Abstract

This study aims to find out the roles of Dayah as an Islamic educational institution in providing understanding and awareness for Acehnese regarding the implementation of Islamic law in Aceh. This study uses a qualitative research method with a multi-case study approach. The locus of research is three Islamic boarding schools (dayah) in Aceh with three different models. Data was taken from documentation and in-depth interviews with students and teachers at related institutions. The sampling technique used a combination of purposive and snowball techniques. Data collection uses in-depth interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis uses an interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman. Triangulation techniques are used to ensure the validity of the data. The results of this study indicate that dayah education has at least two main roles. First, the role of creating a society that can accept Islamic law properly. Second, the role of forming a government that can create Islamic Sharia regulations that follow the culture of the Acehnese. For public education, this can be channeled by transferring understanding from teungku dayah to teungku imum through the Aceh government as an intermediary. Dayah alumni can also help in terms of the role of public education with da'wah via behavior, speech, and writing. Practically, the dayah teacher plays a role in implementing Islamic law in four roles: teacher, practitioner of sharia, observer, and mentor. In conclusion, Islamic education in Aceh has two key roles: shaping society to follow Islamic law and adapting Sharia regulations to Acehnese culture. Recommendations include seeking guidance from qualified clerics, and stakeholders should prioritize their roles in achieving this. Future research on Aceh's Islamic law should consider local socio-religious and socio-cultural factors.

Abstract

The problem of inequality in the distribution of education in Indonesia is the cause of obtaining quality and learning opportunities. This causes a difference in the quality of education and the chances of future success. This article aims to analyze various views of sociologists regarding the issue of educational equity, specifically by using the approach of Emile Durekheim, Max Weber, George Herbert Mead, Louis Althusser, and Ibn Khaldun. This research is a meta-analysis of social problems using approaches from various social theories. Data is taken from library sources as primary data in the form of articles from scientific journals and related books. Document analysis procedures were used in data collection. The data analysis technique uses the meta-analysis model. The process of implementing research is carried out on related documents. The results of the research show that Durkheim views that education must create social unity and form the same values throughout society. Meanwhile, Weber believes that access to education must be regulated fairly and everyone has the same opportunity to access it without the influence of economic factors. Meanwhile, Mead views that education has the ability to understand yourself and shape yourself to be able to interact with society. Louis Althusser on the other hand argues that education should be able to maintain elite power and control society. It is different with Ibn Khaldun who views that the education system must be adapted to the conditions and needs of the local community.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is a psychological construct that plays a crucial role in athletic achievement, as it reflects athletes’ belief in their ability to face challenges in both training and competition. This study aimed to examine the construct validity of the Athlete Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) in the Indonesian context. A Bayesian-based Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) approach was applied to data from 316 athletes (158 male, 158 female) representing 33 sports disciplines across 21 provinces. The results confirmed that a four-factor model—Sport Discipline Efficacy, Psychological Efficacy, Professional Thought Efficacy, and Personality Efficacy—provided the best fit (BRMSEA = 0.073, BCFI = 0.926, BTLI = 0.910, BNFI = 0.881), indicating strong construct validity and good reliability. These findings demonstrate that the Indonesian version of ASES is a valid and adaptable measurement tool for assessing athletes’ psychological resources. However, this study has several limitations, including its cross-sectional design, the absence of measurement invariance testing, and the relatively homogeneous cultural background of participants, which may restrict generalizability. Future studies should adopt longitudinal designs and test invariance across gender, age, and sport types to strengthen the instrument’s applicability. Despite these limitations, the validated scale carries significant social implications, offering coaches, sport psychologists, and policymakers a culturally relevant tool to design interventions, enhance athlete development programs, and foster mental resilience in Indonesian athletes.
