Abstract

The technology for extracting chitin from shell and other materials needs to be continuously improved, including its conversion to chitosan. Chitosan is a biocompatible polymer, biodegradable, non-toxic, water-soluble at pH below 6.5, and it has protonated amino groups. The benefits of chitosan in industry, food and medicine make it necessary to fully study an efficient chitosan synthesis method and the results can be applied on an industrial scale. This study examined the effect of ultrasonic-assisted in increasing the degree of deacetylation of chitosan produced from Portunus pelagicus shell waste. The production process of chitosan goes through the stages of deproteination, demineralization and deacetylation. All these steps are ultrasound assisted processes with a frequency of 40 kHz through a digital ultrasonic cleaner. Ultrasonic-assisted chitin and chitosan were examined using FTIR spectrometry. The results showed that the ultrasonic method was able to increase the deacetylation degree of chitin with a value of 68.45±0.11% compared to 62.52±0.08% without ultrasonic. Application of ultrasonic assisted deacetylation gave a deacetylation degree of 85.35 ± 0.20%, higher than without ultrasonic 80.24 ± 0.19%.  Physically, ultrasonic-assisted chitosan is smoother and brighter in color. The ultrasonic-assisted chitosan manufacturing method could increase the deacetylation degree and produce high grade chitosan.

Abstract

Lemongrass leaves (Cymbopogon citratus) contain saponins that can form foam in water so that they are used as natural compounds that produce foam used in industry. The purpose of this study was to provide the effect of variations in PVP concentrations of 2%, 3% and 4% on the physical characteristics, physical stability and detergenation ability of effervescent detergent tablets of lemongrass leaf extract (Cymbopogon citratus). This study used the maceration extraction method with 96% ethanol and the manufacture of effervescent tablets by the wet granulation method. The results of the characterization and stability study of effervescent tablets of lemongrass leaf extract with variations in PVP concentration showed that the tablets met the requirements for characterization testing of effervescent tablets before and after stability. Based on the results of the foam height test on effervescent tablets before and after stability did not affect the high foam with the results of F1, F2, F3 after stability of 86.56 ± 0.34; 86.56 ± 0.34; 88.20 ± 2.28. This study shows that PVP affects the characteristics and stability of tablets but does not affect the detergent ability of effervescent detergent tablets.

Abstract

Risk is a state of uncertainty and can be measured quantitatively. Every service activity in the Pharmacy Installation contains risk. Risk management is a process of identifying, measuring, analyzing, and handling risks that may arise during service delivery. The implementation of risk management is expected to reduce and or eliminate losses incurred for the continuity of health services. This study aims to determine the implementation of risk management in the Pharmacy Installation of the Regional General Hospital Dr. R. Soedjati Soemodiardjo Purwodadi Grobogan. This research is a non-experimental research with descriptive method, namely retrospective data collection with total sampling technique. Samples were taken from the Quality Control Agency at the Regional General Hospital Dr. R. Soedjati Soemodiardjo Purwodadi Grobogan in the January-December 2020 period. The data obtained were tabulated, presented, and reported in percentage form for further qualitative and quantitative analysis. From the research results obtained, it is known that the most common type of incident is KPC in the prescription service category. This is influenced by factors including human resources, infrastructure, standard operating procedures, and formularies. The implementation of Risk Management in the Pharmacy Installation of the Regional General Hospital Dr. R. Soedjati Soemodiardjo Purwodadi Grobogan is still not effective, because it still experiences obstacles in several stages of the Risk Management process.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical services are currently developing along with increasing public awareness of the importance of health. A pharmacy is a means for carrying out pharmaceutical work and a means for serving pharmaceutical supplies to the community. One of the pharmaceutical jobs carried out in pharmacies is Drug Information Services. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between patient satisfaction in giving drugs informations for self-medication sales to customer loyalty at the Syarina Pharmacy, Semarang Regency. This research is a quantitative research using survey method. Data was collected by purposive sampling method and using the Slovin formula to determine the sample size and population. The research subjects were all customers who received drug information services on self-medication at the Syarina Pharmacy, Semarang Regency using the Pearson correlation analysis method. The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between the level of patient satisfaction and customer loyalty at the Syarina Pharmacy with siq = 0.00

Abstract

Introduction: The quality control (QC) process of a pharmaceutical company must be carried out following the Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB) guidelines. Evaluation of the QC process in the pharmaceutical industry needs to be carried out to minimize notes and risks that could affect the final results of the tests carried out. Six Sigma and risk management can be used to identify defects and risks in the quality control processes carried out. The Six Sigma and risk management methods were used in this research to improve the performance of the pharmaceutical company PT. X in the Quality Control (QC) section. Method: The method used in this research is an observational method with primary and secondary data types. Data collection is carried out by interviews, observation, and documentation that focuses on defects and risks in the QC process. Data analysis uses the Six Sigma method with DMAIC stages and SPSS 25 statistical tests. Results: results of the risk management performance values of the PT QC section. X decreased by 7.7% with a DPMO value from 328,000 to 251,200 and the Six Sigma value increased from 1.95-sigma to 2.19-sigma. Statistical analysis using the SPSS 25 chi-square method shows a value of 0.005, which means there is a difference between the risk value before and after improvement. The results of the contingency coefficient test show a value of 0.803 (close to 1), which means the data obtained has a strong relationship. The data results show an increase in the performance of the Quality Control (QC) section of PT. X which can be seen from the risk value, DPMO, and sigma value
