The validity and reliability testing of the questionnaire was carried out by the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test, the Cronbach' Alpha Test (α) and the assessment of instrument experts. The hypothesis test of this study was carried out using a Simple Linear Regression Test. The results in this study are at a significant level showing a value of 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be said that there is a positive and significant influence of Learning Readiness on students at the Integrated Islamic Network School in Lampung Province on Critical Thinking Ability by 21.5%. The test results show that the magnitude of the correlation value (R) is 0.462 in the output of the coefficient shows a constant value (a) of 23.256 and the Regression Coefficient value (b) is 0.430 so that it can be known that the regression equation is Y= 23.256 + 0.430X.

Abstract

The coastal communities of Lampung have a tradition known as Ngumbai Lawok, which is closely tied to their livelihood as fishermen. This study aims to explore the local wisdom embedded in the Ngumbai Lawok tradition in the Lampung Coastal Regency and assess its potential as a source for teaching local history and culture. A qualitative approach, using ethnographic methods, was employed for data collection through observation, interviews, and literature review. The findings reveal that the Ngumbai Lawok tradition encompasses cultural values, including religious, social, cultural, and educational aspects. These cultural values can be integrated into history instruction, particularly for high school students in grade X, stage E. The inclusion of the Ngumbai Lawok tradition as an alternative source for local history education is essential for enhancing historical awareness and fostering a stronger sense of local identity and character among the people of Lampung. Furthermore, this study highlights the relevance of local traditions in modern education and their ability to bridge the gap between cultural heritage and contemporary learning approaches. The integration of such traditions into the curriculum can also promote a deeper understanding of the role of culture in shaping regional identity.

Abstract

This article discusses the variety of indigenous education in the Lampung Region during the Colonization Period. This study aims to reconstruct past events related to indigenous education in the Lampung Region during colonization. The results of the study show that the application of ethical politics had an impact on people's lives during the colonization period. Lampung, as one of the first colonization destinations in 1905, led to the relocation of 155 families. In the early period before the arrival of the colonists from Java, the people of Lampung had implemented a concept of education in the family with inheritance carried out by parents to their children and grandchildren. The entry of Hindu-Buddhist and Islam influenced them. The variety and education system in the Javanese and Lampung colonists experienced significant developments with the emergence of the Ethical Policy policy initiated by Van Deventer. Indigenous people's education in the Colonization area of Lampung was only obtained from First Class Schools (De Scholen der Ferste Klasse), which later developed into HIS, Second Class Schools (De Scholen Der Tweede Klasse), and Village Schools (Desaschool), or People's Schools (Volkschool) and Schools. Agricultural vocational (Landbouwsclfool or Cultuurschool) Lampung does not have ELS, Europesche Lagera School, HCS, Hollands Chinese School, or Shcakel School types of schools. Meeting the needs of secondary and vocational education is only obtained from schools in Java, Palembang, or West Sumatra because, in Lampung, there are no schools such as MULO, AMS, HBS, or Higher Education in the Dutch colonial period.
