Abstract

 This research focuses on the utilization of book collections by senior students in the Tafsir and Hadith studies program as references for their thesis. The study aims to reveal the understanding of senior students in utilizing book collections as reference sources, employing a qualitative approach with interview and descriptive case study methods. Participants in the study were selected using purposive sampling from senior students in the mentioned program. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that students consider book collections as essential reading materials and sources of knowledge to support their thesis writing. Identified challenges include the limited and outdated nature of book collections, students' lack of awareness regarding the location of required collections, librarian services, and retrieval facilities. Therefore, it is recommended to make efforts to improve the availability and accessibility of book collections, as well as enhance students' understanding of utilizing informational resources in the library.

Abstract

Libraries must embrace innovation, ensuring that users can easily access and enjoy the services offered. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of DOREMI (Millennial Arek Tales) services as a novel means of cultural introduction. Employing a quantitative approach with descriptive research, the study utilized non-probability sampling, involving 100 respondents. Research methods included observation, distribution of questionnaires, and documentation. The study found that the DOREMI Live Streaming Service Innovation Program (Fairy Tales of Millennials) at the Tulungagung Regency Regional Library adheres to all principles of program innovation, encompassing program objectives, socialization, observations, and effectiveness. A significant 64% of respondents agreed that the DOREMI program enhances information and motivates them to engage in reading, while an equal percentage found the program organized by the library to be interesting. Additionally, 74% strongly agreed that participating in the DOREMI service imparted moral messages from the stories. The services provided an engaging and entertaining platform for storytelling, contributing to the promotion of cultural diversity and heritage within society. This enriches people's knowledge and understanding of various cultures. In conclusion, the services proved highly effective as a medium for introducing culture to the millennial generation in today's era.

Abstract

Learning media is a medium that can be used by teachers to convey a message and can stimulate the mind, increase the enthusiasm, attention, and willingness of students so that they can motivate students in the learning process. One of the Learning media is a puzzle game. The puzzle game is used by TPQLB Spirit Dakwah Indonesia to support literacy for students with hearing impairments. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The sample in this study consisted of 9 informants consisting of 3 students with hearing impairments, 3 permanent teachers. 3 guardians of the students who were the guardians of the students who were used as informants. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman models, namely data reduction, data disply, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate that students with hearing impairments can be said to be literate. It can be seen that deaf students are able to write and read. Reading literacy includes reading volumes and asmaul husna. Writing literacy includes writing hijaiyah letters, writing Arabic numerals, writing calligraphy, writing fiqh material such as procedures for prayer and procedures for ablution.

Abstract

This article addresses the critical need for the preservation of Qur’anic manuscripts, focusing on the role of media transfer or digitization in safeguarding these valuable artifacts. The paper explores two main questions: the most effective preservation methods for ancient manuscripts and the contribution of mobile-based applications in disseminating information about these heritage objects. A qualitative research approach, combining philological and facsimile methods, was employed. The research focused on Qur’anic manuscripts held by individual collectors and pesantrens in the East Java region. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique, involving stages of data arrangement, organization, and categorization. The findings revealed that mobile-based applications offer an efficient and cost-effective solution for preserving Qur’anic manuscripts, which are in deteriorating conditions. More than ten manuscripts observed in this study face inadequate storage and maintenance conditions. The development of the MAQDA digital application is a strategic and practical step for preserving these manuscripts. The study also emphasizes the need to make privately held manuscripts publicly accessible, raising awareness about the importance of preserving tangible cultural heritage. This paper contributes to the field of manuscript conservation, preservation, and digitization, highlighting the urgent need to safeguard numerous manuscripts, other than Qur’anic texts that are at risk and remain in private hands without infringing on ownership rights.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The impact of the issue of the industry 4.0 phenomenon with the emergence of digital media and technological developments is the Quora application which can be used to develop literacy which emphasizes experience of various subjects based on data, facts and practical knowledge. This research was conducted to find out how the use of the Quora application as digital media influences the development of reading and writing literacy for generation z. This research uses the technology acceptance model theory put forward by Davis and the theory of the national literacy movement put forward by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This research uses a positivism paradigm and a quantitative approach by conducting observations, distributing questionnaires and documentation. The sample used in this research was 100 respondents who were Generation Z users of the Quora application using a purposive sampling technique, namely where the researcher chose the sample based on research knowledge about the sample to be selected. Data was obtained through distributing questionnaires to respondents. Data validity testing was carried out by conducting validity and reliability tests on 30 statement items with valid and reliable results. Meanwhile, power analysis techniques are carried out using normality tests, linearity tests, correlation tests and hypothesis tests. This research uses a simple linear regression analysis technique to test the research hypothesis by conducting a coefficient of determination test and a t test. The results of the R square calculation are 0.529, which shows that there is a correlation between the use of the Quora application as digital media and the development of reading and writing literacy for generation Z, which is 0.471, influenced by other variables outside the research. The research results show that there is a good influence of using the Quora application as digital media in developing reading and writing literacy for generation Z.

