Abstract

The development of science and technology has become very sophisticated, where science and technology has had a significant impact on various areas of life, especially education. In this modern era, teachers must be able to take advantage of developments in technology and information in learning, for example using it as a learning medium to convey learning material to students. In fact, in schools the use of learning media to attract students' attention has not been implemented effectively and efficiently. So this research aims to develop a valid, practical and effective problem-based e-Module on temperature and heat material to train students higher order thinking skills. This research uses the Design and Development Research type of research which consists of four research stages, namely analysis, design, development, and evaluation using assessments of validity tests, practicality tests consisting of readability tests, student response tests, and perception tests. teachers, the effectiveness test consists of a normality test, N-Gain, and Paired Sample T-Test. In the validity test results, an average score of 3.50 was obtained in the very valid category. The results of the practicality test in the readability test obtained an average score of 82.64, which was categorized as very readable, in the student response test, an average score of 82.7 was obtained, which was categorized as very good, and in the teacher perception test, an average score of 83,3 was obtained which is categorized as very good. Meanwhile, for the effectiveness test based on the results of the students' N-Gain pretest-posttest, an average score of 0.45 was obtained in the medium category.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a simple Boyle's law practicum equipment that can be used to train science process skills in learning the concept of Boyle's law in schools. This research uses the Design and Development Research development model adapted from Richey and Klien with stages namely analyze, design, development, and evaluation.. The practicum equipment developed is declared feasible to use if it has passed the validity test and practicality assessment.. The validity test obtained a percentage of 88% with a very valid category.. Practicality assessment is represented through teacher perception, students response, and analysis of science process skills.. The results of teacher perception obtained a percentage of 83% with a very practical category. The results of students' responses obtained a percentage of 90% with a very practical category. The analysis of science process skills obtained a percentage of 87% with a very good category. Based on the validity test and practicality assessment that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the practicum equipment developed is suitable to be applied to train science process skills in learning the concept of Boyle's law in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a practicum tools with assisted by the ESP-32 camera sensor which can be used in learning the matter of light interference at school, as well as to train science process skills. This research uses a Design and Development Research (DDR) approach, which is divided into three stages, that are analysis, design and development, and eval_uation. Before this practicum tool is used in the field to help the learning process, this practicum tool is tested for feasibility first. The feasibility test of the practicum tools for the matter of light interference was carried out using a validity test and practicality test. The results of the practicum tools validity test obtained a percentage of 86% with a very valid category and the indicator for the usefulness of practicum tools in science process skills was 81%. The results of the practicality test obtained a percentage of 84% in the very practicality category. Based on these two feasibility tests, it can be concluded that the practicum tool is suitable for use in learning the matter of light interference at school, and can train students' science process skills. Indicators of scientific process skills that are trained are observing, communicating, controlling variables, hypothesizing, experimentation, and interpreting data.

Abstract

Project-based learning (PjBL) is increasingly recognised in science education in Indonesia as a strategy to improve students' higher order thinking skills and real-world problem solving. This article analyses the trends and patterns of PjBL research in Indonesia from 2020 to 2024 using a bibliometric approach. Research data were collected from Google Scholar, Crossref, and OpenAlex databases, then analysed descriptively qualitatively and visualised using VOSviewer. The results of the analysis showed that the majority of studies were experimental (68.36%), focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of PjBL in improving learning outcomes and critical thinking skills, particularly in the context of higher education and digital technology integration. The implementation of PjBL is considered effective in fostering students' creativity, motivation and 21st century competencies. However, there are still implementation challenges that require further study. Based on these findings, it is concluded that PjBL has great potential as a key approach in the Indonesian science curriculum. Therefore, further studies are needed to optimise its effectiveness and overcome the existing obstacles.

Abstract

This research purposed to determine the effectiveness of problem based learning on students critical thinking skills especially on physics material about alternative energy and its role in supporting ESD. The design used in this research is quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample are class X E as the experimental class and then class X D as the control class at SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung. The test instrument have a value from Cronbach'Alpha is 0.862. The result of average N-Gain was 0.63 with a moderate category while the average n-gain of critical thinking skills in the control class was 0.41 with a moderate category. This shows that the indicators of critical thinking skills increased significantly, the sig. Value was 0.000 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is asignificant difference between the average n-gain of critical thinking skills of students experimental class and the control class. This novelty from this research are contribution by integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) By using real-world sustainability issues as learning contexts, the study aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills in meaningful and relevant ways. The findings have practical implications for educators in designing instructional strategies to increase critical thinking and sustainability awareness. Theoretically, this research supports the role of PBL as an effective pedagogical approach for 21st-century education with the goals of sustainable development.
