Abstract

During the Covid 19 pandemic, the teaching and learning process, especially in practical courses which were initially face-to-face, turned online. This change had several impacts on lectures, especially in terms of learning outcomes and the quality of graduates in terms of skills. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out an evaluation of this learning process using the CIPP model developed by Stufflebeam. This evaluation model aims to find out how effective the use of virtual laboratories is in learning practical courses online. This research is evaluative research using a qualitative descriptive approach. Where the data used in this study is qualitative data with analytical methods. The technique used in this study is to examine existing data using grounded research methods. From the results of this study, there is the largest percentage, namely the use of virtual laboratories has been quite effective in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the improvement and development of media and learning models that are more innovative and creative. In addition, efforts in skills that directly deal with equipment still need to be fulfilled in real laboratories to increase enrichment and deeper understanding and skills in work procedures in the world of work later.

Abstract

YouTube serves as a valuable alternative learning platform in education that offers a variety of instructional videos to improve learning outcomes. YouTube positively influences student learning by increasing skills, competence, motivation, and level of engagement in learning. YouTube's diverse content, accessibility, and engaging format make it a rich and enjoyable learning resource, especially when integrated into an excellent pedagogical context. YouTube is also expected to become an alternative learning media in education, especially vocational education and training. Therefore, it is necessary to review journals that discuss YouTube as an alternative learning media for vocational education. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review of journal papers published from 2017-2024. Journal articles came from three database sources, namely Scopus, Google Scholar, and Crossref, with search results of 2,157 journal articles; then, four stages of systematic literature review were carried out, with the final result being 86 research articles from related journals. The findings of this research are as follows: First, YouTube is recognized as an effective medium for learning, providing the ability to adapt, personalize, and develop autonomy and critical thinking. Second, instructional videos mediate vocational skills and facilitate vocational learning, incredibly interactive services. Third, YouTube has proven to be a very effective learning medium for practical competencies, providing a more accessible and more precise understanding of concepts. These conclusions highlight the value and potential of YouTube as a digital resource for continuing education and vocational learning.

Abstract

Sistem keamanan adalah mekanisme yang menghilangkan rasa takut, cemas, dan khawatir terkait dengan meninggalkan barang berharga, sehingga membebaskan seseorang dari segala risiko. Sistem keamanan pengenalan wajah ketika memasuki ruangan yang memiliki nilai berharga dengan adanya pemberitahuan melalui ponsel cerdas. Sehingga ruangan tersebut dapat dimonitoring dengan Internet Of Things (IoT) dengan dikombinasikan dengan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) dan pemberitahuan melalui aplikasi Telegram. Metode yang digunakan dalam melaksanakan bangun sistem keamanan dengan penangkapan gambar adalah metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan model Prototyping. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem keamanan ruangan berbasis Internet Of Things (IoT) dan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dapat dilakukan dengan baik. Akan tetapi, masih ada beberapa perbaikan dan pengembangan supaya perancangan tersebut dapat digunakan atau difungsikan secara maksimal oleh pengguna.

Abstract

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a technology used in aircraft monitoring systems, where aircraft transmit identity, position, speed, and other data via open radio signals. Receiving and decoding ADS-B signals to obtain real-time flight information have been of significant interest in the aviation field. In this study, we propose the implementation of a multi-receiver ADS-B system based on RTL-SDR (Software-Defined Radio) to enhance monitoring coverage and flight data accuracy. RTL-SDR is a cost-effective and versatile platform that uses hardware programmable through software to receive radio signals. To demonstrate the effectiveness and performance of the multi-receiver RTL-SDR-based ADS-B system, a series of experiments will be conducted in different environments, followed by a comparison of results with another platform, namely Flight Radar24. The system's performance will be evaluated, yielding a success rate of 83.8%, accuracy of 76.68%, and equipment sensitivity of 64.17 dBm. Abstract

