Abstract

Modul akuisisi data dengan menggunakan Modbus Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) telah banyak digunakan secara komersial di industri. Namun sayangnya, harga peralatan tersebut tergolong mahal. Protokol komunikasi Modbus RTU ini cukup kompleks untuk dibuat oleh pengguna awam, seperti siswa sekolah menengah vokasi dan mahasiswa. Dengan latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat modul komunikasi Modbus RTU over RS485 yang berbasiskan Arduino sehingga harga pembuatannya menjadi murah dan dapat menjadi sarana pembelajaran di sekolah menengah maupun universitas. Modul yang dibuat ini terdiri atas dua input analog dan dua input/output digital. Sinyal analog yang masuk dikondisikan terlebih dahulu dengan menggunakan signal conditioner sebelum diproses lebih lanjut oleh mikrokontroler. Hasil pengujian menggunakan Modbus Analyzer menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi Modbus RTU over RS485 pada modul yang telah dibuat ini berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

Agar dapat membantu pekerjaan dalam sistem pembuatan peta pada suatu ruangan yang memiliki tingkat bahaya yang tinggi, dibutuhkan sebuah robot yang dapat mengganti proses pembuatan peta. Sehingga robot tesebut harus memiliki sistem pemetaan 2D yang baik, agar dapat menggambarkan bentuk peta yang benar. Area berbentuk kotak dengan ukuran 2,44 m x 1,6 m dilengkapi adanya labirin di dalamnya dipilih sebagai area penelitian. Permasalahan yang muncul adalah bagaimana cara mengukur sekeliling ruangan dan membentuk gambar peta ruangan yang diukur. Pada penilitian ini akan dikembangkan sistem pemetaan ruangan dengan menggunakan sensor lidar yang mampu melakukan pengukuran ruangan dengan jarak ukur panjang maksimal 6 m dan dapat berputar 360o. Pada penelitian ini terdapat mobile robot yang berfungsi untuk membawa sensor lidar yang memiliki navigasi untuk menelusuri ruangan, sehingga sistem pemetaan ruangan pada penelitian ini mampu menggambarkan peta ruangan secara keseluruhan. Untuk input pembuatan peta didapat dari hasil proses sensor lidar berupa nilai jarak dan sudut. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menghasilkan sistem pemetaan 2 dimensi secara langsung di komputer dengan ukuran peta terhadap objek sebenarnya. Setelah penelitian dilakukan, hasil pemetaan dari software yang dibuat telah memiliki kesamaan bentuk dengan lapangan yang sebenarnya. Terdapat rata rata error pengukuran dengan menggunakan sensor LIDAR sebesar 0,87%.

Abstract

Washing hands is something that is always urged to be done lately. This pandemic makes washing hands a habit that must be accomplished before and after doing activities. Automatic hand washing is one way to reduce the spread of the virus because it can be used without having to touch the device directly. The development of automatic tools for washing hands is the crucial need for an alternative power source that is fuel-efficient and uncomplicated in terms of maintenance. The eco-friendly electrical source is needed to be implemented to reduce the electricity bills such as using the solar panel as the alternative power source. As an effort to support handwashing activities, the procurement of solar panels as a source of electrical energy is expected to be able to provide simple solutions to prevent the spread of Covid -19 and to make the environment clean and energy-efficient.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic requires elementary and junior high school students to do online learning activities at home. In practice, children interact more often with their gadget during online school hours and outside these hours. Its a concern for most Graha Nusa Batam community residents because the children there are already starting to have symptoms of gadget addiction. Against this background, Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) held a robotics technology workshop program for children aged 8-15 years. This activity aims to increase children's understanding of robotics technology, which includes electronics and mechanics. In addition, this activity provides several benefits, namely: being an attractive alternative for children to reduce playing with their gadgets; provide children's experiences in problem solving, creativity and collaboration; and include field experience for Polibatam students by applying the knowledge gained through Project Based Learning (PBL) for the benefit of the community.This workshop held four meetings (March to April 2021) at the At-Taqwa Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) building, Graha Nusa Batam housing. The robot used is an analog line follower. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to measure the increase in participants' understanding of the material. This test shows that participants' knowledge of robotics technology can increase up to 25% for participants aged 8-11 years and 22% for 12-15 years.

