Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of physical activity among male employees at the Class IIA Kendal District Correctional Institution to support the implementation of security and community service tasks. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with the instrument being the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) to measure the level of physical activity. The population and sample of the study consist of 30 male employees. The analysis results show that the majority of employees fall into the low physical activity category (46.67%). As many as 36.67% of employees have a moderate level of physical activity, and only 16.66% fall into the high physical activity category. These findings indicate that the majority of male employees have not yet reached an optimal level of physical activity to support job demands that require physical readiness, stamina, and body endurance. The low level of physical activity can negatively impact the work performance and long-term health of employees. Therefore, concrete efforts are needed to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity through structured, sustainable, and task-specific physical fitness programs.

Abstract

Problems: The low results of the upper serve in volleyball are still a technical problem that is often encountered, especially in the adolescent age group. The ability to serve up is very dependent on the strength and power of the arm muscles which function to produce a strong and directional push. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength and arm muscle power to the results of the upper serve on female athletes of the Semarang City Atlas Volleyball Club U-15. Methods: This study uses correlational research. The sample consisted of 15 female athletes aged 15 years who were taken using total sampling technique. The data collection technique uses a 60-second push-up test to measure arm muscle strength, 3 kg medicine ball throw (three attempts, the best results are taken) to measure arm muscle power, and the AAHPER volleyball top serve test (10 attempts) to measure the results of the top serve. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, normality test, correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results: The results of this study indicate that there is a very strong contribution between arm muscle strength, and arm muscle power to the results of the Atlas club female athletes obtained from r square of 0.965 (96.5%). However, when viewed based on the t test (partial) only arm muscle strength contributes 76.88% and is significant to the results of the upper serve with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.025 (p <0.05). Meanwhile, arm muscle power contributed 19.61%, although it was not statistically significant at 0.221 (p> 0.05) to the results of the upper serve

Abstract

Research Problems: Parental involvement is a crucial factor in supporting the development and achievement of athletes, including those in Taekwondo. Parents’ support, in the form of motivation, accompaniment, and facilities, plays an important role in shaping athletes’ confidence and performance. However, the level of involvement often varies, making it necessary to investigate further the role of parents in the process of fostering athletic achievement. Research Objectives: This study aims to describe the forms of parental involvement in supporting the improvement of Taekwondo athletes’ performance. Methods: The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with participants consisting of coaches, athletes, and parents from the Koryo Club and Lembah Cobra Taekwondo Dojangs in Pekalongan Regency. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, using interview guidelines, observation sheets, and supporting documents as instruments. Data were analysed using source and method triangulation to ensure validity and provide a comprehensive understanding. Results: The findings indicate that parental involvement manifests in four main aspects: motivational (encouragement, praise, and support during failure), logistical (providing facilities and training needs), emotional (accompanying athletes during training and competitions), and educational (family communication regarding the athlete’s development). This involvement positively contributes to athletes’ motivation, confidence, and achievement. Conclusion: Parental involvement plays a significant role in enhancing Taekwondo athletes’ performance. Comprehensive parental support not only strengthens children’s motivation but also creates a more conducive environment for athletic development.
