Abstract

Objective: Hormonal contraception can affect weight gain, but the dose of hormones contained in combination pills and injections contraceptive is so small that there is almost no influence on body weight. The aim of this study was to determine the differences in weight gain as a side effect of hormonal contraception on combination pills and injections contraceptive acceptors. Methods: The design of this study is a comparative study in which combination hormonal contraception is the independent variable and weight gain is the dependent variable. The sample in the study was taken by simple random sampling, while the population in this study were all acceptors of hormonal contraceptive pills and combination injection in Langkap village, Burneh sub-district with 151 acceptors. Data collection techniques used documentation, statistical test using chi-square and considered significant at 0,05.Results: The results showed that p <α (0,02 <0,05). This means that HO is rejected and H1 is accepted, so there is a difference in weight gain as a side effect of hormonal contraceptives for combination pill and combination injection contraceptive acceptors. Conclusion: With these results, the authors hope that people should choose contraception that is most suitable for themselves so that they can reduce complaints and side effects while using certain contraceptives.

Abstract

Objective: Back pain is an uncomfortable feeling that pregnant women often experience during the third trimester. The centre of gravity influences the enlargement of the uterus, which stretches outward. Not only that, weakening of the abdominal muscles, changes in body position, and pressure on the back are also influenced by the centre of gravity in the mother's stomach. As a result, the pregnant woman's back will be pulled backwards, and the pregnant woman will arch her neck. This posture causes the lower back to curve and pulls the back muscles, causing pain. Endorphin massage is a massage that stimulates the body to generate endorphin compounds as pain relievers. The research aims to understand and determine the effect of endorphin massage on the intensity of back pain in third-trimester pregnant women. Methods: The method used in this research is the systematic literature review method using the Google Scholar and Research database. The procedure for collecting articles is from quantitative research journals from the last ten years & has a minimum index of Sinta 5. Articles from research journals are searched using the keywords "Endorphin Massage" AND "Pregnant Women". After the article you are looking for matches, the keyword appears; it is then selected again so that five articles are found. Results: Of the five articles, most of them discussed the impact of complementary therapy, significantly endorphin massage, which can minimise back pain felt by pregnant women, and the results showed that there was an influence of endorphin massage on pregnant women in the third trimester. Conclusion: From this literature review research, it can be concluded that endorphin massage influences reducing the intensity of back pain in third-trimester pregnant women

Abstract

Objective: Dysmenorrhea is a condition of pain or pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation that can interfere with the teaching and learning process, which is most often found in female students. Efforts to relieve pain usually only focus on drugs (pharmacology), while non-pharmacological treatment can also be done, one of which is using deep breathing relaxation techniques. This study was to determine the effect of health education on deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce dysmenorrhea pain on female students' knowledge at SMP Pawiyatan Surabaya. Methods: This study used a quasy experimental design with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The number of samples is 75 respondents. The population of this study were all female students at SMP Pawiyatan who were menstruating by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using knowledge questionnaire sheets and Guttman scales. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test; the test results showed an asymp. Sign (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05 so that the data was accepted. Namely, there was an influence between before and after health education on deep breathing relaxation techniques. The results of knowledge before being given education were good at 36%, and after being provided education, they were good at 82.7%. Results: This shows that there is an increase in student knowledge before and after with a difference of 46.7%, and a significant result is obtained of 0.000 <0.05 (p-value = 0.000 <0.05) Conclusion: Ho is rejected, which means there is an influence of technical health education, such as deep breathing relaxation, to reduce dysmenorrhea pain on female students' knowledge at SMP Pawiyatan Surabaya. With this research, it is hoped that female students can implement deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce dysmenorrhea pain in everyday life.
