Abstract

The aim of the community service is to provide training for starter breeding and making nata de coco. This activity is expected to provide motivation for entrepreneurship in the field of nata de coco for the Gandus community. The result of making nata de coco training, knowledge of participants including benefits and how to manufacture increased to 80-90%. Competence before practice was only around 20% and increased significantly after practice to 80%. The benefits of training and the suitability of the material provided and the video presented got a good response (85-90%). The residents' desire to retry nata de coco making and entrepreneurship was only around 60-75% of the total attendees. In the future, further training is needed such as Nata de coco production techniques, entrepreneurship training, and programmed and sustainable marketing and production management training.

Abstract

COMPARISON OF RUBBER MILLING PROCESS TO PRODUCE NATURAL RUBBER COMPOUNDS USING MODIFIED AND UNMODIFIED LOCAL CLAY FILLER. Many researchers have studied the effect of modified clay as filler on rubber compounds for both natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Various chemicals are used as clay modifiers. In the rubber milling process, modified clay is directly used as filler after pretreatment with clay modifier. However, clay modifiers can also be milled together with original clay during the rubber mastication and milling process. Thus both of these methods certainly produce different physical properties, so the comparison of the two rubber milling processes is the focus of this research. The analysis of the curing characteristics and physical properties of vulcanized natural rubber was carried out with a rheometer and physical properties test units. Thermal analysis was carried out using TG/DTA and dispersion of filler on the rubber compound was analyzed by SEM. The results of the curing characteristic of the rubber compound and the physical properties of vulcanization showed that there was an effect due to the comparison of the rubber milling process. Modified clay using JH-S69 is better than JH-S69 milled with original clay and vice versa occurs in PEG 4000 which is used as clay modifier. PEG 4000 which is milled together with original clay produces curing characteristic and physical properties of vulcanization better than pretreatment of clay to be modified clay. This analysis is in line with the analysis using SEM.

Abstract

Biodiesel adalah salah satu bahan bakar alternatif terbarukan yang dapat menggantikan solar. Bahan baku yang digunakan berasal dari minyak nabati atau hewani, diolah melalui proses fisika dan kimia dengan komposisi yang tepat, sehingga menghasilkan bahan bakar yang ramah lingkungan, khususnya menggunakan minyak kelapa sawit yang dikenal sebagai Crude Palm Oil (CPO). Proses sintesis biodiesel melibatkan dua tahap reaksi: pertama, esterifikasi untuk mengurangi Free Fatty Acid (Asam Lemak Bebas) menggunakan asam sulfat, dan kedua, transesterifikasi untuk membentuk biodiesel dengan alkohol dan katalis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memproduksi biodiesel dari CPO menggunakan katalis enzim lipase yang diimobilisasi menggunakan resin kation dengan variasi katalis (1,5%-3,5%) dan melihat pengaruh waktu reaksi (6, 12, dan 18 jam), dan kecepatan pengadukan 350 rpm dalam stirred tank reactor. Yield tertinggi mencapai 89,8%, angka saponifikasi 112,21 mg KOH/g, angka iodin 71 g I2/100 g, angka setana tertinggi 80, dan kadar titik nyala 109o C. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa waktu reaksi dan konsentrasi katalis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas biodiesel yang dihasilkan, dengan biodiesel memenuhi Standar kualitas nasional. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan teknologi biodiesel yang ramah lingkungan dan dapat diperbarui di Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service program empowered the Kemuning Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Prabumulih through a Business Feasibility Study Workshop to address managerial challenges and enhance business sustainability. A participatory approach was applied to build technical capacity in five areas: (1) basic financial management, (2) digital marketing strategies using WhatsApp, (3) optimizing limited land production through recycled hydroponics and tiered polybag cultivation, (4) human resource management based on skill mapping, and (5) structured risk mitigation. Collaboration among PT Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field, Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, and the local government was key to success. Outputs included operational documents and behavioral changes in business management. Evaluation showed improved KWT capacity in financial feasibility, production efficiency, and risk readiness, transforming the business model from subsistence to sustainable women’s agripreneurship.

Abstract

Dedak padi merupakan limbah hasil dari proses penggilingan padi dan penyosohan beras yang dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak. Kandungan selulosa yang cukup tinggi menjadikan dedak padi berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi produk bernilai tambah, seperti bioplastik, bioetanol, dan biobriket. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi kepada Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Bougenville di Prabumulih Barat sebagai upaya awal dalam mengenalkan diversifikasi pemanfaatan limbah dedak padi. Selama kegiatan berlangsung, peserta menunjukkan respon positif, yang ditunjukkan melalui antusiasme dalam diskusi serta keterlibatan aktif pada sesi tanya jawab. Hasil evaluasi juga memperlihatkan terjadinya proses transfer pengetahuan antara tim pelaksana dan peserta, sehingga diharapkan dapat mendorong peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan masyarakat untuk mengolah limbah pertanian menjadi hasil olahan yang memiliki fungsi praktis dan potensi keuntungan.
