Abstract

Collaboration between academics, educators, students, village civil servants, and the community is needed to implement Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. It is related to clean water and sanitation in the context of training vocational teachers and students to provide it to the community. First, measurements were made of the water quality around the research area. Sixty-three water samples were drawn from each resident's home's water supply. A multi-parameter water quality checker was used to evaluate the samples, and then spatial data processing was used. A temperature of 24.1 C, turbidity of 0.4 NTU, conductivity of 0.4 mS/cm, pH 7.1, salinity of 0.2 ppt, DO of 5.9 mg/l, and TDS value of 267 mg/l were measured. These average results indicate that the water quality satisfies both Indonesian National Standard 3553:2015 and the water quality criteria set by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 2 Year 2023. However, the results of tracking every sampling location show that several samples fall short of water quality requirements because of the high mineral content, weather, and other factors. Every school and community organization needs to run scenarios to raise awareness about water quality standards involving the government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to implement SDGs 6, such as stakeholder engagement, community enhancement, and policy and regulation.

Abstract

It is feared that the natural growth of sago is unable to keep up with the high intensity of logging. Therefore, sago forest stands need to be managed properly and planned by organizing effective and efficient harvesting to minimize damage to live stands. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of logging on the damage of live stands. This research was conducted in Maluku Province, during October - December 2022. Data were collected by observing logging activities, measuring trees and making measuring plots with a size of 20 m x 20 m to measure damage to live stands. The results showed that the level of damage to live stands in the conventional logging system was higher at 31.82% when compared to controlled logging with a value of 12.42%. The productivity of controlled logging was higher than conventional logging. The level of damage to live stands and logging productivity in sago stands is highly dependent on the logging system carried out. Key words:sago, harvesting, stand damage, productivity

Abstract

The Forest Management Unit Information System (SIKPH) is a platform that integrates information technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of forest management. This research aims to develop a web-based SIKPH as a modern solution for the Forest Management Unit in Yogyakarta. The system development method uses the scrum methodology, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and evaluation. Requirements analysis was conducted by understanding the demands and challenges faced by the Yogyakarta Forest Management Unit. Based on this analysis, the system design includes web architecture, user interface, database, and functionality that supports forest management processes. System implementation using the Laravel framework with performance testing shows an average response time of 1.2 seconds for 20 simultaneous users and 2.0 seconds for 30 users. User acceptance evaluation involved 30 respondents with beta testing results showing an average satisfaction level of 4.4 out of 5 for aspects of ease of use (4.3), feature compatibility (4.5), and system benefits (4.6). The system includes modules for forest sustainability monitoring, inventory management, and reporting with a 96% implementation success rate based on functional testing. The results of this research provide a positive contribution to forest management in Yogyakarta by improving process efficiency by 40% compared to the previous manual system.

Abstract
