Abstract

The Manuaba Royal Palace is one of the heritage tourist attractions that has cultural heritage, building architecture, and artifact collections with historical value; however, to date, this tourist destination has not been optimal in presenting tourists to be able to visit this region, so a comprehensive and measurable marketing strategy is needed to accelerate its development. This study aimed to analyze marketing strategies for the heritage tourist attraction of the Manuaba Royal Palace in the Kenderan Tourism Village, Bali. A mixed method research design was used by conducting interviews with the managers of as many as 30 Manuaba Royal Palace tourist destinations who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data obtained were analyzed using IFAS, EFAS, and SWOT matrices and are presented descriptively. The results show that the Manuaba Royal Palace has implemented the 7P marketing mix strategy, currently in Quadrant I (a very favorable situation because it has great opportunities to demonstrate internal strength) and S<O (the direction of Manuaba Royal Pae's policy in growth strategy conditions). The current focus and marketing strategy includes developing technology-based historical courses accompanied by the use of social media, presenting information related to intangible cultural heritage, and guiding tourists more massively by providing exclusive packages for booking heritage tourism online. In the future, it is important to maximize the marketing strategies used to increase the number of visits and to be more competitive in the tourism industry.

Abstract

Abstract

The management of tourism villages, particularly in rural areas, remains a challenge and requires comprehensive strategies and policies for their development. Managers’ social capital and financial literacy are important for improving the performance of tourism villages, but related data are still limited. Through a systematic literature review, this study investigates the role of social capital and financial literacy in influencing the performance of tourism villages. The literature search and analysis of the included articles were guided by PRISMA. This study involves original articles discussing the role of social capital and financial literacy, open access, published between 2010 and 2022, indexed in SINTA (Science and Technology Index) and scopus (Quartile Q1-Q4) and in Indonesian or English. This review explored the use of social model concepts and financial literacy in tourism villages, the methodology used, and the main findings. The results show that social capital and financial literacy significantly affect the performance of tourism villages. The synergy between social capital mechanisms and financial literacy can create a conducive environment for tourism development and success in villages. Social capital plays a role in building trust and sustainable cooperation between tourism sectors, social connections in facilitating the exchange of tourism information and resources, and increasing community capacity and involvement in tourism implementation. Financial literacy plays a role in equipping tourism village managers with efficient financial management, developing tourism-based entrepreneurship, and ensuring inclusiveness and sustainability. Tourism villages are characterized by their growth, development, and performance. The implication of this study is that social capital and financial literacy directly and indirectly improve the performance of tourism villages.

Abstract

The development of religious tourism is used as an alternative to tourism development in the new normal era, including Kenderan Tourism Village. However, various technical problems still need to be solved in its operations and development efforts. This study aims to identify the potential and formulate a strategy for developing Pengelukatan Telaga Waja as a religious tourism attraction in Kenderan Tourism Village, Tegalalang, Gianyar. A type of qualitative descriptive research that identifies the potential and strategy of developing vehicle tourism villages as religious tourism by conducting observations and structured interviews on three informants selected by purposive sampling and meeting inclusion criteria. All results are interpreted using tourism area life cycle theory. As a result, the Pengelukatan Telaga Waja could be a religious tourism attraction in Kenderan Tourism Village, Gianyar District. The potential of the village with good natural resources and prioritizing elements of the sacred language, spirituality, and religion based on Balinese local wisdom makes Pengelukatan telaga waja favored by tourists. The results of the 4A analysis show that Pengelukatan Telaga Waja meets the attractive aspect (natural nuances that provide a sense of sacred mystique and still prioritize the religious side), amenities (there are facilities for post melukat meditation at Pancoran Solas), accessibility (road access to the Pengelukatan Telaga Waja site is quite good), and ancillary (the management of this Pengelukatan Telaga Waja place already has a management institution by Puri Figures). SWOT analysis shows that the Pengelukatan Telaga Waja meets all the criteria of a good SWOT as a religious tourism attraction in Kenderan Tourism Village, and improving the image of the area is the main development strategy.
