Abstract

In line with the development direction of Kebundadap Timur Village and the effort to improve the local economy through mangrove tourism development, the community can enhance their economic resilience by creating sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, such as through ecotourism and the downstream processing of mangroves into organic batik. The potential of mangroves is evident from the diversity of species found in Kebundadap Timur Village, with no fewer than 22 mangrove species recorded. The downstream development of mangroves as the village’s main potential represents a crucial strategy to strengthen market share positioning, increase profitability, and contribute positively to local economic development. This strategy extends beyond the tourism industry to include the batik industry, which is designed to be competitive at local, national, and even global levels. The Women's Empowerment Group (PKK) of Kebundadap Timur Village is engaged in the management of organic mangrove batik, while the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDesa) Pasopati focuses on managing mangrove educational tourism. The methodological approach to addressing partner issues involved different focus areas: Partner 1 faced challenges in production and marketing, while Partner 2 needed solutions in promotion and destination development. The outcomes of this initiative include: (1) increased quantity of natural dye and organic hand-drawn batik products by Partner 1, with production achievement rising from 0% to 100%; (2) successful marketing of mangrove-based organic batik through partnership cooperation and digital marketing by Partner 1, also reaching 100% achievement; and (3) increased income-generating activities from WMK tourism through digital promotion and enhanced tourist attraction development by Partner 2, with monthly revenue increasing from IDR 3,000,000 to IDR 5,950,000.Sejalan dengan arah pengembangan Desa Kebundadap Timur dan melihat pada peningkatan Ekonomi Lokal melalui pengembangan wisata mangrove, masyarakat dapat meningkatkan ekonomi lokal dengan menciptakan lapangan kerja dan kewirausahaan berkelanjutan, seperti ekowisata, dan hilirasisi mangrove menjadi batik organik.

Domestic waste produced by the community is directly channeled/discarded into drainage channels which can cause environmental pollution. This has proven to be the case for several points of severe environmental pollution. This community service activity aims to minimize environmental pollution with waste water treatment plants (IPAL), maximize limited land with hydropnic planting media, and increase the entrepreneurial spirit. There are 2 partners, namely RT 07 and RT 08 Ageng Hamlet, Pinggirpapas Village, District. Kalianget District. Sumenep. This activity began with the handover of grant items to partners, training with 30 participants. The level of knowledge of ipal training participants before was 5.33% after the training was 92.33%. The knowledge level of hydroponic training participants before the training was 4% after the training was 96% while the knowledge level of marketing training participants for hydroponic cultivation products before the training was 15.33% after the training was 86.67%

Abstract

Sustainable agriculture is an important pillar in achieving national food security, especially in rural areas that have an agricultural production base. This study aims to analyse the role and support of village governments in food policy and its implications for farmer independence in Sumenep Regency. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, surveys of 15 respondents, and analysis of village policy documents in five sub-districts that are agricultural production centres (Gapura, Runaru, Batang Batang, Lenteng, and Guluk-Guluk). The results show that 73% of villages have allocated Village Funds for food security programmes, particularly for the procurement of high-quality local seeds, organic fertilisers, and simple agricultural equipment. A total of 35% of villages have Village Food Security Regulations as a legal instrument to protect land and strengthen local food reserves. In addition, several farmers have begun to adopt environmentally friendly agricultural practices and crop diversification, which has resulted in an increase in income of 5–15% per planting season. Farmers' high social capital strengthens local institutional collaboration, such as Poktan, Gapoktan, and BUMDes agriculture. These findings indicate that village government support plays a significant role in strengthening farmer independence and local food security through policy, institutions, and community participation. However, challenges such as limited access to capital, dependence on aid, and land conversion still require cross-level policy intervention. This study emphasises the importance of a multi-level governance approach and community-based sustainable agriculture as strategies for strengthening village food sovereignty.

Abstract

Introduction: The integration between cattle farming and agricultural crops has long been known as a strategy to improve efficiency in the use of natural resources. The cattle-crop integration system model enables synergy between these two sectors and plays a significant role in increasing farmer income in Madura. This research aims to analyze the role of the Madura cattle-tegal crop integration model in increasing farmer income. Methods: Samples were selected using purposive sampling technique, with criteria for farmers who have implemented the integration system for at least five years. The sample size was determined based on the availability of data that could be obtained and statistical analysis needs. The analysis method used Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). This design was chosen because SEM-PLS can handle latent variables and test relationships between variables simultaneously. Results: The analysis results show that both cattle maintenance and tegal crop management contribute significantly to increasing farmer income, with path coefficient values of 0.392 and 0.502 respectively, and T-statistic values > 1.96 (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: An R² value of 0.370 indicates that about 37% of farmers' income variations are explained by this integrated system, while the rest is influenced by external factors outside the model, this result is strong enough to illustrate the strategic role of the integration model in sustainable agribusiness systems.