Abstract

Memproduksi sensor NTC melewati proses electrostatic coating / pelapisan NTC menggunakan bubuk. Sebelum memasuki proses electrostatic coating, NTC diletakkan pada strip (besi berbahan stainless) dan direkatkan menggunakan isolasi agar NTC tidak terjatuh. Kemudian NTC akan melewati beberapa proses sampai dengan proses untapping. Proses untapping bertujuan melepaskan isolasi dari NTC. Saat isolasi dilepas dari NTC, lem bekas isolasi menempel pada strip. Untuk memulai kembali ke proses awal dibutuhkan strip yang bersih, sehingga manpower harus melakukan pembersihan strip secara manual. Oleh karena itu dilakukan sebuah inovasi dengan membuat mesin untuk mengubah proses pembersihan strip dari manual ke semi otomatis. Peneltian ini ditujukan pada proses brushing station untuk mendapatkan parameter yang bagus guna menghasilkan strip yang bersih. Menggunakan metode Design of Experiment untuk mendapatkan parameter yang menjadi ketetapan prosedur di brushing station. Dari hasil pengujian didapat nilai parameter pada penekanan brush 3.6 mm dengan kecepatan motor 5000 Rpm dapat menghasilkan strip yang bersih.

Abstract

Conducting robotics training as a community service to improve basic knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students is one of the ways to improve their basic knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students is one of the most important aspects of the facing the industrial era 4.0 and society 5.0. Through the Service-Learning approach, this community service by collaborating with Granada International in Batam by involving 29 students, consisting of 7 students from class X, 15 students from class XI, and the rest from class XII, class XI students, and the rest from class XII. The results of mentoring through robotics training were able to increase the average STEM skills of students by 38.15%. In addition, the activity was successfully implemented with participant satisfaction levels above 50% for the subject matter, instructor, and training equipment. Only 17% of the trainees stated that the training time was insufficient, especially for practicum.

Abstract

Ship transportation is the primary mode of trade and transportation at sea in the maritime industry. Initially, humans employed ships as a method of pursuing and capturing fish or animals in aquatic environments. As the ship era progresses, it actively engages in all aspects pertaining to ships. Presently, the ship is propelled by its engine, which is a significant improvement over its initial reliance on wood or oars. In addition to engines, propellers are employed to transform the rotational motion of the engine into propulsive force in the marine environment. Propellers are also present on aircraft, serving the same purpose but positioned at various locations in the air. A thruster is a hybrid device that combines an engine and a propeller. This sort of thruster is specifically designed for use on tiny boats or prototypes, for the purpose of simulating, exhibiting, or participating in contests. ESC is a component that facilitates the alteration of the input value to the intended velocity. In addition to their primary function of fulfilling food requirements, ships are presently employed in diverse capacities, including military vessels, tourist vessels, submarines, passenger ships, and more.

Abstract

This paper discusses the application of visual servoing on a 6 DOF robotic manipulator for industrial automation. With visual feedback, the manipulator can perform pick and place operations accurately and efficiently. We explore feature- and model-based visual servoing methods and object detection techniques, including deep learning algorithms. The experimental results show that the integration of visual servoing with pick and place method as well as object detection improves the performance of manipulators in industry. This research contributes to the understanding of visual servoing technology in industrial automation. The conclusion shows that the manipulator is more precise in controlling the X-axis shift in the first two experiments, but faces challenges in the third experiment. The success of the system is affected by environmental factors such as lighting. For further development, research is recommended to improve robustness to environmental variations as well as evaluation of execution speed and object positioning accuracy.

Abstract

This article reviews an autonomous mobile robot with mecanum wheels using localization and mapping with Lidar. The mecanum wheeled robot is capable of autonomously moving from point A to point B. This study aims to determine the level of accuracy and precision in mapping to ensure the robot can operate efficiently, as well as to develop the ability to perform real-time environmental mapping using data obtained from the Lidar A2M12 sensor. It also aims to implement the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithm to simultaneously determine the robot's position and orientation while mapping. For independent movement, the robot must be aware of its surroundings and its position within that environment. The method used is simultaneous localization and mapping using the RPLidar A2M12 sensor and ROS (Robot Operating System). Based on the testing results, the gmapping SLAM error rate is 3.34%, with a sensor distance and angle measurement error of 1.16%. Overall, this autonomous robot can be used even in open areas and with simple obstacles.

Abstract

This study designs a 3-axis UAV gimbal rig for testing stability and performance before deployment in real-world flight conditions. The gimbal rig simulates the vertical, lateral, and longitudinal axes to ensure reliable operation in various scenarios. Made from lightweight aluminum alloy, the structure minimizes vibrations and maintains rigidity during testing. For precise motion tracking, each axis is equipped with an LPD3806- 600BM-G5 rotary encoder, offering accurate feedback on movement. The Arduino Nano processes the encoder data, displaying real-time results on a 16x2 LCD with an I2C interface for easy monitoring. Additionally, a push-button system enables users to switch between different readings for each axis. This setup aids researchers in analyzing UAV dynamics and refining both firmware and hardware. Future enhancements may include wireless data logging and integration of machine learning techniques to predict maintenance needs, further supporting UAV stability testing in various applications, including aerospace, defense, and commercial use.
