Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of social media usage on mathematics learning achievement among students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Nurul Jadid University. In the digital era, social media has become an integral part of students’ academic lives. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. Data were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 28 sixth-semester students and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results of the normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed and suitable for further analysis. The regression analysis revealed that social media usage had a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.747 and a determination coefficient of 55.8%. This means that more than half of the variance in learning achievement can be explained by the intensity of social media usage. These findings suggest that productive and focused use of social media can enhance conceptual understanding, active engagement in discussions, and overall learning effectiveness in mathematics. Therefore, the integration of social media into the learning process must be supported by digital literacy and guided by lecturers to prevent it from becoming a distraction.

Abstract

In the learning process, creating an environment or learning atmosphere that stimulates active participation of students is very important, because students will find it easier to understand the concepts taught when they are actively involved. This study aims to determine the extent to which learning media using the quizizz application affects mathematics education students. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach on 37 students, data was collected through a questionnaire. The results of the validity and reliability tests of the instrument show the feasibility of the data. The residual normality test indicates a normal data distribution. However, the linearity test revealed that the relationship between learning interest and Quizizz results was non-linear. Simple linear regression analysis shows that the use of Quizizz does not have a significant effect on students' learning interest (Sig. 0.408> 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.020 indicates that only 2.0% of the variation in learning interest can be explained by Quizizz, confirming that the linear model is not suitable to describe this relationship. Thus, it is concluded that Quizizz-based learning media does not significantly affect students' learning interest in the context of the linear model tested

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Wordwall-based educational game media in mathematics learning on students' learning motivation. The method used was a descriptive quantitative approach through a learning motivation questionnaire. The respondents involved were 35 eighth-grade students of SMP Plus Tahdzibun Nasyiin. The results of the data analysis resulted in the conclusion that almost all students were able to accept this learning method. This is indicated by almost all students having high to very high learning motivation. This conclusion indicates that the use of Wordwall media has a positive impact on increasing student learning motivation.

Abstract

Social media is often used to communicate, share information, and fill free time. Its use can affect student learning achievement, with varying impacts depending on the context and research method. The purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth analysis related to the influence of social media use on students' mathematics learning achievement in phase-E at SMA Negeri 1 Gamping. In its implementation, this study involved 30 students selected as a sample to represent the population. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method to reveal the relationship between the intensity of social media use and students' mathematics learning outcomes in more detail and objectively, the results of the analysis show a significant relationship between social media use and student learning achievement, with a calculated t value > t table (21.771 > 2.048) and a sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that the use of social media has an impact on students' mathematics learning achievement

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material through the implementation of peer tutoring strategies in class XI MA Islamiyah Syafi'iyah. This study uses the Kurt Lewin Classroom Action Research (CAR) model which is implemented in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 29 students, and data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle. Data analysis was carried out using the N-Gain calculation to determine the improvement in learning outcomes between cycles. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy. The average N-Gain value in cycle I was 0.53 (52.84%) with a moderate category, increasing in cycle II to 0.79 (79.45%) with a high category. This increase indicates that the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy is effective in improving conceptual understanding, student activeness, and mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material. Thus, the peer tutoring strategy can be used as an effective and interactive learning alternative to help students understand mathematics material more deeply.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving students’ learning outcomes on the topic of function transformation through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Grade XII of MA Islamiyah Syafi’iyah during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 19 students. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection instruments included learning achievement tests and observation sheets for both student and teacher activities. The success indicator of this study was determined if at least 75% of the students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75, and there was an improvement in the average learning outcome in each cycle. The results showed that students’ learning outcomes improved after the implementation of the PBL model. In Cycle I, the percentage of students who achieved mastery was 52.63% with an average score of 72.11. After the improvements made in Cycle II, the mastery percentage increased to 84.21% with an average score of 79.32. These findings indicate that the Problem Based Learning model can effectively enhance students’ learning outcomes on the topic of function transformation. In conclusion, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes, particularly in function transformation material, as it encourages student activeness, develops critical thinking skills, and facilitates conceptual understanding through contextual problem-solving activities.
