Abstract

The synthesis of magnetite (Fe3O4) microparticles has been successfully carried out using rust and leaf extract of grass (Imperata cylindrica L). The purpose of this research is the synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4 microparticles using the Green Synthesis method. The UV-Vis results showed that the absorption peak was at a wavelength of 273 nm with an absorbance value of 0.75. FTIR analysis shows the shift of the peak at wave number 3356 cm-1 to 3290 cm-1 and the appearance of a new peak at wave number 500 cm-1 which is characteristic of the Fe-O-Fe functional group and indicates the formation of Fe3O4 microparticles. XRD results showed six specific peaks, which were crystallinity of Fe3O4 microparticles at position 2 theta 30.40 °, 35.70 °, 43.30 °, 53.80 °, 57.40 °, and 63.00 °. PSA analysis showed that the mean particle size was > 100 nm, and the PZC results showed a zeta potential of 20 mV. SEM results showed the morphology of Fe3O4 microparticles with 1000x magnification, and EDS analysis results showed Fe and O's elemental composition.

Abstract

The Research and Development method was used in this study. Limited testing of product will done at one high school in North Lampung. The purpose of this research were has (1) develop student worksheets based on scientific approach on thermochemical, (2) describe characteristic of the student worksheets that developed, (3) describe teacher response of the student worksheets that developed, and (4) describe students response of the student worksheets that developed. Based on the limited testing result , the percentage of teacher response in suitability content, construction, readability, and attractiveness were 100%; 93,75%; 100%; and 100%, respectively. The results of students responses to the readability and attractiveness were also very high, with the percentage until 98,94% and 97,85%, respectively.Metode penelitian dan pengembangan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Uji coba secara terbatas produk akan dilakasanakan pada salah satu sekolah di Lampung Utara. Ada empat tujuan dalam penelitian ini (1) mengembangkan LKS berbasis pendekatan saintifik pada materi termokimia, (2) mendeskripsikan karakteristik LKS yang dikembangkan, (3) mendeskripsikan respon guru terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan, dan (4) mendeskripsikan respon siswa terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba terbatas terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan, persentase respon guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi, kontruksi, keterbacaan dan kemenarikan masing-masing adalah 100%; 93,75%; 100%; dan 100%. Hasil respon siswa pada aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan juga sangat tinggi, dengan persentase masing-masing mencapai 84,87% dan 86,90%.Kata kunci: lembar kerja siswa, pendekatan saintifik, termokimia

Abstract

Chitosan in Penaeus monodon is a chitin compound removed from the acetyl group leaving a polysaccharide amine group and is polycationic through the chitin deoxidation process. The purpose of this study was to identify the potential use of chitosan adsorbent from Penaeus monodon (Chi-ShSW) on decreasing levels of copper (Cu) in electroplating industrial wastewater and to analyze the effect of variations in flow rate using chitosan adsorbents on reducing levels of copper (Cu) in electroplating industrial sewage. Chi-ShSW can be an adsorbent to reduce Cu (II) metal ions in the Metal Coating Industry wastewater. The adsorption test was carried out with a continuous flow system with different debits. The highest reduction in Cu waste in the study occurred at a flow rate of 215 ml/minute with a time of 84 minutes with a Cu content in the Metal Coating Industry wastewater of 1.227 mg/l and a reduction efficiency of 75.86%. The utilization of chitosan from Penaeus monodon was successfully synthesized as an adsorbent for the wastewater treatment of the metal coating industry. It can be concluded that Penaeus monodon can be used as an adsorbent to degrade Cu(II) metal ions contained in electroplating wastewater.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan yang meningkat memiliki dampak terhadap lingkungan. Salah satunya adalah sampah tidak terkelola dengan baik dan mencemari lingkungan sekitar. Menurut Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2008 sampah adalah sisa kegiatan sehari-hari manusia dan/atau proses alam yang berbentuk padat. Pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan 1 kelurahan Sukaraja belum terlaksana dengan baik sehingga terdapat sampah yang berserakan di beberapa wilayah. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pengelolaan sampah menjadi salah satu penyebabnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa kondisi eksisting dan menyusun strategi pengelolaan sampah serta merancang alternatif pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari analisis akar masalah menggunakan analisis fishbone, kemudian dilakukan penyusunan strategi dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, dan Threats) dan pemilihan alternatif pengolahan. Analisis SWOT digunakan untuk menyusun strategi yang sesuai dengan kondisi permasalahan sampah di wilayah studi kasus kelurahan Sukaraja. Penentuan faktor strategi diperlukan untuk menentukan strategi yang direkomendasikan pada penelitian.  Analisis kondisi eksisting pengelolaan sampah pada penelitian ini terdiri dari aspek pembiayaan dan retribusi, aspek peran serta masyarakat dan aspek pengolahan dengan penilaian rata-rata 38,6% kategori buruk. Strategi yang dihasilkan berada pada kuadran III (weakness-opportunity) yaitu dengan menggunakan peran stakeholder atau suatu lembaga untuk melakukan sosialisasi terkait pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan sampah sehingga dapat mengubah persepsi dan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap sampah dan dapat memanfaatkannya untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi dan pendapatan masyarakat. Berdasarkan analisis maka diperoleh pemilihan alternatif didasarkan pada faktor kelemahan dan peluang yang ada serta kelebihan dan kekurangan dari alternatif yang akan digunakan. Alternatif yang akan disosialisasikan adalah menggunakan tong komposter dengan luas kebutuhan lahan yaitu 28,32 m2.

