Abstract

This research focuses on adolescents with mental health issues such as stress and anxiety. Stress is described as general daily pressure that affects daily behavior, while anxiety is defined as excessive worry about future events. Both stress and anxiety are closely associated with low self-esteem, which refers to an individual's perception and evaluation of their ability to face and solve problems. Various interventions can enhance self-esteem, with art therapy being particularly effective for adolescents. In this study, the State Self-Esteem Scale (SSES) was used to measure self-esteem, and the DASS-21 was used to assess stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms. Five female participants completed the intervention, which consisted of eight sessions conducted over five days. This research utilized a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test method. The intervention results showed a significant increase in global self-esteem scores, as well as changes in stress, anxiety, and depression levels

Abstract

Anxiety is a common occurrence among individuals facing transitions in life phases, including students who have certain hopes, goals, and standards of living related to their future. As they near the end of their studies, in addition to their final assignments, envisioning the future also becomes a source of anxiety for students. Anxiety is influenced by cognitive performance, especially the perception of things not yet experienced. Anxiety about the future is influenced by negative perceptions of things not yet experienced. One effective therapy in reducing this anxiety is positive thinking therapy. This study aims to prove the effect of positive thinking therapy on 17 male and female students aged between 20 – 24 years old. The participants were selected by purposive sampling method and obtained 17 participants. The 17 participants were randomly divided into two groups, as control and experimental groups. The experiments conducted with repeated measure control group design. The result of repeated measure from the experimental group showed F = 28.2, p < 0.01 and control group showed F = 46,1 and p < 0.01. Meanwhile, the results of independent sample t-test analysis showed a score of F = 2.25 with P < 0.05. The result showed that positive thinking therapy is capable to decrease the symptoms of future anxiety.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between neuroticism and phubbing among university students and explored the moderating role of gender. Guided by the stress and coping model and personality theory, a cross-sectional survey was conducted with 236 Indonesian students (53% female; 85.8% aged 20–23) using validated measures: the Generic Scale of Phubbing and the IPIP-BFM-25 emotional stability subscale. Descriptive analysis showed that phubbing scores were notably right-skewed, with a mean of 53.2 (SD = 17.94) and a higher median of 66.0. Neuroticism significantly predicted phubbing behavior (Estimate = 2.369, SE = 0.120, 95% CI [2.133, 2.605], p < .001), while gender showed no main effect (p = .120) and did not moderate the neuroticism–phubbing relationship (interaction p = .093). Independent t-tests and Mann–Whitney U tests confirmed no significant gender differences in either phubbing or neuroticism levels. These findings suggest that neuroticism is a more robust predictor of phubbing than gender, likely due to differences in emotional regulation. Given the use of convenience sampling and a cross-sectional design, the generalizability of findings is limited. Targeted interventions focusing on emotional coping may be effective in reducing phubbing, especially among individuals high in neuroticism.

Abstract

Generation Alpha grew up in the digital era with early exposure to technology that influences the way they interact and develop. Therefore, it is important for us to understand the factors that may affect their subjective well-being, including attachment to parents. The subjects of this study were 395 people belonging to the alpha generation, aged 11-14 years who had at least one parent living with them. The research instruments were the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment-Revised (IPPA-R) by Gullone & Robinson to measure parenting attachment and the Children’s World Subjective Well-Being Scale which is an adaptation by Borualogo & Casas to measure the level of subjective well-being in the alpha generation. Through statistical analysis of Spearman correlation, it was found that there was no significant relationship between parenting attachment and subjective well-being in the alpha generation (r = 0.079, p > .05).

Abstract

Background: Early marriage remains a global challenge that negatively impacts reproductive health and the quality of human resources. In Indonesia, the high rate of child marriage is an obstacle to achieving superior, healthy, and competitive human resources. Purpose: To examine premarital education as an effort to prevent reproductive risks and to promote maturity at marriageable age. Method: A systematic literature review using the Population, Concept, Context (PCC) framework was conducted. The literature was searched through databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar for articles relevant to premarital education and reproductive health from 2018–2025. Results: Of the eight studies analyzed, premarital education was proven effective in increasing brides' knowledge about reproductive health, nutrition, and marriage readiness. Interventions included classes at religious affairs offices, school education, community seminars, and participatory models such as FOCUS–PDCA. Key barriers included cultural resistance, limited facilitators, and lack of contextual materials. Conversely, policy support, collaborative approaches, and interactive educational methods were important supporting factors. Conclusion: Premarital education has significant potential to reduce early marriage rates and improve the reproductive readiness of young couples. Adaptive implementation, based on local culture, and integrated with behavior change communication strategies, is essential for long-term effectiveness. Suggestion: Premarital education can be developed in a more adaptive and contextual manner by integrating participatory approaches, based on local culture, and easily accessible digital media. The program needs to be strengthened with behavior change communication strategies so that increased knowledge leads to changes in attitudes and actions.   Keywords: Early Marriage; Premarital Education; Reproductive Health.
