Abstract

Learning resources are essentially anything in the form of objects, data, facts, ideas, people, and so on that can foster the learning process. Learning activities in elementary schools are still monotonous and there is no innovation in learning resources. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of E-Book media based on Problem Based Learning on the material of coffee business economic activities in class science learning. This study is a type of development research that uses the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The subjects of this study were 25 fifth grade students. The method and instrument for data collection used multiple choice objective tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique was descriptive quantitative and inferential statistics. The results of the study on the effectiveness of E-Books based on the results of the t-test obtained tcount = 14.06 for dk 48 and a significance level of 5% = 2.011. This means that tcount > ttable, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that this study shows that the development of E-Book construction based on Problem Based Learning material on coffee business economic activities in fifth grade social and science learning. The implications of this study are expected to be an example for teachers in implementing innovative learning.

Abstract

Addressing children’s emotional well-being is crucial for fostering healthy psychological development and optimizing their capacity to thrive in academic settings. However, traditional classroom routines often overlook the role of self-awareness and emotion regulation, especially for younger learners. This study aims to analyze the impact of a mindfulness-based intervention on reducing anxiety and improving self-regulation among primary school children. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving students who were assigned to either an experimental group receiving mindfulness training or a control group with no such intervention. Anxiety and self-regulation were measured using validated psychological scales before and after the intervention. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to assess the overall effect of the mindfulness program on both dependent variables. The results revealed that students who underwent mindfulness training demonstrated significantly lower levels of anxiety and improved self-regulation compared to the control group. The findings suggest that mindfulness practices help children develop greater emotional awareness, calmness, and behavioral control, contributing to their overall psychological resilience. This study underscores the value of incorporating structured mindfulness programs into early education to support both emotional and behavioral development.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low interest and participation of students in Social Science learning (IPAS) on the topic “My Proud Region”, which was caused by the use of monotonous and less interactive teaching methods. The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the effectiveness of a game-based Truth or Dare media for fifth-grade students. This research employed the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were fifth-grade students at an elementary school, totaling 25 students. Data collection methods and instruments included questionnaires and tests. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative, qualitative, and inferential descriptive techniques. The results showed that the developed media had a high level of validity, was practical for use by teachers and students, and effectively improved student engagement and material comprehension. The t-test results indicated that H₀ was rejected and H₁ accepted, leading to the conclusion that the game-based Truth or Dare media is effective for teaching the Social Science topic “My Proud Region” to fifth-grade students. The implication of this study is that simple game-based media can serve as an innovative, contextual, and enjoyable alternative for learning, particularly in Social Science subjects at the elementary school level.
