Abstract

Minyak goreng yang tersimpan dalam jumlah banyak pada gorengan akan meningkatkan risiko masalah kesehatan sehingga diperlukan teknik untuk mengeluarkan minyak goreng yang berlebihan pada gorengan. Teknik yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan penirisan manual dan dengan menggunakan mesin peniris otomatis. Penggunaan dua teknik tersebut akan dianalisis melalui penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas persiapan gorengan yang akan digunakan, persiapan peniris gorengan, pengujian sistem dan penimbangan massa gorengan. Dengan membandingkan bakwan, tahu dan tempe, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa jenis gorengan yang memiliki persentase penurunan massa tertinggi dimiliki oleh gorengan bakwan dengan nilai persentase sekitar 10%. Jenis kecepatan mesin high speed memberikan persentase penurunan massa paling tinggi untuk semua jenis kecepatan dengan nilai persentase penurunan massa sekitar 10%. Setelah proses penirisan, semua jenis gorengan memiliki kualitas yang baik karena tidak mengalami kerusakan, baik berupa sobek, patah, maupun pecah.

Abstract

Kekasaran permukaan logam merupakan salah satu parameter yang dapat dijadikan acuan dalam penilaian mutu suatu logam. Nilai kekasaran permukaan suatu bahan logam dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan matematik dan pengukuran. Pada penelitian ini, kajian mengenai kekasaran permukaan suatu logam dilakukan dengan menggunakan pengukuran langsung dan menggunakan analisis citra gambar. Adapun teknik pengukuran langsung dilakukan dengan menggunakan Surftest pada 20 titik (5 titik dari diagonal sisi kanan, 5 titik diagonal sisi kiri, 5 titik vertikal dan 5 titik horizontal) sedangkan analisis citra gambar dilakukan dengan menggunakan Image-J pada foto gambar permukaan besi. Berdasarkan metode penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh kesimpulan yaitu semakin besar nilai grit abrasive paper yang digunakan pada permukaan besi, maka nilai kekasaran permukaan besi semakin kecil/semakin halus (nilai kekasaran permukaan cenderung menurun). Sedangkan hasil pengolahan citra gambar yang dilakukan dengan Image-J telah berhasil menunjukan surface plot permukaan sampel besi. Selain dari itu, gray value dari citra gambar yang dihasilkan mengalami fluktuasi seiring dengan semakin panjang/besarnya distance (pixels).

Abstract

Inspeksi label produk menjadi bagian penting dalam pengawasan fabrikasi dan kendali kualitas hasil produksi di industri. Beberapa industri masih menerapkan pemeriksaan label produk secara visual-manual oleh operator. Cara ini memiliki keterbatasan dan cenderung tidak cukup efektif. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem inspeksi kualitas pelabelan produk secara otomatis menggunakan penggabungan metode golden template comparison berdasarkan analisis pixel matching dan konveyor pemilah. Perangkat konveyor pemilah mampu memindahkan produk ke proses deteksi dua sisi label dan memilah produk secara otomatis berdasarkan hasil inspeksi produk. Penggunaan golden template comparison ini efektif membandingkan intensitas pixel dari objek yang diperiksa dengan golden template yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sistem ini berhasil menganalisa produk yang pass dan fail berdasarkan perhitungan total defect area kedua sisi front dan back pada label produk sesuai standar acuan klasifikasi cacat yang ditentukan.

Abstract

Washing hands is something that is always urged to be done lately. This pandemic makes washing hands a habit that must be accomplished before and after doing activities. Automatic hand washing is one way to reduce the spread of the virus because it can be used without having to touch the device directly. The development of automatic tools for washing hands is the crucial need for an alternative power source that is fuel-efficient and uncomplicated in terms of maintenance. The eco-friendly electrical source is needed to be implemented to reduce the electricity bills such as using the solar panel as the alternative power source. As an effort to support handwashing activities, the procurement of solar panels as a source of electrical energy is expected to be able to provide simple solutions to prevent the spread of Covid -19 and to make the environment clean and energy-efficient.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic requires elementary and junior high school students to do online learning activities at home. In practice, children interact more often with their gadget during online school hours and outside these hours. Its a concern for most Graha Nusa Batam community residents because the children there are already starting to have symptoms of gadget addiction. Against this background, Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) held a robotics technology workshop program for children aged 8-15 years. This activity aims to increase children's understanding of robotics technology, which includes electronics and mechanics. In addition, this activity provides several benefits, namely: being an attractive alternative for children to reduce playing with their gadgets; provide children's experiences in problem solving, creativity and collaboration; and include field experience for Polibatam students by applying the knowledge gained through Project Based Learning (PBL) for the benefit of the community.This workshop held four meetings (March to April 2021) at the At-Taqwa Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) building, Graha Nusa Batam housing. The robot used is an analog line follower. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to measure the increase in participants' understanding of the material. This test shows that participants' knowledge of robotics technology can increase up to 25% for participants aged 8-11 years and 22% for 12-15 years.