Abstract

Ilalang (Imperata cylindrica L) merupakan tumbuhan liar yang jarang dimanfaatkan. Daun ilalang mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti alkaloid dan flavonoid. Senyawa flavonoid dapat digunakan sebagai zat reduktor alami dalam sintesis nanopartikel perak (AgNPs). Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah sintesis nanopartikel perak menggunakan bioreduktor alami dari ekstrak daun ilalang. Sintesis nanopartikel perak menggunakan metode green synthesis (reduktor alam). Terbentuknya koloid nanopartikel perak terlihat secara visual ditandai dengan perubahan warna koloid menjadi coklat setelah penambahan ekstrak daun ilalang. Hasil UV-Vis menunjukkan nanopartikel perak memiliki puncak serapan pada panjang gelombang 420 nm dengan nilai absorbansi 1,9. FTIR memperlihatkan spektrum pengurangan puncak serapan nanopartikel perak pada bilangan gelombang 3356 cm-1. Hasil XRD dan PSA menunjukkan nanopartikel perak memiliki rata-rata ukuran kristal 19 nm dan distribusi ukuran partikel sebesar 1160 nm. Abstract

Hand sanitizers, handsoaps, and disinfectants (H2D) have become necessities in a new normal during the Covid-19 pandemic. These three items are necessary to use in daily activities to prevent the spread of Covid-19. One of the efforts to successfully adopt a new normal is to educate the youth on preventing the spread of Covid-19. Workshop and education on making simple H2D at SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi have been held through outreach activities and hands-on practice. The goal of this activity is to increase the students knowledge of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi in living a new lifestyle to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in North Lampung Regency. The result of this educational program is an increase in the knowledge of students of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi about H2D in terms of composition, making, and use. Besides, through the workshop program, students of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi also acquire skills in making simple H2D. Through presentation and direct practice, students of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi have been educated to become new lifestyle agents to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in North Lampung Regency.

Abstract

The availability of clean water plays a significant role in fulfilling the need for drinking water and sanitation, which are absolute necessities in human life. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to reduce the proportion of the population without access to safe and sustainable drinking water and basic facilities by half. Access to clean water and sanitation facilities is still tricky in some areas, triggering the implementation of the PAMSIMAS Program. Community involvement is critical to the program's sustainability. This study analyzes the forms and factors supporting and hindering community participation in the PAMSIMAS Program and the environmental benefits of areas that receive the program in Rantau Jaya Ilir village. Central Lampung Regency. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, incorporating a SWOT analysis. Planning for community participation in the PAMSIMAS Program is underway. The study shows that community participation can adequately manage the program and meet water needs. Age, gender, level of education, type of work, income, and knowledge are all internal factors. Government policies and regulations play a crucial role as external factors. Based on the research, stakeholders were told to invite the community to each socialization meeting and give suggestions. This way of developing the PAMSIMAS Program community empowerment can be copied and used to create infrastructure development programs in other places. This will help the regional government even more, and the government program for drinking water infrastructure and sanitation is expected to continue and be sustainable so that the infrastructure is kept up and working.
