Abstract

Background: Hypothyroidism on women at childbearing age (WCA) can cause reproduction disorder, i.e. infertility,spontaneous abortion, impaired growth and development of foetus, placental abruption, and preterm delivery.Exposure tolead(Pb) at low lever contunuely for a long time willresult thyroid dysfunction. This research aimedtoprove that lead exposure is a risk factor for thyroid dysfunction among WCA in metal industrial of Pesarean inTegal districtMethods: Cross-sectional studyused32subjectsresearchatmetal industrial PesareanDistrictof Tegal. Pblevelsinthe bloodwas used asbiomakerofPbexposure. Thyroid dysfunction was determined based on the result ofTSH(Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). Confounding variables were also measured. These variables were age,length of stay, participation in hormonal contraception, iodine intake, pesticide exposure, exposure to cigarettesmoke, and employment history. Data would be analyzed using chi-square test at 0,05 level of significancy.Result: The prevalence of hypothyroidism among WCA was 25 %. Lead exposure was a risk factor for hypothyroidism(95 % CI, PR= 11,667(1,628- 83,597); and p-value = 0,002. The higher the degree of exposure, the greater therisk of having thyroid dysfunction. Based on data and the theory analysis, the pathogenesis of hypothyroidismwas suspected through the disruption of TPO function, D1 enzyme inhibition and D3 enzyme activation.Conclusion: Lead exposure was a risk factor for thyroid dysfunction among WCA in metal industrial township.Keywords: Leadexposure, hypothyroidism, blood lead level

Abstract

In the era of modern education, not only academic knowledge is considered necessary, but also the formation of strong character in students, especially in terms of empathy. Many things can influence character, one of which is the school environment. The school environment greatly influences student character. If the school environment is favourable, positive character will be formed, and conversely, if the environment is hostile, the student's character will become less suitable. This literature review will discuss the influence of the school environment on students' empathetic character, which will later be reviewed from the perspective of teachers, students and parents. The responses or perspectives of students, teachers and parents are used as an indicator for research. The student's perspective is seen from social interactions in the school environment, the teacher's perspective is seen from the teacher's assessment of student behaviour, and the parent's perspective is seen from open communication regarding the character of Empathyempathythis literature review and the three subject perspectives, it can be concluded that the school environment is the second place for forming students' empathetic character, and the school environment is very influential in forming students' character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pro dan kontra mengenai pengelanan kemampuan membaca pada anak usia dini di lingkungan masyarakat. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kesiapan dan media pembelajaran pada pengenalan kemampuan membaca yang dilakukan oleh pendidik di lingkungan sekolah. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui observasi dan wawancara kepada 18 siswa kelompok A dan 2 guru kelas di salah satu Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan Teknik analisis tematik Clarke dan Braun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada semester satu anak belum memiliki kesiapan dalam menerima kegiatan membaca sehingga pendidik akan mengenalkan kegiatan membaca pada semester dua. Kondisi tersebut mempengaruhi target pencapaian, pendidik tidak mentargetkan anak untuk memiliki kemampuan membaca melainkan pada pembiasaan atau perilaku. Kemudian, media yang digunakan dalam mengenalkan kemampuan membaca melalui kartu gambar, permainan, lagu, buku bacalah.

