department, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Jambi. Results: Based on gender, there were 20 male respondents (33%) while there were more female respondents, namely 40 (67%). The age range of respondents was 1 to 67 years with an average of 19 years, with the highest number of UTI cases aged 1-15 years, namely 63%. The most common germ pattern that causes UTI is E. Coli bacteria 29 (48%) followed by Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria 18%. Of the bacterial forms, 28% are cocci and 72% are rods. Conclusion: The germ pattern that causes urinary tract infections is caused by 9 species of bacteria, the most common being E. Coli bacteria at 48% and the second being Staphylococcus epidermidis (18%). UTIs often occur in women and based on age, most occur in children 1-15 years.
