Abstract

The growing demand for sustainable and high-quality animal feed has led to exploring alternative sources of protein and other essential nutrients. The black soldier fly (BSF) maggots Hermetia illucens and microalgae Aurantiochytrium sp. are promising candidates. Both have shown significant potential due to their nutritional profiles and environmental benefits. This study aimed to compare the fatty acid content of two groups of Sangkuriang catfish. One group was given commercial animal feed, while the other group was fed with a combination of Aurantiochytrium sp. microalga biomass feed, Hermetia illucens maggot, rice bran, and corn flour. The catfish fed with Aurantiochytrium sp. microalga biomass, Hermetia illucens maggot, rice bran, and corn flour had a different fatty acid composition than the control group. This alternative diet led to an increase in the omega-3 docosahexaenoic fatty acid (DHA) content in the catfish. The study results suggest that fish feed containing Hermetia illucens maggots and microalgae Aurantiochytrium sp. can enhance fish's beneficial nutrition after being fed this particular feed mixture.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between analytical thinking skills and decision-making abilities. The sampling technique uses Cluster Random Sampling, and the sample used is as many as 62 students. The research method used is quantitative with correlational analysis. Test instruments are used to measure analytical thinking skills and decision-making skills of 25 questions each. In the validity test with the Point Biserial Correlation formula, 22 valid questions and 3 invalid questions were produced on the analytical thinking ability test, while on the decision-making ability test, a total of 24 valid questions and 1 invalid question was produced. In the reliability test, the Kuder-Richardson Reliability Coefficient (KR-20) formula was used to obtain a reliability value of 0.824 on the analytical thinking ability test instrument. In contrast, the decision-making ability test instrument obtained a reliability value of 0.878. Furthermore, testing of the analysis requirements, namely the regression linearity test, obtained regression equation = 43.227 + 0.499X and significance value 0.404 > 0.05, it can be concluded that the data has a linear relationship. In hypothesis testing with the Product Moment Correlation test, a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained. Thus, H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. So, there is a relationship between analytical thinking skills and decision-making skills.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran; sel; kertas bekas Training on Making Cell Learning Media Using Waste PaperABSTRAC The use of paper has always been used by any activity, so many papers are not reused and become waste paper that is thrown away in vain after use. This then arises the idea to utilize and be associated with learning activities, namely as learning media. Because teaching and learning activities are very needed media that is very innovative, creative and makes it easy for students to learn to understand learning materials. One of them is the study of biology in cell matter, the final understanding of learning requires students to understand and distinguish all forms of organelles between animal and plant cells. From this problem, the holding of training in making cell learning media using paper was used. The method of this activity is to carry out training and approach the intended partners, carry out training and evaluation. The results of the questionnaire concluded that 100% of the training participants stated that the training activities were very useful, the replicas that had been made were very easy for students to study animal cells and plant cells. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic made higher education institutes support online education. Searching for the learning difficulties of students who have gone through lectures online needs to be done as anticipation and looking for solutions in the next lecture. This quantitative descriptive research was conducted in biology education study programs that have studied Plant Physiology in the 2020-2021 academic years. 56 respondents were given a questionnaire related to their difficulties during the online lectures. Learning difficulties in the external aspect were the slow internet network (58.90%) and the internal aspect was very difficult to focus on listening to online lectures if the room where the lecture was messy (58.90%). Physical and physical health profile, easy to get sore and sleepy during the course (57.10%). On the profile of academic learning, students find it more difficult to find textbooks during online lectures than during offline lectures (69.60%). The characteristics of the courses that affected the mastery of the material were the presence of many illustrations of physiological processes (30.40%) and complex concepts (30.40%). Lecturers and students work together to overcome these difficulties so as not to disrupt the overall course of lectures so that online lectures continue well.
