Abstract

This study explores the integration of Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) and its impact on English Language Teaching (ELT). The research addresses the issue of how technology influences students' learning experiences in ELT. The study aims to examine students' perspectives on the use of digital tools in language learning and their effectiveness in enhancing the learning process. A case study approach was employed, with data collected through the interactive platform Mentimeter. Fourteen students from the Tadris Bahasa Inggris Study Program at STAIN Mandailing Natal participated by providing their opinions on the integration of technology in ELT during a presentation session. The analysis reveals that the majority of respondents expressed positive perceptions of technology use in ELT. Students highlighted those various digital tools introduce a new dimension to learning, making the process more engaging and accessible. Key benefits identified include easier access to resources, increased interactivity, and greater flexibility in learning. These findings emphasize the significance of incorporating digital tools into language instruction to enhance the overall learning experience.

Abstract

Learning media is anything that can be used to convey a message from the sender to the recipient, thereby stimulating students' thoughts, feelings, attention, and interest in learning. Learning media is crucial to the world of education. Amidst today's rapid technological developments, teachers are required to possess the necessary skills to master technology and its relevance to learning media in the classroom. The Canva application is one such learning technology utilized for learning media. Training on creating learning media using Canva was held to improve the skills and digital literacy of teachers at SDN 054945 Dogang Tanjung Pura Langkat. The results of this training concluded that this activity can help teachers become more proficient in using digital technology and offer a wider selection of learning media to motivate students to learn. The impact of the Canva training on learning includes teachers' knowledge of how to create more innovative learning media, make learning more creative and less monotonous, and transform learning into a fun experience.

Abstract

Social relationships are desired if someone feels that their self-esteem or sense of security will increase, and this relationship will be realized by carrying out harmonious communication. Interpersonal communication is a communication process that is considered the most effective and the process can be done in a very simple way. Apart from being an important element, interpersonal communication is a "bridge" in establishing social relationships between people. Apart from being effective, interpersonal communication is a communication process that is considered important and a necessity for every person, both in formal and non-formal organizations. Therefore, it is important for everyone to have communication skills, without being limited by position, social status or stratification in social life. This research uses qualitative research, with descriptive qualitative research type. The research subjects were madrasah principals and Darussa'adah Darussa'adah teachers. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. Abstract

The growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has reshaped language learning, offering new opportunities for students to enhance their writing skills. This qualitative study explores the experiences of 27 first-semester students from the Islamic Education Management Department at Institut Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah, Tanjung Pura, in learning English writing through ChatGPT. The study aims to understand how students use ChatGPT as a problem-solving tool when facing difficulties in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence construction. Data were collected through questionnaires and written reflections. The findings reveal that students use ChatGPT to find examples, clarify grammatical rules, and practice sentence formation in various contexts. Many students reported feelings of curiosity, engagement, and self-reflection during the process. The study implies that ChatGPT can serve as an effective learning companion, fostering learner autonomy and motivation in developing writing skills among beginner students in Islamic higher education settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemajuan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan telah mendorong munculnya berbagai platform digital yang dirancang untuk mendukung pembelajaran. Untuk tahap akhir dalam pelaksanaan Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) dibutuhkan evaluasi dalam kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan dengan kata lain yaitu supervisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran supervisi kepala sekolah berbasis platform merdeka mengajar dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di era kurikulum merdeka pada SMA Swasta Mulia Securai. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala madrasah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru dan siswa. Adapun teknhik pengumpulan data yang digunakan antara lain observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Supervisi tentunya dilakukan dengan sesuai keadaan dan yang diberikan oleh pemerintah. Salah satu aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk supervisi yaitu platform merdeka mengajar. Sebelum menggunakan aplikasi ini, tentu sekolah membentuk tim pengembangan kurikulum; 2) Kualitas pembelajaran di era kurikulum Merdeka dapat dilihat dari pembelajaran intrakurikuler yang berfokus pada penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila, pembelajaran kurikuler dengan prinsip interdisipliner yakni berfokus terhadap karakter serta kompetensi umum, serta pembelajaran ekstrakurikuler; dan 3) Peran supervisi kepala sekolah sangatlah penting dan membantu guru. Adapun peran supervisi kepala sekolah berbasis platform mengajar dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di era kurikulum merdeka di SMA Swasta Mulia Securai yaitu membangun pemahaman kurikulum merdeka belajar, mendukung implementasi kurikulum merdeka belajar, melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi, mendorong budaya koloborasi, serta mengembangkan kapasistas diri.

