Abstract

Physics education at the junior high school level is often faced withdifficulties in approaching students with abstract concepts. Project-basedlearning modules are considered a contextual and relevant approach toeveryday life, allowing students to learn actively through project activities. Thisresearch uses the natural observation method involving physics teachers andstudents of SMPN 4 Metro. The natural observation method in itsimplementation uses observation sheet instruments and interview sheets.This article optimizes the concept of optimizing the project-based learningmodule which is used as an effective strategy in helping understand conceptsin physics learning at SMPN 4 Metro. The results of the literature review showthat students' understanding of physics concepts will increase and beeffective if physics learning uses project-based modules. This needs to beoptimized in its application to learning as a learning resource. So there is aneed for further studies and research regarding the effectiveness andimplementation of modules and projects in physics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji bagaimana pemanfaatan Game Wayground dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika pada siswa kelas XII A IPA di MA Islamiyah Syafi’iyah. Ketertarikan terhadap topik ini muncul karena sebagian siswa masih menganggap matematika sebagai pelajaran yang menegangkan dan sulit dipahami, sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan dekat dengan dunia mereka. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, berfokus pada kondisi nyata yang terjadi di kelas XII A IPA yang berjumlah 33 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung selama proses pembelajaran, wawancara dengan beberapa siswa dan guru matematika, serta dokumentasi aktivitas belajar. Pendekatan ini dipilih agar peneliti dapat memahami pengalaman belajar siswa secara lebih mendalam dan menggambarkan perubahan motivasi yang terjadi setelah penggunaan Game Wayground. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Game Wayground mampu membawa perubahan positif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Suasana kelas menjadi lebih hidup, siswa lebih berani berpartisipasi, dan tampak lebih percaya diri dalam menyelesaikan soal. Guru juga menilai bahwa media ini membantu siswa lebih fokus dan terlibat aktif dibandingkan pembelajaran tradisional. Dengan demikian, Game Wayground dapat menjadi alternatif media yang efektif dalam mendorong motivasi belajar matematika di tingkat MA.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material through the implementation of peer tutoring strategies in class XI MA Islamiyah Syafi'iyah. This study uses the Kurt Lewin Classroom Action Research (CAR) model which is implemented in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 29 students, and data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle. Data analysis was carried out using the N-Gain calculation to determine the improvement in learning outcomes between cycles. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy. The average N-Gain value in cycle I was 0.53 (52.84%) with a moderate category, increasing in cycle II to 0.79 (79.45%) with a high category. This increase indicates that the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy is effective in improving conceptual understanding, student activeness, and mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material. Thus, the peer tutoring strategy can be used as an effective and interactive learning alternative to help students understand mathematics material more deeply.
