Abstract

The main function of language is to communicate. Communication is carried out by humans who are social creatures. Humans as social creatures are always required to interact with other humans. Humans are creatures created to live in contact with other people. The interaction process requires tools to communicate with other individuals. On the basis of this, what is called language variation then emerged.Language variation itself arises because of the social interaction process of various language actors. Language is one of the ghost tools to interact with other humans. All ideas, ideas, and intentions of the speaker are conveyed through language. The characteristics of language variation that occur due to differences in usage include lexicogrammatical, phonological, indicator features in the form of certain word forms, certain grammatical markers, or even phonological markers that function to give signs to language actors that this is the intended register. These markers or characteristics also distinguish one register from another.Language variations regarding their use, usage, or function are called functionalolects. These variations usually discuss the use of style, or level of formality, and means of use. The language variations used vary according to the needs and requirements in their respective fields. For example in the fields of literature, education, military, journalism, economics, trade, and others.

Abstract

The urgency of the Ternate language rorasa research is the oral tradition of the North Maluku community, especially the city of Ternate. Some of the similarities are the use of pantuns, cum-cum rorasa which are sung and contain advice in their delivery. This shows that there are similarities in several regions based on the form of the text. However, different performances are interesting and important phenomena to study because they are related to meanings that refer to the local wisdom of the Ternate region, an oral tradition in the form of storytelling art that is passed down from generation to generation.Rorasa is sung in informal situations. In informal situations, rorasa is sung at events such as weddings, deaths. In this study, researchers focus on language as a source of culture and speaking is a language practice. This study examines the meaning of the rorasa oral tradition in a particular community of the Ternate community which is an oral tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the meaning of the rorasa oral tradition and its implications for anthropolinguistic learning. (2) explain how the implications of oral tradition are on anthropolinguistic learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method. The informants in this study were the people of Ternate city, especially in Tubo sub-district. The data analysis technique used in this study is qualitative data analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze descriptively the social and cultural meanings contained in the rorasa procession as part of the Ternate traditional wedding in Tubo Village, North Ternate City District. Rorasa is one of the important traditions that contains symbolic, social, and spiritual values in the lives of the Ternate people. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach , with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with traditional figures, bridal couples, and community leaders, as well as field documentation. The results of the study show that rorasa not only functions as a traditional ritual, but also has a meaning as a reinforcement of cultural identity, strengthening social ties between families, and a means of preserving the noble values of the Ternate community , such as respect, togetherness, and social responsibility. This tradition also reflects the important position of family and community in the traditional marriage system. However, modernization and changes in lifestyle have begun to affect the implementation of rorasa, so that efforts are needed to preserve and revitalize the cultural values contained therein.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cultural meaning and structural typology of the salutation used in the various military languages of the Indonesian Navy, as well as to trace its historical development in the socio-cultural context of the Indonesian military. The military language of the Indonesian Navy has its own characteristics that reflect discipline, hierarchy, and honor values that are firmly rooted in the culture of military organizations. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a cultural, and historical linguistic approach. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and studies of official documents and military archives. The results of the study show that the salutation in the military language of the TNI AL has a social and symbolic function that affirms identity, solidarity, and hierarchical structure between members. In terms of structural typology, it was found that there was a pattern of greetings that were systematically arranged based on rank, position, and the context of formal and informal communication. Meanwhile, culturally, each form of greeting contains basic values such as loyalty, respect for superiors, and corps spirit. From a historical perspective, the use of the greeting has evolved from the influence of colonial military traditions to the formation of a national identity that is typical of Indonesia. Thus, the greeting of respect in the military language of the TNI Navy is not only a form of verbal communication, but also a reflection of cultural values, military discipline, and historical heritage that shape the character of the TNI Navy institution to this day.

Abstract

This community service activity, in the form of a guest lecture involving students of the Civics Education Study Program at the University of Lampung, aimed to analyze the integration of Civics Education, character education, and multicultural education based on green education in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity employed an educational and participatory approach through material delivery and interactive discussions. The results of this activity contributed to improving participants' understanding of the concept of citizenship and environmental character values, as well as fostering multicultural awareness and environmental concern. The activity ran smoothly and successfully, as indicated by high enthusiasm from participants in listening to the material and high interaction throughout. Furthermore, this activity can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs in the areas of quality education (SDG 4), climate (SDG 13), peace (SDG 16), and partnership (SDG 17). The integration of Civics Education, character education, and multicultural education based on green education creates a holistic and transformative learning model that addresses the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the typology of conjunctions in the regional languages of East Makian with a focus on the classification of forms, syntactic functions, and relational meanings that appear in the use of language by students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP Khairun University. The East Makian language, also known as Taba or Makian Dalam, is a regional language spoken in the Makian and South Halmahera Island areas, North Maluku Province. The existence of this language is important to study because it is still alive in a spoken society, but it is in a situation that demands documentation and strengthening intergenerational functions. This research is prepared as a qualitative descriptive study with a structural-functional linguistic approach. The focus of the discussion was directed at the types of conjunctions that have the potential to appear in the speech of East Makian speakers, namely coordinated, subordinative, correlative, interclause, and intersentence conjunctions. Because specific documentation on East Makian conjunctions is still limited in available online sources, the typology discussion is compiled through the combination of basic linguistic data about East Makian with the framework of conjunction theory in Indonesian linguistics to produce an analysis model that can be used in advanced field research. The results of the study show that the typology of conjunctions in the Eastern Makian language can be conceptually mapped based on the relationship of addition, selection, contradiction, cause, condition, goal, time, and order between syntactic units. In the context of FKIP Unkhair students, the use of regional conjunctions is expected to be present side by side with Indonesian conjunctions due to the bilingual situation and language contact. Thus, research on Eastern Makian conjunctions is not only important for grammatical description, but also relevant for the preservation of regional languages, the teaching of regional linguistics, and the strengthening of students' linguistic identity.