Abstract

Perpustakaan sekolah memiliki peran strategis sebagai pusat sumber belajar dan pengembangan literasi peserta didik. Namun, kondisi perpustakaan yang kurang tertata sering menjadi hambatan dalam pemanfaatannya secara optimal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan proyek penataan ulang perpustakaan serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap akses informasi dan kenyamanan belajar siswa di SMKS YPII Tanjungpura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode observasi, dokumentasi, dan refleksi kegiatan selama pelaksanaan proyek mini. Proyek dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, meliputi observasi kondisi awal perpustakaan, pengelompokan dan penataan ulang koleksi buku, perbaikan tata letak ruang, serta penyediaan papan informasi sederhana untuk memudahkan pencarian koleksi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penataan ulang perpustakaan mampu menciptakan ruang belajar yang lebih rapi, bersih, dan nyaman, serta mempermudah akses siswa terhadap bahan bacaan. Selain itu, proyek ini juga mendorong meningkatnya partisipasi siswa dalam menjaga keteraturan perpustakaan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya literasi. Dengan demikian, penataan ulang perpustakaan melalui kegiatan proyek mini dapat menjadi salah satu strategi efektif dalam mengoptimalkan fungsi perpustakaan sekolah sebagai pusat literasi dan sumber belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the madrasah principal in managing the digital education transformation at MAN 2 Langkat. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the madrasah principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers, and students as research informants.The results indicate that the strategies for managing digital education transformation were implemented in a planned and gradual manner. Digital transformation was directed toward the integration of technology in learning, the transformation of the madrasah community’s mindset, the strengthening of teachers’ digital competencies, and the development of a digital-based educational management system. These strategies were realized through the use of digital learning media and platforms, digitalization of learning administration, implementation of the Madrasah Digital Report (RDM), utilization of online communication applications, and the use of social media as a tool for madrasah branding. The challenges encountered included disparities in digital competence among human resources, limited facilities and infrastructure, internet network constraints, and the readiness of teachers and students. Efforts to address these challenges were carried out through continuous guidance, technology training, optimization of facilities, and digital literacy assistance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan transformasi digital dalam manajemen sekolah di MAN 1 Langkat, mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan hambatan pelaksanaannya, serta menganalisis pengaruh transformasi digital terhadap efektivitas, efisiensi, dan mutu layanan Pendidikan, dengan fokus pada tiga rumusan masalah, yaitu: (1) penerapan teknologi digital dalam manajemen sekolah, (2) faktor pendukung dan hambatan transformasi digital, serta (3) dampak transformasi digital terhadap mutu layanan pendidikan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan subjek penelitian kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah, guru, serta tenaga kependidikan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan keabsahan data diuji dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MAN 1 Langkat telah menerapkan transformasi digital dalam manajemen sekolah, terutama pada sistem administrasi akademik, pendataan kepegawaian melalui EMIS dan SIMPATIKA, layanan kesiswaan, serta komunikasi berbasis digital. Faktor pendukung transformasi digital meliputi komitmen pimpinan madrasah dan dukungan kebijakan, sedangkan faktor hambatan mencakup keterbatasan literasi digital sebagian guru, sarana prasarana yang belum merata, serta kendala jaringan internet. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa transformasi digital berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan efektivitas, efisiensi, dan transparansi manajemen sekolah, meskipun masih memerlukan penguatan sumber daya manusia dan infrastruktur pendukung.
