In the training stage, the teachers were given materials on the basic concepts of storytelling, vocal techniques, the use of props, and the selection of suitable stories for children. Furthermore, in the practice stage, the participants practiced the techniques they had learned. The last stage, monitoring and evaluation, assessed the teachers' understanding and ability to apply the storytelling technique in the classroom. The results of this activity show that the teachers understand the  storytelling technique well and are able to apply it effectively in teaching and learning activities. Abstract

One of the basic skills in a foreign language is the ability to read. The purpose of reading is to understand, analyze and explore the contents of the reading material they read. By reading we can more quickly master a foreign language. Academic reading courses are offered in the English Language Education study program as a provision for students to be able to understand academic texts which will be very useful later to enrich their knowledge and will also help them when writing scientific papers such as articles and theses. To be able to study online or outside of main lecture hours, students must have control over their learning process and be responsible for what and how they learn the foreign language (Merriam & Bierema, 2013). This learning strategy is known as Self-Directed learning. Learning with Self-Directed learning can increase students' knowledge, abilities and achievements in learning in the way they choose. This strategy is a mental process that is followed and supported by identifying and searching for information (Suknaisith, 2014).

Abstract

This community service program is intended to enhance preschool teachers' skills in using gamified language learning for teaching English to young learners at Kindercyl Learning Space. The program was created to encourage teachers who had limited experience using digital tools in their language class. The program included training, hands-on practice, simulated lessons, and mentoring, all using digital tools like Quizizz, Kahoot, and Canva. The results showed that teachers improved a lot in making interactive teaching resources and using student-centered, engaging methods in class. They became more creative, worked better together, and were better at using technology to provide meaningful learning experiences. Also, the program encouraged stronger teamwork between teachers, students, and partner schools, connecting classroom practice with academic theory. Abstract

One of the best strategies to support listening comprehension is note-taking strategy. In this study, students' perceptions of the benefits and challenges of using note-taking strategies were explored especially in Intensive Listening class. A mixed-methods approach was used involving 28 first-semester students in the English Language Education Department at the University of Bengkulu. Quantitative data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire adapted from Dunkel and Davy (1989) which consist of 19 questions in 3 subparts, while qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews. Findings of the study indicate that students view note-taking positively, as it helps them capture main ideas, organize information, reduce cognitive load, and increase focus during listening activities. Students also believe that note-taking strategy improves their performance on listening tasks and exams. However, challenges such as limited English proficiency, difficulty multitasking while listening, and a lack of effective note-taking techniques were identified. This study demonstrates the need for explicit instruction in note-taking strategies to maximize their effectiveness in Intensive Listening classes.
