Abstract

Project-oriented company possess unique characteristics including high work dynamics and uncertainty that require different approaches in understanding employee performance determinants. This study aims to analyze how transformational leadership and workplace environment contribute to employee performance, while also investigating the mediating role of work motivation among employees at PT HJS, a construction and industrial estate development company in Batam, Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative explanatory approach using a census sampling technique involving 100 employees from five operational divisions. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using SEM-PLS through SmartPLS 4.0. Mediation testing was conducted using specific indirect effects analysis. The findings revealed that transformational leadership (β = 0.158; p = 0.263) and work environment (β = 0.008; p = 0.962) had no significant direct effect on employee performance. However, both factors significantly enhanced work motivation (TL → WM: β = 0.431; p < 0.001; WE → WM: β = 0.443; p < 0.001), which subsequently improved employee performance (WM → EP: β = 0.388; p = 0.013). Mediation analysis confirmed that work motivation fully mediated the relationship between work environment and employee performance and mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. These findings enrich Organizational Behavior literature by demonstrating that in project-oriented company contexts, the influence of organizational factors on performance is entirely transmitted through motivational processes, differing from findings in conventional organizations. Practically, management is advised to prioritize motivation enhancement programs as the primary strategy for improving performance of employee.

Abstract

This study reveals that positive emotions triggered by hedged shopping motives and digital buzz from eWOM significantly boost shoppers' urge for spur-of-the-moment purchases at Sociolla. Using SmartPLS-driven Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the analysis of survey data on active Sociolla users uncovers direct and indirect links: hedonic drives and eWOM both spark positive feelings and directly fuel impulse buys, while positive emotions fully bridge the path from these drivers to uncontrolled spending. To quantitatively probe this dynamic, the study surveyed Sociolla's regular customers using structured questionnaires. Ultimately, it highlights how digital chatter and pleasure-seeking impulses cultivate feel-good states that propel snap buying decisions. The limitation of this study lies in the sampling process, which only focuses on Sociolla consumers in the Jabodetabek area. Practically, this research provides implications for Sociolla and other digital beauty industry players to strengthen enjoyable shopping experiences and improve the quality of electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) through authentic consumer review. Theoretically, this study enriches the consumer behavior literature by validating the mediating function of positive emotions. It connects hedonic motivation and digital information exposure to impulse buying in the beauty e-commerce ecosystem.

Abstract

The solar panel industry in Indonesia is experiencing significant growth in line with increasing energy needs and awareness of renewable energy. However, consumers' purchasing decisions are not only influenced by economic and technical factors, but also by the dynamics of digital communication. This study aims to analyze the influence of Price Perception and Product Quality on Purchase Intention, with Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) as a mediating variable. The study used a quantitative approach through an online survey of 282 respondents, analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. The results of the study show that Price Perception has a positive and significant effect on E-WOM and Purchase Intention, while Product Quality does not have a significant direct effect on E-WOM and Purchase Intention. E-WOM has been shown to play a significant role in increasing Purchase Intention and mediating the relationship between Price Perception and Purchase Intention. The novelty of this research lies in the affirmation of the role of E-WOM as the main mechanism in explaining purchase intention toward solar panels in Indonesia, where the influence of experience and digital recommendations is more dominant than the perception of product quality alone. These findings provide strategic implications for industry players to optimize price value communication and digital reputation management to increase renewable energy adoption intentions.
