This study was motivated by the importance of positive character building in elementary school students for community development, but initial observations in grade 4 of Muhammadiyah Gilipanda Elementary School, Bima City showed that many students (8 out of 24) still showed negative characters such as lack of discipline and responsibility. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the social collaboration model in building positive character in students, as well as identifying obstacles faced by teachers. The focus of the problem is how the implementation of a social collaboration-based learning model can shape positive character and what obstacles are faced by teachers. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach for one month at Muhammadiyah Gilipanda Elementary School, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that before the implementation of the model, most students lacked a sense of responsibility. The implementation of the social collaboration model, which involves group learning, parental and community involvement, and discussion forums to train cooperation, has been proven to be used to build positive character. It was concluded that the social collaboration model is effective in improving social skills, fostering positive characters such as cooperation and respecting differences, and has the potential to improve students' academic achievement. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pembentukan karakter positif pada siswa sekolah dasar untuk pembangunan masyarakat, namun observasi awal di kelas 4 SD Muhammadiyah Gilipanda Kota Bima menunjukkan banyak siswa (8 dari 24) masih menunjukkan karakter negatif seperti kurang disiplin dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model kolaborasi sosial dalam membangun karakter positif siswa, serta mengidentifikasi kendala yang dihadapi guru. Fokus masalahnya adalah bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis kolaborasi sosial dapat membentuk karakter positif dan apa saja kendala yang dihadapi guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif selama satu bulan di SD Muhammadiyah Gilipanda, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum penerapan model, sebagian besar siswa kurang memiliki rasa tanggung jawab. Penerapan model kolaborasi sosial, yang melibatkan belajar kelompok, keterlibatan orang tua dan komunitas, serta forum diskusi untuk melatih kerja sama, terbukti dapat digunakan untuk membangun karakter positif. Disimpulkan bahwa model kolaborasi sosial efektif meningkatkan kemampuan sosial, menumbuhkan karakter positif seperti kerja sama dan menghargai perbedaan, serta berpotensi meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa.