Abstract

Introduction: Information technology in the last few decades has undergone a fairly rapid development. These developments show a change in the way humans interact using new media. YouTube has become one of the social media forms of new media. The millennial generation is a generation whose lives have not been separated from social media, but unfortunately in its use is often used only as a means of entertainment, although in fact there is a lot of useful content in it, such as Islamic content. However, content like this is generally less in demand because of its nature that tends to be serious and not entertaining. One of the youtube channels that attracted a lot of attention from users of social media is the youtube channel Gus Iqdam Officiall. Exposure messages on social media has become one of the containers for disseminating information that has the potential to enhance Islamic literacy. The aim of this research is to find out the impact of Gus iqdam Mohammad's study content on the improvement of millennial generation Islamic literacy in Trenggalek district. Data Collection Methods: This research is research that uses quantitative methods, with data collection methods, namely by distributing online questionnaires using Googleform to respondents in the 22 to 43 year old category who live in Trenggalek Regency with a sample size of 100 people. Data Analysis: The data obtained from distributing online questionnaires was then processed and analyzed with the help of the IBM SPSS V.25.0 application. Results and Discussion: The results showed that there was an effect of exposure to Gus Iqdam Muhammad's recitation content on increasing the Islamic literacy of the millennial generation in Trenggalek district. This result is indicated by the calculated t value of 9.950 which is greater than the t table value of 1.984 and the significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 at the 5% significance level. So that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The magnitude of the influence of the exposure of Gus Iqdam Muhammad's recitation content on increasing the Islamic literacy of the millennial generation in Trenggalek Regency is indicated by the R square value of 0.484 which indicates that there is an influence of 48.4% while the remaining 51.6% is due to factors not discussed in this study. Conclusion: The results showed that there was an effect of exposure to Gus Iqdam Muhammad's recitation content on increasing the Islamic literacy of the millennial generation in Trenggalek district. Through these results, it is hoped that this research can provide insight into how effective the media is in increasing Islamic literacy.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perpustakaan diselenggarakan oleh pemerintah sebagai lembaga yang mendukung keberhasilan instansi yang menaunginya. Keberadaan perpustakaan pada dasarnya bertujuan untuk menunjang terlaksananya fungsi dari pendidikan nasional. Dalam hubungannya dengan hal tersebut perpustakaan memiliki peran penting dalam menunjang pendidikan karakter khususnya dalam hal mengembangkan sikap gemar membaca. Gemar membaca merupakan kebiasaan menyediakan waktu untuk membaca berbagai bacaan yang memberikan kebaikan bagi dirinya. Namun seiring perkembangan teknologi akhir-akhir ini memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap peran perpustakaan dalam mengembangakan minat baca masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran perpustakaan UIN Antasari Banjarmasin dalam mengembangkan sikap gemar membaca mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan UIN Antasari memiliki peran aktif dalam mengembangkan sikap gemar membaca mahasiswa, terbukti dari tanggung jawab yang besar terhadap meningkatnya minat baca mahasiswa UIN Antasari. Pustakawan benar-benar menjalankan tugas sebagai pengelola informasi untuk menyediakan informasi yang menarik, bermanfaat, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemustaka sehingga pemustaka menjadi gemar membaca informasi yang ada di perpustakaan. Kata Kunci: Peran, Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi, Gemar Membaca

Abstract

Information has become the main need of people's lives. The search for information related to health has recently become important for life, because with information a person can avoid being exposed to dangerous diseases. The type of research used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and literature study. This study uses the theory of information seeking behavior developed by Wilson in 2000. This study uses several informants who have the following categories; actively use the internet, have children, and search for health-related information. The results of this study indicate that the search for information begins with the need for information so that they can search for information, to reach the stage of using information, housewives seek information from various sources to determine the validity of an information. There are obstacles faced by housewives in the information search process, including not many media used to search for information, so that the information searched shows few references because it is only in one media. So in the process of searching for information, the housewives of Tawangrejo Village already have the ability to select information.

Abstract

The library is an information source institution that can meet the needs of library materials for the community. Different groups of people have different needs for library materials. This study aims to determine the needs of user library materials at the Bung Karno National Library UPT during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of quantitative research uses descriptive research methods. The sampling technique used probability sampling with accidental sampling technique and obtained a sample of 50 respondents. Researchers collect research data through observation, questionnaires and literature study. The results of this study, that the characteristics of users are predominantly female (80%) and study as a student or college students (88%). The users of the Bung Karno National Library UPT used more information that was classified in the general collection. The reason users need information to add insight into new knowledge about a topic. Especially during a pandemic like today, what happens is that a lot of new things are emerging as innovations to keep all activities running. Although technology has developed rapidly, the source of library materials in the form of books is still an idol among the public because they are considered to have accurate information. Meanwhile, the reasons why UPT Bung Karno National Library users need library materials to help fulfill references in completing school and college assignments are 46%. In the condition of this online-based learning system, students are required to seek more independent references to meet their information needs. From the results of the study, it was also found that there were users who still did not know how to use information retrieval tools such as OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) and also available technology. This is an obstacle in the process of meeting the needs of available library materials.

Abstract

ABSTRAK:Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan pengguna terhadap pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya Malang serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Manfaat dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan mengenai pengaruh pendidikan pengguna terhadap pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya Malang sehingga dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam menetapkan kebijakan untuk pengembangan perpustakaan menjadi lebih baik lagi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif yaitu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan maksud untuk menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap variabel terikat. Jumlah sampel 30 orang, menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling dengan alasan populasi dianggap homogen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh peneliti meliputi; observasi, penyebaran kuesinoer, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu editing dan tabulasi. Hasil penelitian dihitung dengan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS version 16 for windows, dan diperoleh hasil yaitu terdapat pengaruh pendidikan pengguna terhadap pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya Malang sebesar 14,9%. Terdapat faktor lain yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya Malang salah satunya adalah karena kebutuhan akan tugas-tugas kuliah. Selain itu kesadaran untuk mendapatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan informasi menjadikan faktor pemanfaatan bahan pustaka. Data collection techniques used by researchers include; observation, distribution of questionnaires, and documentation. The data processing analysis techniques in this research are editing and tabulation. The research results were calculated using the SPSS version 16 for Windows program, and the results obtained were that there was an influence of user education on the use of library materials in the Brawijaya University Malang Library of 14.9%. There are other factors that influence the use of library materials at the Brawijaya University Malang Library, one of which is the need for course assignments. Apart from that, awareness of obtaining knowledge and information is a factor in the use of library materials.