This study aims to find out how cadets' critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities are affected by problem-based learning methodologies. The methodology for this investigation was quasi-experimental. The population used in this research was taken from second-semester cadets from seven academic programs. The samples used were three classes selected based on random sampling techniques, namely Airport Electrical Engineering (AEE) 48 cadets, Aircraft Engineering (A.E.) 48 cadets, and Airport Civil Engineering (ACE) 48 cadets. The data analysed are descriptive and inferential statistical data, which are analysed using MANOVA. Its findings showed that the implementation of PBL (experimental class) was better than DL (control class) in improving cadet capability, with a significance level of α = 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning approach in improving students' critical thinking and learning outcomes. Critical thinking is a core skill required for effective learning, yet many students struggle to develop this ability. The Cooperative Learning approach has been recognised as effective in improving engagement, collaboration and understanding of concepts in learning. However, research specifically exploring the impact of the Cooperative Learning approach on critical thinking and learning outcomes is limited. This research used a qualitative desk study approach to investigate the role of Cooperative Learning in improving critical thinking and learning outcomes. An in-depth literature review was conducted to gather evidence from various previous studies relevant to this topic. The results showed that the Cooperative Learning approach has a positive impact in improving students' critical thinking. Through collaboration between students, group discussions, and task-based learning experiences, students can significantly develop their critical thinking skills. In addition, the improvement of critical thinking also contributes to the improvement of overall learning outcomes. In conclusion, the Cooperative Learning approach can be an effective strategy in improving students' critical thinking and learning outcomes. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening the Cooperative Learning approach in the context of learning in educational institutions.

Abstract

Rapid advances in wireless communication systems have increased the demand for compact and efficient antennas. This study presents the design and analysis of miniature microstrip antennas intended for applications in L-band frequencies. The antenna structure is based on a rectangular patch with modifications in the form of U-shaped slot (MRDPU) and L- shaped slot (MRDPL) configurations that aim to reduce the size of the antenna without sacrificing performance. The proposed antenna operates in the frequency range of 1,064 GHz to 1,562 GHz, with significant improvements in return loss values, bandwidth, and overall efficiency. Comparative analysis shows that the design with U-shaped slots (MRDPU) provides better miniaturization and performance compared to L-shaped slot designs (MRDPL). The U- shaped slot design achieves a return loss of -11.15 dB at 1.064 GHz, while the L-shaped slot design has a return loss of -10.907 dB at 1.206 GHz. Both configurations offer an effective solution for L-band frequency applications. The study highlights the potential of slot-based modifications in achieving antenna miniaturization without sacrificing important performance parameters.

Abstract

Pendidikan digital telah menjadi salah satu aspek penting dalam sistem pendidikan kontemporer. Artikel ini membahas pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan digital dan fokus pada pemahaman dampaknya pada hasil belajar dan pengalaman siswa. Dalam era digital, adaptasi kurikulum tradisional menjadi kurikulum digital telah menjadi keharusan, dan penelitian ini mencoba menguraikan perubahan-perubahan ini. Studi literatur mendalam mengungkapkan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan digital telah memengaruhi metode pengajaran, materi pembelajaran, dan evaluasi. Hasil belajar siswa dapat dipengaruhi oleh integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran, akses ke sumber daya online, dan gaya pengajaran yang berfokus pada partisipasi aktif siswa. Kurikulum digital dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, memfasilitasi pembelajaran mandiri, dan menyediakan beragam sumber daya pembelajaran. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas pengaruh pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan digital terhadap pengalaman siswa. Integrasi teknologi dapat meningkatkan pengalaman siswa melalui pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, aksesibilitas yang ditingkatkan, dan kolaborasi online. Namun, tantangan seperti kesenjangan akses digital dan perluasan kurikulum untuk mencakup kompetensi digital juga perlu diperhatikan. Kesimpulannya, pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan digital telah mengubah cara kita mendidik dan belajar. Artikel ini merinci dampak positifnya pada hasil belajar dan pengalaman siswa, sambil menyoroti tantangan yang perlu diatasi dalam menerapkan pendidikan digital yang efektif.