Abstract

The low cognitive abilities of early childhood and the lack of variety of media and methods used in learning mean that this research aims to look at STEAM-based batik activities in improving cognitive abilities in early childhood. This research approach is a mixed method with a focus on group B children aged 5-6 years in one of the kindergartens in Gebangudik District, Cirebon Regency. Data was collected using observation techniques and interviews. Interview data and observations of STEAM-based batik activities using a qualitative approach. Observational data on children's cognitive abilities will be analyzed using a quantitative approach. The results of this research show that STEAM-based batik activities can improve children's cognitive abilities with a percentage gain of 39% in the Starting to Develop category to 70% in the Developing According to Expectations category, especially in the ability to solve problems, think critically, develop reasoning power, and make decisions. Because this batik activity is modified into an activity that can make children explore their environment because this batik activity goes through several steps, namely patterning, wiping and batiking. Steps of activities that are integrated with the STEAM approach can improve the ability to solve problems, think critically, develop reasoning power, and make decisions.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tentang analisis modal sosial dan perilaku masyarakat serta pengaruhnya terhadap pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di Semail, Bangunharjo, Sewon, diperoleh hasil bahwa masyarakat punya modal sosial, sikap yang berpengaruh pada kegiatan pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga dan lingkungannya, namun pengetahuan mereka tentang pengelolaan sampah yang masih kurang karena belum ada penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pengelolaan sampah di wilayah tersebut. Sampah yang dihasilkan masyarakat dan kawasan sebagian besar sampah organik, maka untuk itu perlu kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pengelolaan sampah organik, yang diwujudkan dalam kegiatan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melatih masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah organik di Dusun Semail, Desa Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Inter Proffesional Education (IPE) dengan melibatkan 6 Mahasiswa dan juga dilakukan dengan Inter Proffesional Collaboration (IPC) dengan melibatkan 2 dosen, 1 Tendik dan 1 praktisi Puskesmas Sewon 2, Bantul. Hasil analisis berpasangan tingkat pengetahuan peserta pelatihan eco enzym, kompos dan biopori menunjukkan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 atau terdapat perbedaan yang nyata/signifikan pengetahuan warga antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan pelatihan. Disimpulkan peserta pelatihan pengelolaan sampah organik menjadi kompos, biopori, dan eco enzyme telah terlatih dan peserta telah menerapkan pengelolaan sampah organik setelah dilakukan pelatihan. Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus untuk mengeksplorasi dan memahami rencana strategis pencegahan bullying pada anak usia dini. Enam subjek penelitian, yang merupakan informan utama, dipilih dari lingkungan pendidikan anak usia dini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan Fokus Group Discussion (FGD). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola tematik yang muncul dari data wawancara dan FGD. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rencana strategis pencegahan bullying yang efektif harus melibatkan semua pihak terkait, termasuk guru, orang tua, dan pihak sekolah. Pendidikan menjadi aspek kunci dalam upaya pencegahan, dengan penekanan pada pemahaman mendalam tentang dampak bullying dan cara mengembangkan karakter positif pada anak. Promosi lingkungan positif juga dianggap penting dalam mencegah bullying. Lingkungan yang mendukung, ramah anak, dan mempromosikan norma-norma perilaku positif dapat menciptakan kondisi yang tidak mendukung tumbuhnya perilaku bullying. Selain itu, intervensi dini diakui sebagai langkah proaktif yang krusial untuk mengatasi masalah sejak dini sebelum memburuk. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa rencana strategis pencegahan bullying pada anak usia dini memiliki dampak positif dalam membentuk karakter dan kesejahteraan anak-anak. Melibatkan semua pihak terkait, fokus pada pendidikan, promosi lingkungan positif, dan intervensi dini dapat membentuk dasar yang kokoh untuk mencegah dan mengatasi bullying di kalangan anak usia dini. Implikasi praktis penelitian ini dapat memberikan panduan bagi pengembangan kebijakan dan program pencegahan bullying yang lebih efektif di lingkungan pendidikan anak usia dini