Abstract

PCB (printed circuit board) is a copper-coated board that is a container for electronic components arranged to form electronic circuits. Copper surfaces that are easy to oxidize (corrosion) need to be soothed with a layer of Sn (tin). Based on the TFME study case, the electroplating technique requires more cost for tin plating. The immersion process of the tin plating model is superior in terms of cost and quality. To determine the right combination parameters so as to obtain a thickness that is in accordance with the IPC-4554 standard, namely a minimum of 1000 nm, the research method used is Design of Experiments (DoE). There are nine experimental combinations of the DoE results. Combination parameter testing is done using a SEM (scanning electron microscope) machine. The combination of four to nine has met IPC standards with a thickness of between 1040-1540 nm. The correct parameter is obtained by the combination of 5 with the parameter temperature of 700 and time of 60 minutes, and the result is an average thickness of 1.2 µm and has an uncertain value of the measurement is 7.

Abstract

Conducting robotics training as a community service to improve basic knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students is one of the ways to improve their basic knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students is one of the most important aspects of the facing the industrial era 4.0 and society 5.0. Through the Service-Learning approach, this community service by collaborating with Granada International in Batam by involving 29 students, consisting of 7 students from class X, 15 students from class XI, and the rest from class XII, class XI students, and the rest from class XII. The results of mentoring through robotics training were able to increase the average STEM skills of students by 38.15%. In addition, the activity was successfully implemented with participant satisfaction levels above 50% for the subject matter, instructor, and training equipment. Only 17% of the trainees stated that the training time was insufficient, especially for practicum.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the picking parameters of 32-pin Quad Flat Package (QFP) IC components on the SM421 pick-and-place machine operating at the Teaching Factory for Electronics Manufac-turing (TFME) of Batam State Polytechnic. Currently, the machine has not been optimized, so users must manually adjust the compo-nent dimensions and parameter settings before operation. This re-sults in significant setup time and reduces process efficiency. The method used in this study is Design of Experiments (DOE) to sys-tematically evaluate various parameter settings. The experimental results show that certain configurations can reduce setup time and improve component placement accuracy. These findings contribute significantly to improving machine performance and operational ef-ficiency in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly process. In conclusion, optimizing the 32-pin IC picking parameters on the SM421 machine can improve the productivity and effectiveness of the assembly process.

Abstract

The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry increasingly relies on automation and digitalization to improve efficiency and accuracy in production and distribution processes. One common practice is the use of labels containing product information in the form of barcodes or QR codes, which allow automatic data input and reduce the risk of human error compared to manual writing. However, in current practices, these labels are only attached to PCBs after they have been placed inside casings. This creates a significant limitation, as access to the label information requires disassembling the casing whenever product verification, tracking, or troubleshooting is needed. Such a process not only consumes additional time and resources but also increases the risk of damaging the product. To overcome this challenge, this study proposes the development of a traceability system designed to accurately monitor the location, identity, and status of PCBs throughout the distribution process. The system was implemented as a web-based application capable of generating and printing product information labels in the form of barcodes and QR codes. Each label functions as a unique identifier, ensuring that every PCB can be distinctly tracked from production to final product assembly. All data associated with the labels is automatically stored in a centralized database, providing real-time accessibility, simplifying information management, and enabling faster decision-making in the event of quality control issues. System evaluation was carried out through rigorous testing, which showed a 100% success rate in generating, storing, and retrieving product information without errors. The findings indicate that the proposed traceability system is both effective and efficient, and it offers a practical solution for industries seeking to enhance supply chain visibility, improve product accountability, and reduce operational inefficiencies in PCB distribution and lifecycle management.

Abstract

Long Rang Access (LoRa) merupakan bagian dari teknologi Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) yang banyak digunakan karena memiliki karakteristik berdaya rendah dan dapat menjangkau area yang jauh secara nirkabel. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan penerapan komunikasi nirkael LoRa pada sistem pencatat kehadiran portabel yang dapat digunakan dosen dan dan karyawan serta mahasiswa dalam merekam presensi saat beraktifitas di luar ruangan. Setelah dilakukan instalasi dan konfigurasi, dilakukan pongujian baik di dalam maupun di luar area kampus Politeknik Negeri Batam. Terdapat sembilan titik lokasi pengujian di dalam area kampus dan delapan titik lokasi pengujian di luar area kampus. Dengan menggunakan LoRa yang bekerja pada frekuensi 915 MHz, set SF=7 dan BW=125 KHz, didapatkan jangkauan terjauh hingga 456,01 meter. Keberhasilan penerimaan data dipengaruhi oleh jarak; banyak rintangan seperti beton, kaca, pepohonan dan gedung-gedung tinggi disekitar titi pengujian; frekuensi; dan bentuk antenna. Secara umum, komunikasi nirkabel LoRa dapat diterapkan pada sistem pencatat kehadiran portabel, namum masih terdapat ruang untuk pengembangan kedepannya terutama pada optimalisasi area jangkauan.
