Abstract

In the era of modern education, not only academic knowledge is considered necessary, but also the formation of strong character in students, especially in terms of empathy. Many things can influence character, one of which is the school environment. The school environment greatly influences student character. If the school environment is favourable, positive character will be formed, and conversely, if the environment is hostile, the student's character will become less suitable. This literature review will discuss the influence of the school environment on students' empathetic character, which will later be reviewed from the perspective of teachers, students and parents. The responses or perspectives of students, teachers and parents are used as an indicator for research. The student's perspective is seen from social interactions in the school environment, the teacher's perspective is seen from the teacher's assessment of student behaviour, and the parent's perspective is seen from open communication regarding the character of Empathyempathythis literature review and the three subject perspectives, it can be concluded that the school environment is the second place for forming students' empathetic character, and the school environment is very influential in forming students' character.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Education is one of the most important factors in improving the quality of people's The character of an individual becomes a characteristic for that individual. At the tertiary level, implementing character education has a number of challenges. In this research, researchers implemented character education through low-class social studies learning in tertiary institutions. The research is descriptive qualitative research, which was carried out on lower class social studies learning courses, at the Primary School Teacher Education study program. The data source used was taken using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and documentation. The data validation technique uses triangulation of sources and methods. The implementation of character education carried out by lecturers, one of which is through integration into lower class social studies learning courses. Apart from that, universities must be able to shape student character through various campus activities. On the other hand, the limitation of this research is that the researcher did not specifically examine the integration of character education in each material in the LowerClass Social Sciences course. The analysis used by researchers is only able to uncover character integration during the pre-lecture process through to lectures. Therefore, this limitation can be an opportunity for future researchers to improve it.

Abstract

Abstract The research aims to determine the increase in creative thinking skills and mathematical self-efficacy in mathematics learning through Canva animation media. A non-equivalent control group with a quasi-experimental design was employed in the study. Tests and attitude scales were used in data collection procedures. Utilizing both inferential and descriptive statistics for data analysis. The research result shows that the improvement of creative thinking skills of those who learn with animated media is significantly better than those who learn with conventional learning. However, there was no difference in the students' self-efficacy in the experimental class compared to the control class, and it even tended to decrease. The mathematical self-efficacy of students learning with Canva animated media decreased significantly more than that of students learning with conventional learning. Thus, Canva animation media can significantly improve students’ creative thinking skills, but it cannot significantly improve their mathematical self-efficacy.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to describe the process, obstacles and solutions to teacher-parent communication patterns in increasing student learning motivation during the pandemic in grade 3 elementary school. Methods: This type of research is field research using Grounded Theory. Participants in this research were 20 parents and students as well as two teachers at an elementary school in Jepara. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation and documentation with primary data sources including homeroom teachers, parents and students. The validity of the data uses a credibility test with triangulation techniques. Researchers carry out data analysis using several stages, namely problem formulation, use of theoretical studies (if necessary), data collection and sampling, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. Results: The results of the research show that: 1) Teacher and parent communication patterns in increasing student learning motivation during the pandemic in grade 3 elementary school are divided into three forms, namely: One-stage communication pattern, the communication pattern carried out by parents does not provide feedback to Teacher. Two-stage communication pattern: communication between teachers and parents has feedback. In the three-stage communication pattern, the communication carried out has feedback, and the communicant here can convey the information he obtains to other people. 2) Barriers to communication patterns, namely parents as communicants do not immediately provide feedback, and sometimes the feedback does not match the message conveyed by the teacher. 3) The solution is that parents must take the initiative in giving messages. Motivate children to be patient, open and empathetic, provide religious education as early as possible, and provide encouragement. Conclusion: This research reveals communication patterns between teachers and parents to increase student learning motivation during the pandemic. Communication patterns are divided into three stages, with challenges such as delayed feedback from parents. Thus, it is necessary to involve parents proactively, to take communication initiatives, form patience and empathy in children, provide religious education as early as possible, and provide ongoing support, thereby creating an environment that supports student motivation and learning.