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan terkait dengan perkembangan sosial-emoisonal pada anak usia dini pasca masa pandemi covid-19 di lembaga PAUD yang ada di Kecamatan Waled Kabupaten Cirebon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran pendidik dalam menstimulus perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini pasca pandemi, Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara secara terbuka dan observasi kepada empat pendidik pada salah satu lembaga PAUD di Kecamatan Waled. Pemilihan partisipan tersebut karena memiliki pengalaman mengajar di lembaga PAUD kurang lebih sudah 10 tahun. Data yang terkumpulkan akan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil dari penelitian ini menguraikan bahwa peran pendidik dalam menstimulus perkembangan sosial emosional pada anak usia dini pasca pandemi, seperti membimbing, melatih dan memotivasi serta mengelola manajemen kelas. Selain itu juga, terdapat faktor pengaruh eksternal dan internal yang mempengaruhi pemberian stimulus perkembangan sosial-emosional pada anak, yaitu kerjasama pendidik dengan orang tua dalam bentuk kesepakatan, dan adanya kegiatan parenting. Kemudian, terdapat dampak positif dan negatif dari perkembangan sosial emosional anak pada pasca pandemi

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of cultivating patient behavior from an early age because this patient behavior is useful for the future. The purpose of this study was to see the development of patient behavior in the August 17th competition activities. This study uses a Literature Review using three stages, namely data collection, data assessment, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are August 17th competition activities that can be carried out on children aged 4-5 years, namely the flag relay race, putting balls in a basket, cracker eating competition, marble carrying competition in a spoon, filling water into bottles, dribbling balloons. Although these activities are competitions that can build a healthy competitive spirit, these activities can also increase children's sense of pleasure, and can improve several aspects of child development, namely, cognitive, language, motoric, and social emotional, especially patient behavior, such as training children to be patient waiting for their turn to play then children will learn calmly and not rush in taking, dribbling, or putting in objects. In addition, children learn not to get angry and not give up or accept when they do not win.

Abstract

This research is motivated by differences in the pros and cons of introducing writing to children in early childhood education institutions and the encouragement from parents so that their children can have the ability to write so that it is not uncommon for teacher to be in the wrong position. This research aims to look at the readiness of children in writing skills and the introduction of writing skills in early childhood education by teacher. Descriptive qualitative is the method used in this study. The choice of this method is to provide an in-depth description and description of the introduction of writing skills in early childhood, especially in group A children aged 4 – 5 years. Participants in this study were 18 children in group A and 3 class teachers in group A. Data collection in this study used observation and interview. Interviews were conducted directly and openly with 3 class teachers. The data collected by the children was analyzed using the Clark and Braun thematic analysis technique. This study found that in the first semester in group A, they did not have the readiness to introduce writing skills so the children's teacher introduced writing skills in the second semester. There is no readiness in this child because the child's fine motor development has not developed properly, so the main focus is on the achievement target, namely on the development of children's development, especially fine motor skills. This achievement target and media are different from the previous year, this is due to the lack of habit of writing in the home environment, the role of parents, and the collaboration of teacher with parents

Abstract

Low student mathematics learning outcomes should be a concern at this time, because low learning outcomes indicate that learning objectives have not been achieved. This study aimed to see how far the achievement of students' mathematics learning outcomes (MLO) is through the concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach based on students' early mathematical abilities (EMA). The study used a quasi-experimental through a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. One hundred nineteen 5th-grade elementary school students in Purwakarta, Subang, Karawang, and Bekasi districts participated in this study on the volume of cubes and rectangular prisms. The research instrument used tests and non-tests, which were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show that the achievement of MLO of students who receive learning with the CPA approach is better than conventional learning (CPA: 64,32 and Conventional: 56,32) p-value 0,001<0,05. Achievement of students' MLO in learning CPA and conventional in the high EMA group is in the high category (CPA: 75,31 and Conventional: 78,00) p-value 0,343>0,05. Achievement of students' MLO in learning CPA and conventional in the Moderate EMA group is in the medium category (CPA: 61,62 and Conventional: 51,54) p-value 0,003<0,05. Achievement of students' MLO in learning CPA and conventional in the Low EMA group is in the medium category (CPA: 55,00 and Conventional: 36,36) p-value 0,012<0,05. Thus, the concrete-pictorial-abstract approach can be an alternative to developing MLO for students with high, medium, or low mathematical abilities.
