Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic and the issue of mental health among adolescents is one of the important issues that need to be responded. However, there have been few studies amongst Indonesian adolescents that have been conducted. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the contribution of self-concept toward the mental health of Indonesian Adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is the quantitative research method and regression analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis. The population of this study is Indonesian adolescents and the sampling technic used in this study is convenience sampling. The participants included109 adolescents, specifically 20 boys, and 89 girls, with a mean of19.9. They were asked to complete a set of self-report questionnaires, including Personal Self-Concept (PSC) and Mental Health Inventory (MHI-18). The results showed a positive and significant influence of self-concept on adolescent mental health with a variance of41.5%. The finding of this study highlights the importance of promoting a positive self-concept in supporting adolescent mental health, especially during pandemics. The result of this study also alerts educators in universities and government agents the need to prevent and respond adequately to the negative effect of the pandemic on adolescent mental health.

Abstract

There are many problems that adolescents experience with mental health, but unfortunately these are foten not addressed by professionals. This is due to adolescents' lack of mental health literacy, fear of stigma, and feeling that professional help is not important. The prupose of this study is to examine the influence of mental health literacy, Coping srategies, and help-seeking behavior in adolescents. Several previous studies have examined that the relationship between mental health literacy with help-seeking behavior and Coping strategies with help-seeking behavior. The result explain that there is a relationship between mental health literacy with help-seeking behavior and Coping strategies with help seeking behavior. No research has been found that examines the role of mental health literacy and Coping strategies on help-seeking behavior in adolescents. This study used a quantitative method with a questionnaire for a data collection. The measuring instruments used were the Mental Health Knowledge Questionnaire (MHKQ) by Jung et al., (2016), the Coping Stress Scale developed by Akhtar and Helmi (2014), and the Help Seeking Behavior Scale created by Mackenzie, et al. (2004). All three measuring instruments have been adapted and pilot tested. The findings showed that mental health literacy and Coping strategies have a positive and significant effect on adolescent help-seeking behavior. Abstrak Banyaknya permasalahan yang dialami remaja terkait kesehatan mental, namun sayangnya hal ini sering tidak mendapatkan penanganan oleh professional. Hal ini terjadi karena kurangnya literasi kesehatan mental yang dimiliki remaja, kekhawatiran akan stigma dan perasaan bahwa bantuan professional tidak penting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat pengaruh literasi kesehatan mental, strategi Coping terhadap perilaku mencari bantuan pada remaja. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu telah mengkaji hubungan antara literasi kesehatan mental dengan perilaku mencari bantuan serta strategi Coping dengan perilaku mencari bantuan. Hasilnya menjelaskan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara literasi kesehatan mental dengan perilaku mencari bantuan dan strategi Coping dengan perilaku mencari bantuan. Belum ditemukan penelitian yang mengkaji peran literasi kesehatan mental dan strategi Coping terhadap perilaku mencari bantuan pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan kuesioner untuk pengambilan data. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Mental Health Knowledge Questionnaire (MHKQ) oleh Jung dkk. (2016), Coping Stress Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Akhtar dan Helmi (2014), dan Help Seeking Behavior Scale yang dibuat oleh Mackenzie, dkk. (2004). Ketiga alat ukur telah diadaptasi dan diuji coba. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi kesehatan mental dan strategi Coping berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku mencari bantuan pada remaja.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Behavioral Activation (BA) to reduce student's depression disorders of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Methods of data collection using observations, semi-structured interviews, and BDI measurement tools. The measuring instrument used is the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) made by Beck in (1976) translated by Zarina (2007). Interference disorders need to be given an intervention, because subjects with depressive disorders tend to avoid social environment, easily feel tired, avoid or do nothing activities, almost all the time experiencing feelings of depression, easily distracted concentration, etc.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the description of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in flood survivors. Data method using PCL-C measuring instrument. This study used the PCL-C scale from Weathers et al., (1994) developed by Solichah (2007). Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis techniques with the help of SPSS version 22. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that subjects who experienced symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who were in the high category were 24.6%, 61.5% moderate, and low 13,8%.

Abstract

Teenagers lack of understanding about mental health literacy is a very important thing to pay attention to. Not a few teenagers experience mental health problems such as stress, depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and others, but they do not receive optimal treatment because they do not have good mental health literacy. Therefore, psychoeducation is needed to help teenagers become more familiar with mental health literacy. This psychoeducation aims to increase mental health literacy among teenagers in Pasir Tanjung. Psychoeducation is delivered using the lecture method. The participants were 27 teenagers in Pasir Tanjung. This psychoeducation program went according to plan and without significant obstacles. Participants also seemed enthusiastic and eager to take part in the activities carried out.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide post-disaster psychological handling assistance to teachers at SDN Sukamaju 1, Benjot Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java. The approach given is psychosocial. Psychosocial was given to 8 teachers. Psychosocial is given to teachers through lectures, games, and simulations. The results of community service show that teachers feel happy, know how to manage emotions and perform the first rescue in case of disaster. The impact of psychosocial provided helps teachers to have skills in managing emotions, knowledge of disasters, and enthusiasm in carrying out teaching and learning activities in the future.

Abstract

Dalam pelaksanaan bimbingan akademik, dosen dan mahasiswa harus bersinergi agar tercipta bimbingan yang berkualitas. Dalam pelaksanaan bimbingan akademik sering terjadi hambatan, sehingga proses bimbingan tidak tercipta dengan baik. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah mahasiswa merasa kesulitan untuk melaksanakan bimbingan secara tatap muka, karena kesibukan dosen dan ada mahasiswa yang merasa cemas jika harus bertemu langsung dengan dosennya. Hambatan ini dapat memengaruhi kualitas bimbingan, yang berdampak mahasiswa tidak menyelesaikan masa studi tepat waktu, IPK rendah, dan masalah kesehatan mental lainnya. Dalam artikel ini, kami mengusulkan program e-konseling berbasis web, bernama unjcare. Program ini memfasilitasi kebutuhan layanan bimbingan akademik dan konseling pada mahasiswa dan terekamnya riwayat waktu dan hasil bimbingan konseling untuk dosen. Pada program ini terdapat fitur membuat, mengatur ulang, dan membatalkan jadwal bimbingan akademik atau konseling, mencari informasi mengenai konselor di puskesmas terdekat, dan mengedukasi mahasiswa dengan berbagai informasi dan artikel yang disediakan terkait kesehatan mental, gangguan mental, dan pengembangan diri.
