This study aims to investigate the implementation of children's literature in enhancing literacy among primary school students. Using children's literature as a literacy medium represents a strategic effort to foster students' reading interest. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through observations and questionnaires distributed to educators in various regions. The findings indicate that literacy activities employing children's literature as a medium have been implemented in primary education settings, particularly in lower-grade classes. Interviews with educators in Cluster III of the Palembayan District further confirm that children's literature effectively stimulates students' reading interest. These results underline the potential of children's literature as an innovative tool to support literacy development in primary schools.

Abstract

The goal of Indonesian language learning is for students to develop the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in accordance with prevailing ethics, both orally and in writing. However, in this digital age, students have low language skills such as writing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the poetry writing ability of sixth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative research type with a quasi-experimental method. This study involved two schools as the experimental and control groups. The research instruments used are test questions and questionnaires. The research results show that the poetry text writing skills taught using the PBL model are higher than those taught using the conventional model. Second, the poetry text writing skills of highly motivated students taught using the PBL model are higher than those of highly motivated students taught using the conventional model. Third, the poetry text writing skills of low-motivated students are higher compared to students in the control class using the conventional learning model. Fourth, there is an interaction between the PBL learning model and students' learning motivation in influencing poetry text writing skills.

Abstract

The curriculum changes that occurred in Indonesia from the 2013 curriculum to the independent curriculum resulted in different approaches used in learning. The 2013 curriculum is known as a scientific approach. Meanwhile, the independent curriculum is also known as the differentiated learning approach. Unfortunately, educators experience difficulties in preparing methods and strategies that are appropriate to this differentiated learning approach. Educators are still confused about accommodating the profiles, learning styles, as well as interests and talents of students in elementary schools. This research aims to describe the analysis of educators' understanding in implementing differentiated learning in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools and describe the results of the analysis of teachers' activities in implementing differentiated learning in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools. This research design is a qualitative descriptive research design using observation techniques and filling out questionnaires. Observations were carried out during learning in several schools that were the target of the research. Meanwhile, the questionnaire technique is given by randomly distributing it to educators or elementary school teachers in various regions. The research results show that in general teachers or educators have implemented differentiated learning in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools. They have been able to create student-centered learning. In addition, the research results also highlight the need for further support and training for educators to develop the skills needed to develop and implement learning strategies that suit the individual needs of students in the classroom as well as measuring achievement in learning Indonesian. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of supporting educators in expanding the repertoire of learning strategies to increase the effectiveness of differentiated learning in basic education environments.
