Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) Bagaimana bullying di kalangan siswa, dan 2) Mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan metode konferensi kasus dalam mengatasi bullying di kalangan siswa MAS Pulo Kemiri Babussalam Aceh Tenggara. Sebagai subjek penelitiannya adalah guru BK dan siswa MAS Pulo Kemiri Babussalam Aceh Tenggara. Teknik pengumpulan datanya digunakan observasi, wawancara dan pemeriksaan dokumen. Setelah data terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif, yaitu dengan membandingkan dan menghubung-hubungkan data yang terkumpul dengan kenyataan dan teori-teori yang digunakan.Setelah dilakukan pengumpulan data, maka hasil penelitian sebagai temuan penelitian ini adalah 1) pelaksanaan konferensi kasus dilaksanakan melalui tahapan-tahapan sesuai dengan pedoman pelaksanaan konferensi kasus. Adapun tahap kegiatan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi kegiatan, analisis hasil evaluasi, dan tindaklanjut bahwa peristiwa bullying kerapkali terjadi dikalangan siswa di sekolah sehingga memerlukan penanganan dari guru BK sebab membawa akibat negative bagi kondisi psikologis siswa, 2) Metode konferensi kasus dalam mengatasi masalah aksivitas belajar siswa yaitu melalui tahapan-tahapan sesuai dengan pedoman pelaksanaan konferensi kasus. Adapun tahap kegiatan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi kegiatan, analisis hasil evaluasi, dan tindak lajut dan dilakukan untuk mengatasi perilaku bullying adalah dengan membuka pertemuan, menyelenggarakan penstrukturan, meminta komitmen peserta, membahas kasus perilaku, menegaskan peran peserta, menyimpulkan hasil pembahasan, menutup pertemuan serta diarahkan agar siswa mampu mengembangkan pemahaman diri siswa sehingga lebih mampu dalam mengendalikan perilaku untuk dapat melakukan aktivitas yang bermanfaat terutama untuk keberhasilan dalam belajar di sekolah.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of group counselling services in improving students’ problem-solving skills within the environment of the Islamic Centre Foundation of North Sumatra. The background of this research is based on preliminary findings indicating that some students experience difficulties in addressing and resolving problems they encounter, both in school and in daily life. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, allowing the researcher to deeply observe the counselling intervention process in its natural context. The research subjects consisted of several students selected purposively based on initial assessments that revealed low levels of problem-solving skills. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, carried out continuously over six group counselling sessions. Each session was designed to guide students in systematically identifying problems, exploring alternative solutions, considering the consequences of each option, and making rational and responsible decisions. The findings of the study show a significant improvement in key aspects of students’ problem-solving skills, as reflected in changes in their attitudes and behaviours when facing problematic situations at school and at home. These results reinforce the view that group counselling can serve as an effective intervention strategy to help students develop critical thinking abilities and adaptive social skills. Based on these findings, it is recommended that schools and educational institutions integrate group counselling services into their student development programs, particularly in fostering life skills. Furthermore, school counsellors are encouraged to design structured, student-centred counselling sessions to enhance the effectiveness of the services provided.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the strategies used by Guidance and Counseling teachers in addressing time limitations in classroom entry at SMA Dharma Utama. Time limitations have become one of the significant challenges in implementing services, particularly in providing equitable attention to all students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the research are teachers and several students, as well as relevant subject teachers. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Guidance and Counseling teachers apply various strategies such as utilizing digital technology (social media, class WhatsApp groups), flexible service implementation outside of class hours, and collaboration with homeroom teachers and subject teachers. In addition, guidance and counseling teachers also optimize group guidance and schedule classical counseling services. These strategies have proven to be quite effective in reaching students more broadly despite time constraints. This research recommends the need for stronger institutional support and the integration of guidance and counseling programs with other school activities to improve the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in helping students deal with subject teachers who do not master or prepare the material at MAN 1 Medan. With a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation, it was found that the learning process still faces serious obstacles, such as minimal variation in methods, lack of mastery of the material, and limited use of learning media. This causes students to become passive, lose interest in learning, and have difficulty understanding the material. To overcome this, BK Teachers implement various strategies, such as individual and group counseling services, classical guidance, and a persuasive approach to subject teachers. This strategy is effective in increasing students' motivation, mental readiness, and enthusiasm for learning, while creating a more conducive learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in shaping students' understanding and compliance with school regulations at MTSN 2 Medan. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. Through an educational and humanistic approach, BK teachers provide guidance services in the form of orientation, classical guidance, individual counseling, and case conferences to address violations that occur. School regulations are conveyed in a communicative manner so that students not only understand the contents of the regulations, but also understand the reasons and values behind them. BK teachers also implement a violation point system and SPO (Parental Statement Letter) as collaborative development instruments. After conducting various analyses, the results of this study can be concluded that Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers have a strategic role in shaping students' understanding and compliance with school regulations at MTSN 2 Medan. This role is realized through guidance services that are educational, collaborative, and humanistic, including orientation, classical guidance, individual counseling, and involvement in case conferences. Guidance and counseling teachers not only perform supervisory functions but also play an active role in developing students' character through persuasive communication and the implementation of structured guidance systems, such as violation points and Parental Statement Letters (SPO). Overall, the approach implemented by guidance and counseling teachers has proven effective in reducing violation rates and encouraging the internalization of disciplinary values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya fenomena remaja dari keluarga broken home yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam membentuk hubungan sosial yang sehat, khususnya dalam memilih teman sebaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keadaan broken home dengan kemampuan pemilihan teman sebaya yang sesuai pada siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 35 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dan teknik purposive sampling, dengan melibatkan 25 siswa yang teridentifikasi dalam kondisi broken home. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket yang dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kondisi broken home dan kemampuan dalam memilih teman sebaya yang sesuai, yang berarti semakin kompleks permasalahan keluarga yang dialami, semakin tinggi kemampuan remaja dalam pemilihan teman sebaya. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya intervensi bimbingan konseling yang difokuskan pada peningkatan keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa broken home. Kesimpulannya, latar belakang keluarga berperan penting dalam pengambilan keputusan sosial remaja, dan temuan ini menjadi pijakan penting bagi guru BK dan orang tua untuk lebih memahami kebutuhan psikososial remaja yang rentan.

