Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ interest in learning English in fourth grade at SD Negeri 08 Cipondoh, Tangerang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of qualitative descriptive research method. Qualitative research is used to identify students' interest in learning English. The subjects in this study were teachers and students of grade 4 SDN 08 Cipondoh Tangerang City. The type of research data consists of primary data and secondary data. The instruments in this study were observation guidelines, interviews, and questionnaires. In this study, the technique of checking the validity of the data used is the triangulation technique. The results showed that many students had a high interest in learning English.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tea Party learning model on English speaking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach, and the type of research used is experimental research. This research instrument used speaking skill test (pretest and posttest). The population of this study was the fourth-grade students of MI Darul Ulum, totalling 54 students, while the sampling technique was carried out with a saturated sample, that is, all of the population were used as samples of research. Based on the results of research and data analysis, students who were taught by applying the Tea Party learning model had an effect on the speaking skills. This can be proven by the significant level of = 0.05. From this value, it is obtained that t-count > t-table is 3,492 > 2,007, so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that through the application of the Tea Party learning model, students can improve speaking skills at the fourth-grade students of MI Darul Ulum.

Abstract

Learning quality service management based on character in vocational high school had important role to produce school graduates who had skills and characters. Daarut Tauhiid Vocational High School had kind and strong character (BaKu) concept implemented into all learning activities. This study aimed to describe Learning quality service management based on characters of kind and strong in Daarut Tauhiid Vocational High School. The method used was descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, study documentation and data validation test by data collection, data reduction, data display, and data verification. The result of this study showed that learning quality service plan based on kind and strong characters formulated by the principal and teacher council through character learning program (PBM Berkarakter) and the programs supported such as industries visitation, tahsin and tahfidz al-Quran, literacy, entrepreneurship skill, and skill certification. Learning quality service based on kind and strong characters implementation conducted through character learning program (PBM Berkarakter) in the class and habituation out of class. The implementation conducted based on the standard operational procedure (SOP). The assessment conducted through daily assessment, program assessment, and academic assessment. Daily assessment meant to assess students’ character and academic, weekly assessment conducted through self-assessment and peer assessment (PD-PAT), monthly assessment conducted by all Daarut Tauhiid civitas and the representation of students assessed the teacher by giving recommendation and critics, mid semester assessments and final semester assessment through mid semester assessment test (PTS) and final semester assessment test (PAS). By this, learning quality management based on kind and strong characters ran well.

Abstract

The target of this research is to find out the effect of Teaching Vocabulary by Using CoComelon audio visual media. In this study, the researcher uses experimental research with quantitative approach. The researcher wants to know the effectiveness of CoComelon audio visual media On English Vocabulary Learning for Fourth Grade of SDN Pulo 1 Ciruas. The effectiveness will be knowing the significant differences between the students who are taught without using Audio visual media and those are taught using Audio visual media. In this research, the writer uses a quantitative data analysis technique. The quantitative data of this research is analyzed by using statistical method. Data analysis techniques in quantitative research use statistics. The statistics used in this study are data analysis with descriptive statistics and data analysis with inferential statistics. After statistical calculations a conclusion was obtained that there is a significant effect of CoComelon audio visual learning media on students’ vocabulary learning at fourth grade students of SDN Pulo 1 Ciruas. The result of paired sample between score of pretest and posttest sig. 0.00 < 0.05 (H1 accepted). Thus, it can be said that CoComelon audio visual learning media gave significant effect on students’ vocabulary learning

Abstract

Reading comprehension and reading habit are two interrelated and inseparable concepts. Reading comprehension is the foundation of reading. The purpose of this study is to answer the problem of how the correlation of reading habits with the reading ability of junior high school students. This research took place in SMP Negeri 3 Kramatwatu. This study uses a quantitative approach by using survey research methods used through SPSS statistical tests. The instruments used in this study are reading habit questionnaire and reading comprehension test. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kramatwatu which amounted to 258 students. The sample used was 32 students with the sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling. The results of this study indicate a correlation between students' reading habits and reading ability. The results of statistical analysis using the product moment correlation formula indicate that the rcount value is equal to 0.793 and the rtable at a significant level of 0.05 is 0.349, then rcount > rtable. So that rcount is greater than rtable, it can be concluded that the Ho hypothesis is rejected and H1 is accepted. This shows that students' reading habits are one of the components that determine students' reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research will describe about implementation of bilingual for learning. This research aims to describe of bilingual learning at inclusive elementary school students. The researcher will use a descriptive qualitative. Students At Mutiara Bunda Inclusive Elementary school provided equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their multifaceted differences, and where the system adapts to the needs of each child. Bilingual learning at Mutiara Bunda School takes the form of basic language learning such as learning vocabulary and basic conversations and is to taught to students gradually.

Abstract

The primary issue in this study is junior high school students’ low English-speaking skills, which are brought on by a lack of vocabulary, communication anxiety, and conventional teacher-centered learning methods that only concentrate on grammar. This study investigated into how students' speaking skills was influenced by combining peer tutoring and authentic assessment techniques. In order to get a comprehensive picture of effectiveness, a mixed method was employed, which blends qualitative and quantitative methodologies using correlational study. As many of 178 students of seventh graders of Junior High School in Serang District as the research population with sample of 69 students (grades VII-A and VII-C) was chosen by simple random sampling. A Questionnaires, interviews, observations, and speaking performance evaluation rubrics with both linguistic and non-linguistic components were used as data gathering tools. The research results show that the integration of peer tutoring and authentic assessment has a positive and significant effect on students' speaking skills (F-count= 35.953; Sig.<0.05) with an R Square value of 0.521 or 52.1%. The implications of this research provide pedagogical alternatives for teachers to create participatory, communicative, and student-centered learning to prepare practical competencies in the real world.
