Abstract

Geometry is a branch of mathematics that deals with shapes and dimensions. In learning geometry it is not uncommon for students to experience difficulties and mistakes in understanding concepts. Motivation is an important factor that needs to be considered so that students remain enthusiastic in the learning process of geometry. Motivation becomes a driving force and trigger for students to be active in the learning process. This research aims to provide a portrait of the motivational condition of junior high school students in learning geometry. This research is quantitative descriptive. The research was conducted on 136 junior high school students who were randomly selected from 3 different cities, namely Medan, Tulungagung and Lombok. The data collection technique was carried out using a motivational questionnaire instrument. Data analysis was performed with descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this research indicate that junior high school students' motivation in learning geometry is high with a score of 3.96 on a scale of 1-5.

Abstract

Learning independence is something that plays a very important role in improving student learning outcomes, so that both educators and other parties must pay attention to the learning independence possessed by students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of student learning independence on learning outcomes in online learning. The method used in this research is SLR (Systematic Literature Review). In this study identification, assessment, and description of the results of the research will be carried out. In this study the researcher will review and systematically identify articles/journals which at each stage are in accordance with what has been determined. Data was collected through documenting journals obtained in literature studies. The number of journals reviewed by researchers is 10 accredited national journals related to the chosen theme, sourced from Google Scholar and Mendeley. These journals are selected based on certain criteria to obtain relevant data. These criteria include (1) there is the name of the author, (2) there is a research title, and (3) Relevant. Based on the literature review that has been done, that student learning independence has an important role in improving learning outcomes, especially in today's online learning. Learning independence has a positive influence on student learning outcomes in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate career readiness towards understanding the integration of Islamic values and mathematics in prospective mathematics teacher students who are studying at Islamic tertiary institutions. This study involved 375 students consisting of 71 males (19%) and 304 females (81%). Data collection tool by providing an online questionnaire with Google Form related to demographics (place of education, age, and gender), a questionnaire about the integration of Islamic values with mathematics and a career readiness questionnaire for prospective mathematics teachers. Data analysis using part analysis with SPSS. The results showed that there was no direct influence between understanding the integration of Islamic values and mathematics on the competence and career readiness of future mathematics teachers at Islamic tertiary institutions. Students tend to find it difficult to say that between religion and mathematics teachers who are most responsible for teaching mathematics with Islamic values. They are not sure of the competence they have to relate the content of Islamic values to mathematics. In the realm of professional competence, students feel confused about how to start teaching the relationship between Islamic values and learning mathematics in class and when the application is taught.

Abstract

21st century education requires the integration of six competencies (6C) into the classroom. Because it is important to equip students with better skills. This survey examines the problems faced by mathematics teachers in integrating 21st century pedagogic 6Cs into integrated mathematics skills, and solutions to overcome these problems. This qualitative study collected data through questionnaires from 15 mathematics teachers spread across eight different schools. As a result, low student motivation, difficulties in integrating several skills, difficulties in time management, lack of understanding of student concepts, and difficulties in making lesson plans, as well as limited teaching materials. To overcome this problem, we integrate ideas based on providing videos (it's much better if you use/design videos yourself to suit the characteristics and interests of students), group work, providing private discussion rooms by watshapp, providing short material summaries with narration so that language is easy for students to understand, use timers to manage time, and ask for references and exchanges. Make lesson plans with other teachers.

Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical representation is the ability of students to explore and use mathematical ideas explicitly. This study aimed to learn about the effectiveness of the Mastery Learning Assessment Model (MLAM) in mathematics learning at the Assyfa Learning Center Foundation Pasuruan, which then described students' abilities in solving mathematical representation problems evaluated from mathematical dispositions. MLAM is based on repeating a similar assessment through an overhaul of mastery learning from previous researchers. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. In the study presented here, 20 subjects were pooled and surveyed using a continuous assessment tool based on high, low, and moderate math ability. The results showed that almost all students could use representational images to solve mathematical problems, create mathematical models, and solve problems related to mathematical expressions. On the other hand, most students could not complete the two indicators of mathematical representation, namely making sketches and mathematical models based on the given situation and data. This result is indicated by the 75 percent of students who completed this lesson. Based on the Teaching Evaluation (TER) results, most students are also satisfied with this approach. It is expected that the MLAM assessment can improve students' mathematical representation skills.