Abstract

The number of students in grade XII of Budisatrya Private High School amounted to 154 people, 43% of students continued to higher education, and 57% did not continue to college. They choose to try to apply for jobs, for example, to become members of the Police, TNI, Security Guards, entrepreneurs, and factory workers. Guidance and counselling teachers help grade XII students for further education by directing and motivating them to continue their college education. Counseling guidance teachers give students views on the importance of education, how the university is portrayed, provide the latest information about the university, prospective police or army applications and job vacancy information for high school graduates and advise that a bright future cannot be achieved without hard work, therefore students are expected to always strive to achieve their goals with optimism and persistence. The supporting factors of counselling guidance teachers in preparing students for further education are the existence of lively socialisation between the school and the university and socialisation between the school and alumni that make it easier for students to continue to college, careers, entrepreneurship, and factory workers. Factors that hinder guidance and counselling teachers in preparing students for further education are the absence of transfer from university to school, and the lack of socialisation time, so socialisation runs less than optimally.

Abstract

MATERIALS AND STRATEGIES OF BK TEACHERS IN FOSTERING STUDENT MANNERSThis qualitative research aims to obtain information regarding the materials and strategies of guidance and counseling teachers in fostering student morality. The data sources were guidance and counseling teachers and students. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documents were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the materials provided by guidance and counseling teachers in fostering student morality include morality, social behavior, and other topics integrated with Islamic law. These materials are implemented in accordance with the guidance and counseling perspective, although not optimally. Guidance and counseling teachers, in implementing guidance and counseling services for students, have not collaborated well with subject teachers. This is due to their respective busy schedules and misperceptions regarding the functions of guidance and counseling. In implementing guidance and counseling services, the strategy employed by guidance and counseling teachers is to provide materials with an Islamic sharia approach, which has a positive influence and inspires students, enabling them to gain direction and purpose from the material, leading to greater civility and closerness to God. Furthermore, the implementation of guidance and counseling services in fostering student morality has received a positive response from students, although in practice, students have not utilized the counseling services as intended. Guidance and counseling teachers also establish relationships with parents through home visits.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the strategies applied by guidance and counseling teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra in fostering students' honest and responsible character. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach, based on phenomenological studies. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research sample included guidance and counseling teachers, students, and other support staff involved in the guidance and counseling process in schools. The results of the study show that students in class XI at the school already have a fairly high level of honest characteristics. The strategy used in forming honest and responsible characters is integrating values ​​and ethics in each subject, internalizing positive values ​​in students, providing habituation and training, and setting an example. In forming honest and responsible characters, the teacher applies three main stages, namely moral knowing (instilling moral knowledge), moral feeling (instilling a sense of love and being happy to do what is good and right), and moral action (carrying out moral actions that are supported by understanding and former love, which later becomes a habit.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu usaha pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Manusia dengan sumber daya yang berkualitas tinggi dianggap sebagai bangsa yang unggul. Tingginya kualitas sumber daya manusia itu, salah satunya dicapai melalui bidang pendidikan. Pendidikan yang diselenggarakan berhasil mewujudkan kepribadian dan potensi (bakat, minat, dan kemampuan) masyarakatnya dikembangkan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah.
