Abstract

Environmental Literacy and Waste Bank using Digital and Sociopreneur-Based for Early Childhood Education Environment to Reduce the Waste Emergency in Yogyakarta Abstract Amid increasingly complex waste management challenges, TK IT Mekar Insani Yogyakarta faces issues related to the implementation of a new waste management policy. The importance of environmental literacy for early childhood cannot be overlooked, especially in shaping awareness and care for the environment. Therefore, two key initiatives of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) were designed: the establishment of a digital and sociopreneur-based Waste Bank, and environmental literacy activities involving children, parents, and teachers. The Waste Bank functions to manage waste with economic value, utilizing an efficient digital recording system. Meanwhile, the environmental literacy activities aim to improve students' and parents' understanding and awareness of the importance of waste management. The program's results showed a 60% increase in participants' knowledge. Initial evaluations revealed that only 50% of participants had basic knowledge of waste management, which increased to 85% after the training. In the environmental literacy activities, students' understanding also significantly improved, with the average participant score increasing from 5 to 9 points. The management of the Waste Bank, which also involves sociopreneurial elements, is expected to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, while providing economic benefits to the community.

Abstract

Resilience in the face of delays in the distribution of humanitarian logistics is a crucial aspect in post-disaster response. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the resilience of disaster victims in the context of logistics delays using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. This research model adopts three main constructs, namely Sense of Mastery (SoM), Sense of Relatedness (SoR), and Emotional Reactivity (ER), which are assumed to contribute to individual resilience (RES). Data was collected through a questionnaire-based survey of individuals who had experienced delays in the distribution of humanitarian aid. The results of the analysis show that SoM and SoR have a significant positive influence on resilience. In contrast, ER has a negative relationship with RES, which means that the higher a person's level of emotional reactivity, the lower their level of resilience in the face of delays in help. In the initial model, there are several indicators showing low outer loading values so they are excluded from the final model, because they do not contribute significantly to other variables. After refining the model, the reliability results show that the remaining constructs have good validity and reliability values. Strong R-square values for all endogenous variables (SoM = 0.962, SoR = 0.894, ER = 0.981, RES = 0.944) confirm that the model has high predictive ability in explaining resilience in the context of delays in the distribution of human logistics. The results of this study can be the basis for policymakers and stakeholders in developing a more optimal aid distribution system, as well as mitigation strategies that can increase the resilience of disaster victims in facing future logistical challenges.

Abstract

University students often encounter various academic and personal challenges that may affect their psychological functioning. Subjective well-being is a crucial psychological resource that helps individuals cope with these challenges. Among the key factors influencing subjective well-being are social support and positivity. This study examines the moderating role of positivity in the relationship between social support and subjective well-being. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 416 university students through three validated instruments: the Social Support Scale, the Positivity Scale, and the Subjective Well-being Scale. The data were analyzed using moderated regression analysis. Results revealed that social support and positivity were positively and significantly associated with subjective well-being. Moreover, positivity significantly moderated the relationship between social support and subjective well-being. The simple slope analysis shows that at a high positivity level (+1 SD), the estimated effect of social support on subjective well-being was 0.296 (SE = 0.0344, Z = 8.62, p < 0.001). This shows that positivity strengthens the relationship between social support and subjective well-being.

Abstract

One of the problems experienced by coastal communities in Banaran Village is limited access to education, health care, and public services, which impact the dynamics and well-being of life. The limited access to health care, particularly mental health, significantly impacts the community's quality of life. This is especially true in villages far from the city and experiencing economic instability. Individuals with a quality of life are better able to manage themselves and the problems they face. Therefore, knowledge about mental health is needed so that coastal communities have the same knowledge as other communities. Coastal communities are a vulnerable group due to a lack of mental health literacy. Therefore, mental health literacy is one solution to improving the quality of life of coastal communities. The goal of this activity is to improve the quality of life of coastal communities through Mental Health Literacy. The method used is training that includes education and role-play through self-assessment. The results showed a difference in participants' understanding and skills after being provided with education and role-play on mental health literacy. This increase in cognitive skills allows individuals to think clearly and identify alternative solutions to their problems, thus encouraging them to seek the most effective solutions to avoid conditions that cause mental disorders. Mental health literacy is an alternative solution to problems that can improve the community's quality of life.

Abstract

The phenomenon of brain rot, characterized by a decline in cognitive function due to excessive consumption of shallow digital content such as short videos, is increasingly found among late adolescents. This period represents a critical stage of development marked by growing independence and intensive media exploration. Paternal involvement in parenting is presumed to have a protective role in adolescents' digital behavior, but its relevance to brain rot remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the relationship between father involvement and the level of brain rot in late adolescents. A correlational quantitative method was employed. The participants consisted of 151 late adolescents (aged 18–21) selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were two scales: a father involvement scale and a brain rot scale developed based on eight cognitive functional aspects. Data analysis was conducted using Karl Pearson correlation due to the non-normal distribution of the data. The results showed no significant relationship between father involvement and brain rot (r = -0,010; p = 0,908). These findings indicate that father involvement does not have a direct contribution to the level of brain rot in late adolescents.
