Abstract

A decrease in the intensity of dye Remazol Red RB 133 in batik waste with electrocoagulation method using electrodes aluminum and stainless steel has been done. Analysis was performed using a spectrophotometer Visibel. The results showed that the optimum effect of adding NaCl at a concentration 7 g/L with degradation was 84.95% percent, optimum contact time 60 minutes with degradation was 86.36%, stronger optimum voltage 12 Volts with degradation was 94.31% and pH optimum at pH 4 with degradation was 96.86%. Electrocoagulation in optimum condition dye Remazol Red RB 133 produces an average degradation was 96.41%, and electrocoagulation of batik waste obtained an average degradation was 91.38%.

Abstract

A research on the analysis of metals Fe, Cu, Pb, and Zn in lubricating oils new Turbolube 32 and used using X-Ray Fluorescence aims to determine the differences in levels of Fe, Cu, Pb and Zn in the lubricating oil of new and used and know their the effect of duration of use of used lubricating oil to elevated levels of metals Fe, Cu, Pb and Zn in compressors operating system F4K-3. Lubricating oils are used to reduce friction and wear two metal surfaces, the existence and the increase of heavy metals in lubricating oils indicated the occurrence of wear and tear on the engine compressor. From the research, it can be concluded the difference between new and used lubricating oil, lubricating oil does not contain metal new Fe, Pb and Zn but contains Cu amounted to 25.36 mg / L. In Used oil contains metals Fe, Cu and Zn with elevated levels of various metals iron (Fe) 6.243 mg / L, metal Copper (Cu) 41.260 mg / L and zinc (Zn) 32 469 mg / L except metals Lead (Pb) there is no difference between New and Used Lubricating Oil is still 0:00 mg / L or below the Lower Limit of Detection XRF 5.3 mg / L. using Simple Linear Regression correlation coefficient lows of iron (Fe) 0913 and the highest zinc (Zn) 0969 this suggests there is a relationship between duration of use of lubricating oil in the compressor with elevated levels of metals iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn). Improved metals in used lubricating oil indicates the wear and tear on the compressor engines except metal Lead (Pb) no elevated levels of metals.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang penurunan kadar linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) dalam limbah laundry menggunakan abu sekam padi telah dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kinerja adsorpsi dari abu sekam padi dengan optimasi pH, berat, waktu kontak, konsentrasi dan kapasitas pada proses adsorpsi. Rendemen abu sekam padi yang diperoleh sebesar 28,58 %. Kondisi optimum penjerapan pada 2 mg/L linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) sebanyak 150 mL menggunakan 0,4 g abu sekam padi yaitu pada pH 5 dalam waktu 30 menit dengan kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum 3,894 mg/g. Hasil penurunan kadar LAS pada limbah laundry dari 1,8661 mg/L menjadi 0,465 mg/L ppm yaitu sebesar 75,013 %.

Abstract

Durian Lai (Durio kutejensis) merupakan buah lokal Kalimantan. Sejauh ini biji buah lai belum dimanfaatkan hanya dibuang begitu saja sebagai limbah, kandungan karbohidrat yang tinggi mencapai 47,6 %. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi amonium sulfat dan waktu fermentasi terbaik terhadap kadar bioetanol yang dihasilkan. Proses hidrolisisi pati dilakukan secara  enzimatis melalui tahap liquifikasi dan sakarifikasi dengan menggunakan enzim alfa-amilase dan glukolase yang akan mengkonversi pati menjadi glukosa. Glukosa hasil hidrolisis ditambahkan amonium sulfat sebagai sumber nutrisi dengan variasi 0,1 %; 0,3 % dan 0,5 % (b/v) kemudian difermentasi menggunakan jamur Saccharomyces cereviceaea dengan variasi waktu 4, 5 dan 6 hari. Pemurnian bioetanol dilakukan dengan proses destilasi. Analisa kadar etanol menggunakan kromatografi gas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan nutrisi amonium sulfat yang paling optimum adalah 0,3 % (b/v) dan waktu fermentasi yang optimum adalah 6 hari dengan kadar etanol sebesar 9,403 %. Kata Kunci : Biji lai (Durio kutejensis), ammonium sulfat, fermentasi, bioetanol

Abstract

Research on the adsorption of cadmium metal ions (Cd2+) using activated adsorbent from Kepok banana peel powder (Musa paradisiaca L.) has been carried out. Determination of the functional groups contained in the adsorbent used Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) instruments indicate the presence of O-H, C-O and N-H groups. Characterization of pores in the adsorbent using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) instruments that show the occurence of pore and cavity enlargement on the surface of the adsorbent, as well as the appearance of finer topography after the activation process. The result of this study indicate that the adsorbent of Kepok banana peel powder can absorb cadmium metal ions (Cd2+) with the best absorption occurs at optimum conditions pH 5, 60 minutes contact time and a concentration of 1.5 ppm. The adsorption capacity of the adsorbent of Kepok banana peel powder at the optimum conditions is 0.04991 mg/g.

Abstract

The research was performed about interferes between of ion Pb2+ and Fe2+ on electrodeposition of ion Cadmium (Cd) in the water sample with electrode Al-Al. Electrolysis on solution 3CdSO4. 8H2O with three parameters, like time variation of electrolysis, influence variation of concentration Pb2+ ions and  influence of mix variation concentration of ions Pb2+ and Fe2+. The results showed that the longer electrolysis, more metal deposition on the electrode. Based on observation, variation the number level of metals Cadmium (Cd) that deposition on the electrode was up 83.62 % on 120 minutes. The variations of addition of ion Pb2+ (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg/L) obtained percent decrease in the level of disruption to in a solution of ion Cadmium (Cd) with average 21.53 % with every addition concentration of disruptor ion Pb2+ give influence 0.21 %. The variations of the addition disruptor ion Pb2+ and Fe2+ (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg/L) obtained percent decrease of disruption in solution of ion Cadmium (Cd) with result 18.46 %, with each addition of ion Pb2+ and Fe2+ obtained 0.96 %. This showed that the addition of the ion disruptor on proccess electrodeposition  given influence on Cadmium (Cd) electrodeposition itself, but for every addition of concentration given less significant effects. Keywords: Electrodeposition, electrode Al-Al and decrease percentace.

Abstract

Research on the decline in BOD and TSS from waste chili sauce with electrocoagulation method using electrodes Fe, Cu and stainless stell in decreased amount of BOD and TSS. Conducted to determine the optimum point of each parameter based on the reaction of the electrocoagulation process on waste samples of chili sauce by using a variation of time and variation of voltage. The results obtained show that the effect of time is obtained optimum time of 120 minutes with vigorous optimum voltage of 12 volts to the decreased amount of BOD and TSS, respectively for 10.7577 mg/L and 18 mg/L with the results of successive allowance for 99.17% and 98.36% for electrode Fe and stainless stell. And decreased amount of BOD and TSS respectively for 8.2482 mg/L and 296 mg/L with the preliminary results of a row of 99.36% and 73.09% for the electrode Fe and Cu. With initial values of BOD and TSS each of 1301.4010 mg/L and 1100 mg/L.
