Abstract

AbstractCooking oil has become a daily necessity, but the remaining used cooking oil has a negative impact on health and the environment. This study aims to reduce these impacts by analyzing used cooking oil waste from frying in MSMEs in Gegerkaron Village, Bandung City. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, literature review, and questionnaires distributed to UMKM stakeholders, the community, and students with purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis techniques with triangulation consisting of data collection, data analysis, verification, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 83.33% of small and medium enterprises produced used cooking oil without knowing how to dispose of it, and the remaining 16.67% did not understand the dangers. The condition of the surrounding rivers, such as the polluted Cibereum River, is a strong indication of the threat of used cooking oil waste. Solutions from this research include education, namely support and innovation to process used cooking oil into environmentally friendly soap so as to reduce pollution and can provide sustainable community empowerment. Keywords: Used Cooking Oil, UMKM, Gegerkalong Neighborhoods

Abstract

West Sumatra is known as one of the largest banana producers in Indonesia, yet this potential has not been fully optimized. If maximized, it could have a positive impact on the community. Additionally, West Sumatra is famous for its diverse cuisine, including Pinukuik, which is becoming increasingly rare due to the high cost of ingredients. This research introduces "Pinukuik from Kepok Banana Peel" as a solution to optimize the use of kepok bananas. The data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and experimental analysis. The results show that 80% of respondents enjoyed the taste of Pinukuik made from banana peel, which contains 4.10% protein and 0.3169% calcium. Kepok banana peel is proven to be nutritious and suitable as a high-value food product. The production process is simple and cost-effective, making it easier to implement within the community.

Abstract

Body parts Diverse minerals and chemical substances found in water play a crucial role in the survival and ecosystem-wide equilibrium of aquatic life. Modernization and development aimed at enhancing human quality of life have, however, had a negative impact on the natural state of waters due to an increase in the number and quality of compounds. There are various challenges currently facing waste management as part of environmental rehabilitation efforts. The population has developed a habit of disposing of waste into river streams, and their unwillingness to treat it also contributes to the main issue, as was the case in the Padang River Stream Area. Water that is contaminated In this case the method used in this study is to collect data on survey results localized to the procedure: an unstructured interview, (guideline study only includes the important questions problem to be dug out of the respondents), so it can produce primary data , which will be the subject of research, and Non-Participant observation (observation that the researcher did not participate directly in the activities that are being observed), which produces secondary data that will strengthen the primary data. In this situation, the study's findings are anticipated to offer the best method for reducing Padang River pollution.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide information about the challenges of citizen science project learning in Indonesia, so that its implementation is maximized. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and literature review. The researcher used data triangulation which aims to increase the researcher's understanding of the data and facts. This local community engagement learning provides enormous benefits in school learning. The advantages of this learning are the involvement of experts and non-experts in the learning process, students learn from real objects, produce various products, and increase knowledge and skills. In addition, the disadvantages of this learning require additional time in the learning process. Challenges in citizen science project learning include cohesiveness or closeness of learners, interpersonal communication, use of information technology, and time. Thus, citizen science project learning is one of the current learning innovations that can be applied by teachers in schools.
